Wedded To The Ruthless Mafia Boss

In your dreams

Ch. 97 / 166 Jan 15, 2026

Darian halted his car when he arrived at the address Thelma sent to him. It was a bit far from town, so he used the GPS map in his car to get the address correctly. He dialled her number to inform her of his presence, but she showed up before the call could ring.

“Hi Darian, can you open the door for me?" She asked, grinning heavily like she just won a lottery.

It had been months since he had seen her, and he could tell that she had changed a bit. She had lost weight and her eyes were pale like she'd been sick.

He unlocked the door with the remote, Thelma winked at him before walking over to join him in the passenger's seat. She slammed the door after sitting in.

"You came here," she smiled, not taking her eyes off him. He was still as handsome as she had remembered.

"Why did you call me?" Darian asked in a gruff voice. "I don't have all the time in the world to spend here with you."

"Easy, Darian. How have you been?" She asked him. "You should ask how I have been fairing, you know? It's been four months and you don't even care if I have been well?"

Darian scoffed, bobbing his head. He knew she was doing well. Jay had told him that she joined a modelling agency and that explained why she had lost so much weight.

He shook his head, wondering why people had the mentality of skinny to be the only beauty. He found every woman beautiful no matter her body type. What mattered was not a woman's beauty, but who she was, the kind of heart she had and her attributes. Beauty was good, but there were more things to just being beautiful.

"You have been doing well, Thelma." He retorted, taking his eyes off her. She was looking attractive as always.

"What makes you think so? Because you now see me on magazines? You think I am really happy living that life?"

"Thelma, that isn't any of my business. You resigned of your free will, I didn't threaten you. And is that the reason you summoned me here?" He glared back at her. "Get off my car, I don't have the time for this."

"Darian," she touched his hand that was on the steering wheel and heaved an exasperated sigh. "You know I have always wanted to be a model ever since I was young. Even when I was in business school, all I had in mind was to graduate and be a model."

Darian kneaded his fingers in his hair. He wasn't ready to talk about her life or whatever she had in mind to tell him. He wouldn't have driven down there if he knew she had nothing meaningful to say to him.

"You are wasting my time," he cautioned her.

"I know you are not the one to be patient with people, but I want you to listen to what I have to say to you." She said.

Darian was impatient, but for old times' sake, he decided to give her a chance to talk. He relaxed on the seat, folding his arms against his chest.

"When I graduated from business school, I was ready to take on my modelling career, but then I met you. You needed a secretary for your new company, you needed someone who could do things well and that was me because I just left school. I had all you needed. I wasn't interested in the job but I was interested in you and that was the reason I took up the job. Since the very first time that I saw you, I have always wanted you for myself and I stayed with you, working as your secretary for years. We became sex partners at a point and you dumped me when you got married to your beautiful wife." She smiled, clasping her hands together.

"I thought we were done with this, Thelma." He said softly. "You told me you were letting go and wouldn't come back into my life. Why are you suddenly acting this way?" He was unsettled, he didn't want to do anything to hurt Lena at all. And now, he felt so horrible for the things he had with Thelma, he should have been more disciplined.

"Yes, I did. I let go because I thought I could. But these few months without you have been hell. I have thought about it and realised that I can't get my mind off you, Darian."

"I am married," he rubbed his fingers.

Then, he remembered there was no ring on his finger, he had not worn their wedding ring. After their wedding day he took it off his fingers. He had not seen Lena wear it too, maybe they just didn't fancy it.

"I know, I know you are married and that was why I got mad the first time and decided to let go of you. But can one get over what they want? You are different from every other man, Darian and I feel you are the only one for me. I don't care if you are married, we can still work out something. You were married when you came to my house to vent by sleeping with me, weren't you?"

Darian hated to think about that night he cheated on his wife out of his stupidity. Now, Thelma had something to use against him after she assured him that she would never show up in his life again.

"Thelma, this is getting too much. I told you whatever happened between us that night was a mistake and I regret it." He emphasised.

"It wasn't a mistake, Darian. You did it because you yearned for my body." She countered him. "You can't resist me and I can't too, I want you in my life. I really do."

"Cheating on Lena will be the last thing I will do in this world. I will appreciate it if you get out of my car this minute and never show up in my life anymore." Darian glared at her, his gaze burning her even though everywhere was cold. She didn't waver, she wasn't scared of his deadly glares anymore.

"Darian, I thought carefully about this. You only let go of something you think you can't have. Why not try to see if you can have it to yourself."

"In your dreams, Thelma. In your dreams." He was angry now. She was messing with him, he hated that.

"I don't care if I will have you in my dreams or reality but I do want you and I will do whatever it will take to have you to myself. Anything at all that it will take." Her words sounded like threats when she dropped them. They locked eyes with each other for a split second. She smiled and smirked at him. "I keep the records of everything that we've shared in the past. Our relationship as a boss and secretary and the good sex I gave to you. We are good, Darian."

He didn't say anything to her. He was so angry he wished he could whack her face right there in the car.

"The deal you sealed recently, I know about it even though it's about the mafia. And I want to let you know that I was one of the reasons you got the contract. A friend of mine works for the government, and he recommended you because I used to be your secretary."

His mind was messed up, but he still managed to talk.

"I don't care if you do have a hand in this or not. All I know is that I got the contract and I would have gotten it even if you didn't help me." He said proudly. "I don't need your help to function well."

"We don't have to talk too much about this, Darian." She said, smiling and infuriating him more.

"Thelma, I want you to stop dreaming. I am married and I don't need an extra relationship. I am happy and fine with my wife." He looked into her eyes and said.

"I am not going to be an extra, I just want you to make me your mistress. Your wife does not have to know about it. You can always come to me whenever you need to have a good time and I will always be ready for you."

"I don't want you to be my mistress!" Darian shouted at her, his eyes fierce with anger.

"But I want to be, I want to be your mistress." She smiled seductively at him, trailing her fingers through his laps up to his groin. Darian didn't flinch, he let her do what she wanted to do. She stopped caressing his body.

"Get out of my car, Thelma! Right now!" He shouted at her.

"Before I go, I would like to remind myself to consider my words. You need to act fast because I won't let this slide. And this time, I am not running away from you anymore." Her expression was serious as she talked to him.

"I don't want a mistress, don't you get it?"

"I will leave you to think about it." She clutched the handle of the door and tried to open it. She stepped out of the car, bending to look at Darian and asking him. "How is your wife?"

Darian kicked the car and zoomed out of the sacred place he went to meet with Thelma. He regretted going to listen to the nonsense she just spewed.

Darian didn't like Thelma, he just appreciated the fact that she was intelligent and diligent with her job. He thought everything was good when Thelma left his life, he never knew she'd show up again, demanding that he did something ridiculous.

Darian gripped the steering wheel tightly. He shook his head, refusing to bring tears to Lena's eyes again. Things were good between them, he didn't want to ruin what they'd been building.

He sighed, all the thoughts that filled his head were about Lena. He didn't want to let her down.
