Wedded To The Ruthless Mafia Boss

We will make more babies

Ch. 80 / 166 Jan 15, 2026

It's been five hours since they got back home and Lena was still sleeping.

Darian sat close to her, watching as she took short breaths in her sleep. Lisa had argued with him when he told her he wanted to bring Lena home, but he promised her that he would take good care of his wife.

Lena rolled on the bed, letting out a soft yawn. She tossed around to see Darian staring intently at her.

"You are awake," his lips curled up in a small smile. "I have been waiting for you to wake up."

She looked around the bedroom, dissatisfied. "Why am I here? When did I leave Lisa's house?" She asked him.

"I brought you back home, Lena." He said in a gentle tone. "Our home," he emphasized.

"How and why?" She grimaced, "how did you bring me back here?" She rested her back on the headboard.

"You were sleeping," Darian said, trying to calm her down. "I carried you into the car and brought you home, Lena." He slinked closer to her and squeezed her hand. "How do you feel?"

They stared into each other's eyes, studying every movement of their eyes. Lena gazed down, tears streaming down her cheeks. She had missed her husband so terribly, she didn't know how much until now.

"Hey, don't cry." Darian pulled her close and pressed a long kiss to her forehead. "I am here for you, for you and you alone, Lena." He tightened the hug, and Lena didn't jerk away from him. She remained in his arms, sobbing. After the sound of her sobs had quelled, Darian asked, "do you want me to let go now?"

Lena jiggled her head, hugging him even tighter than before. "I am not fine," she whispered into his ears. "I am not fine, Darian."

"I know and that's why I brought you home. I want to take care of you, I want to make you fine again. I miss you so much, Lena. I miss us." He stroked her hair with his fingers, still holding her close.

They took satisfaction in each other's warmth for a very long time that seemed like forever. He let go of her and looked into her eyes, they were swollen from tears.

"I am sorry about the loss," Darian said. "Maybe it would have survived if you weren't locked up by the Dawson family member. I take the blame for it all, can you forgive me?" He took her hands and kissed them.

"Darian, maybe the baby would have survived if I was more responsible and conscious of my body. I feel so terrible, I couldn't even protect my child." She sobbed gently.

"Our child, we couldn't protect our baby. We are in this together. But do you know that we can make other babies?" He smiled at her, "many more babies we can protect together."

She shook her head, "Darian,"

He pinned her lips with his fingers, "stop brooding,"

"It's hard to forget about it," she declared.

"I know but I want you to try to. I am here for you and all I want to see is that smiling face. I don't like it when you cry. You know that, don't you?" He asked her.

"I do," she nodded.

"You've been torturing me for days," he frowned and kissed her lips unexpectedly. "What do you want me to do for you to make you feel better?"

"Stay with me, Darian. I want you to stay with me and hold me in your arms." Lena voiced out.

"Will that make you feel better?" He asked.

"Hopefully," she mumbled to him.

Darian edged closer to her side, he rested his back on the headboard and placed her head on his chest.

"I cooked for you while you were sleeping."

Lena chuckled, that was the first time she found something amusing since the news of her biochemical pregnancy. The imagination of Darian baking waffles with extra salt, and coffee with too much sugar caused her to chuckle.

Darian was pleased with the sound of her light chuckling

"Not that salty waffle, something different." He continued. "Will you like to taste it now? Lisa told me you've not been eating well."

"Not now," she groaned, still basking in his tenderness, she didn't want to let go of him.

"What did you cook?" She asked, teasingly.

"You will see it when you want to eat," he replied, kissing her lips.

Lena blushed when the kiss landed on her lips.

"What judgment did they pass to me at the casino?" She just remembered what took her to the casino. "And Gaius, is he feeling better?"

"Yes, he is feeling better." Darian said, "we are still investigating, but we are certain you didn't do it. The culprit had eluded but she'd soon be nabbed." He assured her.

"I hope so," Lena said curtly. "The news hit me too badly. I felt like my world came to an end, I was making plans for my child, it was so painful that I didn't even get to know that I was pregnant, and losing the baby made me go crazy. It wasn't easy for me, Darian."

"I understand how you feel. Let's just assume the baby wasn't meant for us. It would have survived if it was meant to be ours. Now you have to get over it, we can make other babies." Darian stroked her hair.

"Darian,"

"Yes Lena, it wasn't ours to be. Stop brooding too much."

"I will stop," she said.

"You have to make a promise to me that you'll stop."

"Darian, I can't do that. I still think of the pregnancy. What if I had not lost it?"

"Lena, you have to get your mind over it to heal."

She nodded her head. She sat straight and looked into his eyes.

"Have you ever thought of having a child with me?" She suddenly asked.

"Lena," he smiled. "I have been so selfish about you that I didn't even think about someone else joining our family, but after what happened and reading the letter that you wrote for us. I am certain that I want to have children with you. I want and promise to love and take care of every little human that comes out of you, my wife."

Lena smiled heartily, his words soothed her.

“You read the diary?" She asked, staring shyly at him. "She read everything that I wrote in there?"

"Yes, I did. A beautiful devil, a motherfucking bastard, and your husband." He chuckled. "Darian is everything to you."

"Oh, I didn't like you at first," she playfully hit her hand on his chest.

"I know, I was cruel and I regret that. Do you like me now?" He asked her.

"I already answered this in the letter, I dropped a question too." She retorted.

"Yes, you did."

"Can you answer that now?" She stared at him.

"I brought you back home to answer that," Darian traced soft kisses around her neck. "The Doctor said the biochemical pregnancy makes one know that they are capable of bearing children in the future."

"Yes?" Lena wondered how that was related to the question she asked him.

"We will have many babies in the future, cute chubby babies like you want. Then, there will be a world where I will be the king and you will be my queen, and our babies will be the princes and princesses. That world would be my whole world, my entire life, Lena. You will be the reason I live, the reason I want to be a good father to our children, and the reason I want to be the best man for you, Lena." He looked into her eyes, he saw pure emotions. It was obvious she felt the same way for him, "Lena, I want to do these things with you because you are the reason I am surviving. You are my air, I can't breathe without you."

"Darian," she whispered, her heart almost exploding as he stared lovingly into her eyes.

The effect he had on her was too strong, she held onto him and he pressed a kiss to her head. She snaked her arms around his neck, burying her head in his chest. Her tears stained his shirt and he soothed her by patting her back.

"Don't cry," he whispered to her. "And stop running away from me. I am the only one who can make you feel better. Don't ever tell me to leave you alone, it hurts so much when you say those words."

Lena chuckled, nodding her head in understanding.

"I will protect you, Lena. I will do my best to protect you."

She believed his words, she stopped crying and enjoyed the warmth his chest produced.

She was back to her man, her home, and her life.

Darian's arms were where she needed to be the whole time, he was the only one who could heal her. She felt alive and whole again.

"When you are completely healed, we will make more babies." He whispered into her ears.

She laughed, trusting her husband's words.
