After the car departed from the airport, it pulled up at the Singers Group subsidiary in Vegas City.
Stepping out of the vehicle, she made her way into the company, where she was met by a gathering of all the staff and management heads, eager to welcome her.
"Miss Andrea Singers, welcome to Vegas City!" they chorused in unison.
With a warm smile, Andrea expressed her gratitude to each of them individually, saying, "Thank you so much."
Andrea's friendly demeanor took the staff by surprise, as they had perceived their CEO as a distant figure, not expecting her to be so approachable.
The once tense atmosphere quickly transformed into a lively one as everyone relaxed, shedding their initial nervousness. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Andrea proceeded to the president's office accompanied by the president.
When Andrea took her seat, she fixed a stern gaze upon the president of the subsidiary, Whitehead Stone, before delivering her blunt assessment.
"Whitehead Stone, it's clear that the subsidiary has been struggling for years. Do you believe you still deserve to hold the position of president here?"
Whitehead Stone felt a bead of sweat form on his brow as Andrea's words pierced the air. The undeniable truth hung heavy in the room - without Val. Corp's support from the shadows, the league assembled by the Ferguson family would have decimated them in Vegas long ago.
The troubles began with the passing of Mr. Singers, sparking a ruthless onslaught by the Ferguson group and other top families in Vegas against the Singers Group branch. Their performance suffered greatly in the aftermath, with only Val. Corp's intervention preventing their complete downfall.
"Miss Andrea Singers, I implore you to grant me another chance. I will not let you down this time," Whitehead pleaded desperately, fearful of losing his grip on the precious position he held.
"I hope so," Andrea replied casually, as she hadn't come here with the intention of dismissing anyone.
Whitehead's eyes widened in surprise; she hadn't anticipated being granted another chance so easily.
"Have you arranged the meeting with Rose Ferguson?" Andrea changed the subject, eager to confront her former rival who had caused the downfall of her marriage and taken Valentine Anderson from her.
She was curious to know who Rose Anderson was with now, considering the sorry state Valentine Anderson had been reduced to.
Over the years, she had neglected to investigate her ex-husband.
"Miss Andrea Singers, she's looking forward to seeing you. She has called three times to inquire about your arrival. The Ferguson family businesses have been struggling, and she's keen to secure a deal with the Singers Group," Whitehead explained. He was puzzled by the chairman's decision to engage with their long-standing adversaries.
"Please inform her that I will meet her in two hours at the exclusive room in Sky High Hotel," Andrea instructed. "Also, let her know to bring her current husband or boyfriend along."
Whitehead's eyes widened in surprise, questioning Andrea's motive for meeting both Rose Ferguson and her husband. He was completely in the dark about Andrea's intentions.
However, Andrea did not provide any explanation to Whitehead. Instead, she gave another directive. "Arrange for a new car for me and a team of professional security."
"Consider it done," Whitehead responded promptly, eager to satisfy the chairman who was surprisingly easy to communicate with.
Andrea nodded, acknowledging her departure from Singers Group, and walked outside to find Valentine's car parked and waiting- unexpectedly so, as she assumed he would have taken off to ferry other passengers by now.
"Miss Andrea Singers, I'll be serving as your chauffeur today," Valentine Anderson announced as he stepped forward.
"What are you up to, Valentine?" Andrea asked, a hint of suspicion lacing her voice.
"I'm simply fulfilling a job to drive you," Valentine Anderson replied, keeping his expression neutral.
Andrea studied his face for a moment, searching for any hint of deceit, but found none. Deciding not to press further, she climbed into the car.
Upon arriving at her father's mansion in Vegas, Andrea stepped out with a heavy sigh, the memories within these walls having been brief. Valentine, without prompting, disembarked as well and proceeded to carry her suitcase inside.
The mansion's butler promptly greeted her. "Ma'am Andrea Singers, welcome to Vegas. I am Tom Stings, the butler of this residence."
With a puzzled frown, Andrea inquired, "How many staff members are currently employed here?"
Her eyes swept over the grounds, noting only the gardeners beyond the butler.
"Ma'am, the mansion hasn't been occupied for quite some time, hence most of the staff were dismissed. Now that you've arrived, I will see to it that we hire additional help immediately," Butler Tom explained.
She nodded, understanding the situation. "Then please hire a chef first; I'm starving," Andrea instructed before retiring to her room for a brief nap.
She made a couple of phone calls-to Pete and Housekeeper Win-before stepping out again.
Andrea's surprise was palpable when she returned to the living room to see Valentine Anderson donned in the mansion's staff uniform.
"Ma'am Andrea Singers, your meal is ready, prepared to your liking, including your favorite dish," Valentine Anderson declared, rendering Andrea utterly speechless.
"Why are you wearing a staff uniform?" she inquired, her curiosity piqued.
"I am your chef, newly hired just an hour ago while you were resting. I've taken the liberty of preparing ensure they are free from poison," Valentine stated, his face devoid of emotion.
"You can cook?" Andrea blurted out, her eyes wide with astonishment.
She recalled their time as a married couple when Valentine hadn't the faintest clue about cooking. The memory of him attempting to surprise her with a birthday meal - only to end with a kitchen in flames and firefighters at their door —was vivid in her mind.
"Ma'am Andrea Singers, please proceed to the dining room. You will see whether I am truthful or not," Valentine Anderson suggested calmly.
Driven by her curiosity, Andrea made her way to the dining table. There, an array of dishes was spread out with care and precision, each appearing more tantalizing than the last, and she was taken aback by the unexpected sight.
