Chapter 58: They Are After You

Ch. 58 / 153 Dec 06, 2025

Andrea gritted her teeth in anger and seethed his name through clenched teeth, "Valentine Anderson."

"Okay, I will stop!" Valentine Anderson chuckled and replied.

Andrea's face twisted in surprise; she had not anticipated Valentine Anderson's swift change of heart. It was uncharacteristic of him, but she breathed a sigh of relief. Being hounded by strangers was far from pleasant.

"Meet me at 9 p.m.," Andrea Singers instructed before abruptly ending the call.

She climbed into her car and headed back to her mansion, where a throng of reporters awaited her at the gate.

As her car approached, the reporters swarmed around her, bombarding her with inquiries.

"Mrs. Andrea Singers, what are your thoughts on Valentine Anderson's surprising love confessions?"

"You and Valentine Anderson have become the town's hottest topic. Many are eager to know if you will consider giving your ex-husband another chance."

Andrea maintained a stoic expression, uninterested in entertaining the nosy journalists who surrounded her car.

Assisted by her mansion's security team, her car smoothly entered the Singers' estate.

Exhausted from the day's events and Valentine Anderson's unexpected public declaration of love, Andrea collapsed onto her bed.

As her phone rang, she hesitated before answering the call from an unfamiliar number, her curiosity piqued.

"Hello, who is this?" Andrea inquired, puzzled by the unexpected call to her private number.

"Mrs. Andrea Singers, it's not important who I am. I have a unique request related to Valentine Anderson. Please, just say yes," the mysterious caller implored.

Before Andrea could grasp the caller's motive, the call abruptly ended with a beep, leaving her bewildered.

Still reeling from the previous call, Andrea's furrowed brow betrayed her confusion as another unknown number lit up her phone. She answered with caution, demanding, "Who is calling, please?"

"Mrs. Andrea Singers, I am rooting for you and Valentine Anderson," the caller said before abruptly hanging up. Andrea barely had time to process the words before her phone started ringing again.

Frustrated, she powered off her phone, wondering how her number had been leaked online.

"Valentine Anderson!" Andrea called out in anger, her voice filled with frustration as she clenched her teeth.

She lay back on her bed and drifted off to sleep. When it was time for her meeting with Valentine Anderson, she rose from her bed and carefully selected her outfit. After getting ready, she drove to the location where Valentine was waiting for her.

Andrea Singers had intentionally made him wait for an hour before she arrived. When she finally stepped into the restaurant, she found that there were no other patrons present. It seemed the restaurant had been transformed, the decorations now setting the scene for a romantic dinner.

She approached Valentine Anderson, who was waiting for her beside the window, looking out expectantly. As she sat down opposite him, he greeted her with a compliment. "You look gorgeous," Valentine said, his tone sincere.

Andrea raised her eyebrows, a hint of surprise in her voice. "You've never said such things to me before. You've changed so much, Valentine Anderson."

"If I didn't become shameless, I'd never stand a chance," Valentine responded, the honesty in his voice unmistakable.

A smile crept onto Andrea's face as she asked, "Are you really sure about this?"

Valentine looked at her, a flicker of confusion in his eyes, not quite grasping the intent behind her question. Nonetheless, he nodded firmly and said, "Andrea, I've made up my mind."

She regarded him for a moment before retrieving a file from her handbag and placing it on the table. She slid it across to Valentine with a nudge of her finger.

Valentine glanced from Andrea's face to the file with curiosity. As he flipped it open, he saw that it was a marriage contract filled with extravagant terms and conditions. Yet, without a moment's hesitation, he picked up a pen and signed it, much to Andrea's astonishment.

"You didn't even read it, did you?" Andrea asked, her eyebrows knitting together in bewilderment.

"I did," Valentine answered, locking eyes with her firmly.

"You're willing to give Val. Corp to me?" she questioned, her voice laced with disbelief.

"They've been yours from the start," Valentine said unequivocally, remembering how Andrea had provided the initial capital for Val. Corp, how she had persuaded staff and investors to join the fledgling company. Without her, Val. Corp would not exist.

As Andrea's lips curled into a smile, her expression suddenly froze. Valentine was now kneeling before her, a small ring box emerging from his pocket.

"Andrea Singers, I know I'm not the perfect man, but I aspire to be the best for you. I don't deserve you, but give me the chance to prove that I do. I love you deeply and want to spend my life with you, growing old together hand in hand. Will you marry me, Andrea Singers?" Valentine proposed, his voice filled with emotion.

Andrea was taken aback by the unexpected proposal. She hesitated, her emotions conflicted.

"I promise to be a man you can be proud of," Valentine added quickly, the diamond ring sparkling under the ambient light.

Just then, a song began to play softly in the background. Andrea's hesitation melted into a warm smile, and she extended her hand toward him.

"Yes, I will marry you," she said, her voice steady and filled with joy.

As Valentine slipped the ring onto her finger and stood up to embrace her, applause broke out around them. The diners who had been hidden from view began to cheer.

"Congratulations, Mrs. Singers and Mr. Anderson!"

"Thank you so much," Valentine said, acknowledging the diners whose cooperation had made the restaurant's transformation possible.

Andrea gazed at her new ring with a smile. Her phone suddenly rang, and she glanced at the caller ID before turning to Valentine and mouthing "excuse me."

She moved to a quiet corner to answer. "Andrea, increase your security. The organization has sent people to Vegas. I'm on my way there now," came Tony's anxious voice from the speaker.
