Chapter 92 Do you know who I am?
Olivia's POV
Walking towards the front desk lady, I flashed her a smile leaning on her desk and pulling down my shades to the bridge of my nose.
"Which way to Ethan's office?" I asked the smile not once leaving my face, if they thought I was nice and friendly, this would be much easier.
This was the first time coming to Ethan's company, and sincerely I was shocked by its magnificent size. It was the biggest in the whole city so I was expecting it to be huge but it was way larger than my expectations, but I couldn't just gape at it like a country bumpkin.
I would be coming here more often very soon if, o meant when my plan works.
" Ms do you have an appointment with him?" The front desk lady asked with a professional smile on her face that didn't waver even after I pulled down my glasses.
Could it be that everyone in this country has forgotten who I was just because I was gone for a few months?
I blinked in surprise taken aback, before letting out a slow breath to calm my nerves, completely removing my glasses from my face and putting it in my purse.
"I don't have an appointment, but I'm his very good friend."
"I'm sorry, but you need to schedule an apartment before you can see the chairman. " The lady said respectfully but I still saw it as an insult.
" Do you know who I am?" I asked my nose flaring in anger.
What was wrong with everybody?!
The lady nodded softly. "I do, you're Olivia Sangria a big time actress and I'm a huge fan, but we have rules in this company and I cannot disregard them even for you". She completed with another nod.
She was a fan huh? Then I fucking remove you from being my fan! How can you love someone but keep them waiting because of company policy which when I say it out loud in my mind sound right.
"Look here..." I began leaning on to the desk even more. "What's your name?" I paused to ask.
"Gloria". The lady answered curtly
Gloria? Such a plane name and she had the guts to speak to me like this? Could it be because of my clothes that people were disrespecting me?
Just breathe Olivia, you have to get through this.
" Gloria". I began again, my voice extraordinary calm considering I was about to blow up. " I'm his sister's best friend, em Hannah Wright, you may not know her since you're ... "I held my lips before I would accidentally insult the only way I could get into Ethan's office.
" I mean, Ethan's sister doesn't need an appointment to get in right? "
" But you're not his sister are you? "
" More or less. "
I just sister zoned myself to Ethan just to get into his office? Olivia what are you doing?
Still the lady shook her head, really starting to get on my nerves. " What if I called her right now and she answers you?" I asked getting frustrated with the situation.
"No can do Ms, like you were about to say, I'm only the lady at front desk that receives visitors, how would I know the chairman's sister voice?" She said with a snicker, her smile dropping.
"That was not..."
"But you're about to". Gloria snapped.
Ok, this girl got some balls.
And there was this particular glint I saw in her eyes and my lips hooked up in a smile. "Alright, I understand. A hundred thousand". I suddenly called out and her eyes widened in shock of the amount.
" A... A hundred thousand for what exactly? " She stammered taking in several gulps.
I knew it, she was trying to have self respect, but that was a virtue only privileged to the rich.
" If you would let me in". I answered her blowing on my fingers.
She fidgeted contemplating severally before shaking her head." No, company policy states... "
" A hundred and fifty ". I interrupted and her eyes went even more rounder. She was about to reject it again, then I spiked it up.
" Two hundred thousand ".
" Are you serious?! " She exclaimed completely engrossed in the amount of money I called.
There were only few people like that taxi driver in this world, but everyone eventually had a price, his was just going to be higher than most and can withstand longer.
" But... But... " She fidgeted and I slammed my hands on the table, making her jump and look at me.
" Two hundred and fifty and that's my final offer, take it or leave it? " I asked with a smirk and just as I expected, she nodded picking up a pen and writing something down.
"Here is my account number" She said pushing the paper towards me and my lips widened in amusement.
Well she was serious.
I brought out my phone, taking a picture of the account number and immediately sending it to my manager.
Just as soon as it was sent, my manager called.
"What is this?"
"Wire two hundred and fifty thousand dollars to that account right now". I commanded before ending the call.
Dropping my phone back in my purse, I glanced at Gloria with a smile. "You should receive your alert in three... Two... One..." Her phone beeped she picked it up in an instant.
"Oh my goodness, it's real!" She exclaimed with a bright smile on her face.
" You're welcome". I replied, the smirk still on my face. "I'm going in now, see you when I come out".
I walked past her elegantly and filled with confidence, going straight to the elevator and pressed the highest floor.
While in the elevator, I removed my little mirror and lipstick from my purse together with my mini make-up kit.
I had to look good for Ethan... It was a must.
I applied the lipstick in my lips, smacking them severally to make sure it was evenly distributed before placing everything back into my purse and leaving the elevator as soon as it sounded.
"Why is this place empty?" I thought walking around. This was not as I imagine it to be at all.
The place was dull, there were desks and offices but no one was there not a single body at all.
" Where did everybody go?" I stopped to think my neck turning around.
It was impossible for everyone to just suddenly call in sick, could it be because Ethan and Rachel broke uo and the guy was brooding?
Maybe that was why he sent all his executives and their secretaries and every one else that worked on this floor away.
Whatever, Olivia this is not what you came here for... I rold myself resuming my walk. It was a good thing no one was around, then I could just see Ethan without any one getting in my way, and me spending more money.
I had not been here before, but common sense told me that the office with the largest and blackest door was Ethan's, so I barged in opening the door with two hands.
" Oh Ethan it's me!" I shouted with a large smile but was met with an empty desk.
"Ethan was gone too?"
What was this?
The bottom floor was buzzing with people while the highest floor was empty? Where was everyone? I thought walking closer towards Ethan's desk only to meet to file on it.
One was about a meeting, while the other didn't say.
Shit... They must all be in a meeting, that must be it. I reasoned picking up the meeting file. I was about to open it, but I decided against it.
This was Ethan's private meeting with his executives, I shouldn't pry in that.
But the other file... It was bare and with no labels, it couldn't be that important right?
