John burst into laughter as Andrea and Mr. Singers also chuckled when John allowed them to pass the receptionist's desk. Suddenly, Mr. Singers declared, "I would like to play the piano."
John froze, staring at Mr. Singers incredulously. "What did you say? You want to play the piano?"
Trembling with excitement and anxiety, John's face flushed with anticipation. "Yes, lead the way," Mr. Singers reaffirmed calmly, a smile playing on his lips.
"Fantastic! Everyone will be thrilled to hear you play again," John exclaimed joyfully, abandoning Mr. Singers and Andrea as he dashed towards the main hall of the academy.
It was a momentous occasion as Mr. Singers, the winner of the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, had not touched a piano in many years. John, his devoted fan, had eagerly awaited this day when Mr. Singers would play once more.
"Come with me," Mr. Singers chuckled, taking Andrea's hand as he led the way.
Andrea pondered John's actions when a sudden sound of footfalls interrupted her thoughts. As she raised her head, she found herself face to face with seven men of varying heights and builds.
"Mr. Singers, John mentioned your desire to grace the piano once more. I am eager to hear the renowned S play again," a British-accented man among them stepped forward and addressed Mr. Singers.
"You will witness my performance in due time. No need to rush. Gentlemen, meet Andrea. I want you all to welcome her as warmly as you did me, treat her as one of our own," Mr. Singers stated with a stern expression, "Of course," John immediately agreed, preempting any deliberation from the others. Flushed and anxious, John added, "Mr. Singers, your piano awaits. Let's proceed."
He could hardly contain his excitement about hearing Mr. Singers perform his masterpiece. Turning to Andrea, Mr. Singers remarked, "Don't judge them by their appearances, These individuals are the elite leaders in their respective fields. John is the owner of the largest record label, and the other gentleman here is the owner of the world's largest media platform, reaching billions of viewers..."
Mr. Singers took his time introducing each of them and elaborating on their fields of expertise.
"In the future, don't hesitate to seek their assistance; they are eager to reciprocate any favors," Mr. Singers said with a chuckle.
"We don't owe you anything!" John protested, leading the others in dissent.
Pretending not to hear, Mr. Singers took Andrea by the hand and began to walk away. John quickly followed suit, with the others close behind.
After passing through three doors, they reached a unique door that required a code to open.
Mr. Singers extended his hand and slowly entered the numbers, advising Andrea, "Remember the code; it's your birthday."
Andrea's eyes widened in disbelief; she had never disclosed her birthday to Mr. Singers before.
The shock on Andrea's face mirrored that of John and the others. Mr. Singers had guarded the passcode to this room with utmost secrecy, making the sudden revelation all the more surprising.
"Has the sun risen in the west today? Or is some calamity looming?" John's mind raced with fearful thoughts.
"Welcome, Mr. Singers!" a mechanical voice greeted, causing the door to creak open.
As they entered, the room was bathed in a bright light, impeccably clean and refreshing to the senses. A robot diligently moved about, tidying up the space.
In the room's center stood a grand piano, shrouded in a cover. Surrounding it were chairs for spectators, with one positioned in front for the pianist.
Guiding Andrea to a seat, Mr. Singers then approached the piano and unveiled it. Andrea gazed intently at the piano.
A look of astonishment crossed her face, etched with the passage of time, yet the memory of the piano remained vivid. Her mother's daily ritual of tenderly cleaning the instrument with tears in her eyes played like a silent film in her mind, a scene she once observed in secret.
Andrea's heart raced as she laid eyes on the piano, a relic she had thought lost forever to those they were indebted to.
Lost in a reverie, a haunting melody began to fill the room, stirring her soul. Each note tugged at her heartstrings, evoking memories of her mother's gentle hums harmonizing with the same tune now played by Mr. Singer.
Tears welled up in her eyes, cascading down her cheeks as she reminisced about her mother's love and sacrifices.
"Mom," Andrea whispered under her breath.
As Mr. Singer struck the final chord, a wave of applause erupted, everyone rising to their feet in awe and appreciation.
"Mr. Singers, your skill seems to improve every day," John remarked, feeling a pang of inferiority as he witnessed the raw emotion Mr. Singers infused into his performance, a quality best described as heavenly.
Little did John know the true identity of Andrea, a revelation that would have left him utterly unsurprised.
"Can you tell me the truth? Are you my father?" Andrea's sudden question pierced the air, catching everyone off guard as they admired the beautiful melody Mr. Singers had just played.
Her inquiry left them speechless, their eyes wide and jaws hanging open, questioning if they had misheard her.
Just moments ago, Mr. Singers had introduced Andrea as his wife. Why was she now asking if he was her father? The confusion and intrigue radiated from the onlookers.
"Excuse us," Mr. Singers interjected with a cough, breaking the gossip-filled atmosphere that had just taken hold.
One by one, they excused themselves, leaving Andrea and Mr. Singers alone in the room.
Andrea gazed at Mr. Singers, her curiosity overwhelming her as she inquired once more, "Are you my father? You're familiar with my mom's favorite song, my preferred food, and even my beloved colors. How do you possess such intimate knowledge about my mom and me? Who are you, and how did you come to possess this piano?" Overwhelmed by her emotions, Andrea couldn't contain her flood of questions any longer.
