Wedded To The Ruthless Mafia Boss

75. Broken

Ch. 75 / 166 Jan 15, 2026

The vehicle came to a halt when he arrived at the garage of his mansion. Lena scooted off the car, he went after her but Jay appeared in front of him, deterring him from catching up with his wife.

"Is there a problem?" Darian asked, annoyed. His eyes were on Lena as she headed into the house. She ignored Dickson's and Harrison's greetings and didn't acknowledge any of the bodyguards who greeted her as she walked in. "What is the problem?" His gaze shifted back to Jay.

"I got the whereabouts of your mother. We found her, boss." He slightly bowed his head.

Darian eye's squinted in worry. He couldn't handle his newly found mother and his wife now. He had to focus on one and that was his wife who needed him so much.

"Take care of that, keep an eye on her and make sure everything goes on well with her. Does she still live in the slum?" He asked.

"Yes, but we've made arrangements to move her out. I just wanted your approval," Jay said.

"Do what you can, Jay. I have to be with my wife now." He patted his shoulders. "Tell the bodyguards not to let anyone into the house without my permission." He left Jay before he could prolong the discussion.

Darian was certain Jay would ask what was wrong with Lena if he hadn't left him alone. Jay was his right-hand man, he trusted him with everything, but he wasn't in that mood now.

He got in, shut the door, and wobbled towards the bedroom. He entered inside but the place was empty.

"Lena," he called, but there was no response. He searched every alcove of the room, yet he didn't find her. He dashed out of the room and met with Tina in the living room. "Where is my wife?" He queried her.

Tina pointed toward the guest room. Darian shook his head, veering towards the room. He got to the doorpost and tried the door, the door was locked. He went back into the bedroom to get the keys to the door, he got back and unlocked the door.

Lena was curled up on one side of the bed. He sighed and walked in. She was making him lose his mind already, he had never seen this side of her. She'd always been the cheerful type, never a sulking one, and this new mood bothered him. He had to do everything to get her back to the Lena she used to be.

"Go away, Darian." She perceived his cedarwood scent as he approached her. "I don't want to talk to anyone, I want to be alone."

"Lena," he didn't back off. He moved closer until he was standing in front of her. "I won't go away," he sat beside her and took her hands in his. "You have to stop crying." He said in a soft voice. "You will only get sick if you continue to cry."

"I don't care, just leave me the hell alone!" She yelled. She was angry, so mad at herself and everyone around her. "I can't stay in this house with you, I am suffocating, I have to get out of here. I am tired of it all, Darian. Don't you get it? I am tired, just leave me alone!" She was screaming now.

She jumped to her feet and paced the room with her hand tightly clasped over her head. She didn't want to do that anymore. She was tired, angry, she'd had enough.

"Lena," he firmly grabbed her waist. "If this is about the baby, remember I'm the father too. It was our baby, don't get yourself worked up, we can always have other babies." He pressed her body against his, her temperature was so high he felt his skin burning when they connected.

"Let me be," she shook off. "Stop holding me, I want to be alone." Tears were streaming down her face.

Darian loathed the tears, he couldn't just sit back and watch his wife suffer alone.

"You have to get some sleep, you are developing a fever." He said to her.

Lena shook her head but was not in agreement with Darian's words. She was trying so hard to put everything together.

She wanted to know how she wasn't aware of her pregnancy for four weeks. She was sure she'd gotten a hint if she wasn't locked up in that horrible room. That thought angered her more. She wanted to vent her aggression on all the members of the Dawson family, they caused her to lose her innocent baby.

Darian stayed by her side. He studied her every movement, he knew it would be hard to persuade her. He had never done this to any woman and he sucked at it too, but he wanted to try with Lena. He deeply cared about her feelings, he didn't want to leave her alone to hurt.

"I will tell Tina to serve your food and you are not saying no to me." He said strictly, but she just scoffed. Darian shook his head, he shouldn't be hard on someone who was brooding. He sat on the bed with her and took her hands. "Lena,"

She turned away from him, "get me out of here, Darian. I can't stay here anymore." Her shoulders began to jerk as tears spilled down her eyes. She was sad, she had never been this dejected. She just couldn't get over the fact that she lost her baby. "Leave, leave, leave." She hit his thighs with her soft punches that barely had an impact on him.

He let her hit him. He was used to people hitting him whenever they were hurt. His father did and now his wife, it didn't matter to him anymore.

"What can I do to stop all these?" He asked her.

"Leave me alone, Darian. Just leave me alone."

"I don't, I don't want to ever leave you alone, Lena." He heaved her up and wrapped her around his arms. "You will be fine," he whispered into her ears.

She stayed still in his arms, savoring his warmth. She was angry but she still needed him to shield her like he was doing now. She stopped fighting and just stayed in his arms.

"I will take you back to the room," he said when she had stopped yelling.

He heaved her up and carried her back to their bedroom. He positioned her on her side of the bed and knelt in front of her.

Her eyes were already closing. He tucked some tendrils back into the back of her hair and kissed her cheeks. Lena sniffed, rolling on the bed, she turned to the other side. She didn't want to see his face now.

Darian sat close to her on the bed, watching her as she drifted to sleep, she looked so tired. He didn't even want to think of all the pain she'd gone through these past few days.

The bruises from the torture in the darkroom were all over her face. He touched her bruises, caressing every one of them. Her tears stained his fingers. Even while sleeping, she was still crying.

He held her hand and reached for her phone. He wanted to take care of her but if she continued that way, it would be difficult.

He unlocked the phone and scrolled down to Lisa's contact. She seemed to be the only one who could make her happy now and all he wanted was for her to get better. He didn't want to prolong her wellness by trying too hard when it was clear she didn't want him around. It would only get worse if he did.

He clicked on the dial option and called Lisa. He had a few conversations with her after which he invited her over to the house.

Lisa agreed without giving it a second thought. Darian ended the call, he couldn't let her go to Lisa, but he could at least bring Lisa to her.

Maybe seeing her would enliven her mood, he just wanted her to be fine.

He wanted his wife back

Author's note:

Whether biochemical pregnancy or not, it's very difficult for a woman to deal with the news of a miscarriage.

She can go into a state of total depression if she doesn't have people around her to care for her.

Some women have people who care about them around, but sometimes the pain is excruciating and it takes a long time to heal.

Lena is traumatized. But then, I need to ask you guys.

Judging from the fact that she wasn't aware of her pregnancy, do you think she's overreacting to this?

I look forward to your comments,

Thank you.
