Gloria spoke very slowly. Then she turned firmly and walked toward Patrick.
She looked at Patrick in front of her. From the second she knew that he was her mate, they were meant to get entangled for a lifetime.
No one else got to stir their fingers at anything that was going on between her and Patrick.
"Mr. Hammond, let's go to Moonlight Group," Gloria lowered her head and whispered.
She felt a hand on her shoulder, and in the next second, the world turned upside down. By the time she could see around her, she found herself being carried by Patrick. Bowing her head, she didn't resist and let Patrick carry her out without struggling.
Derrick stood stiffly there. After Patrick and Gloria disappeared, he suddenly staggered and leaned against the wall behind him.
He couldn't stop thinking about Gloria's words. He thought, 'What does she mean? Why didn't she fight back after I insulted her? Why doesn't she hate me?'
"She said I was her light! How ridiculous!" Derrick said to himself, choking. Tears came out of the corners of his eyes, and he buried his face in his palms.
"I don't need you to be nice to me. You're just a call girl, a rogue without a pack. I don't need your gratitude." Derrick's voice trailed off, his pain buried in it.
Patrick carried Gloria all the way to the car and put her in the passenger seat.
Leonard ran over and was going to drive the car. Yet Patrick waved his hand and refused, and therefore Leonard stopped and retreated to the side.
Patrick pulled open the driver's door and got in.
He leaned back on the chair. A long time later, he gripped the steering wheel.
Patrick started the engine and stepped on the accelerator. In the next second, the car roared. Suddenly, he opened his mouth and said something, but his voice was muffled by the roar, and Gloria could only vaguely hear her name being mentioned.
Gloria turned her head and asked in confusion, "What did you say?"
Patrick pursed his lips and said, "I said, I'll take you to Moonlight Group."
Gloria was stunned for a second, and then she nodded and looked out of the window.
Sitting in the driver's seat, Patrick gripped the steering wheel with his hands. Only he knew what he had just said. He said, "Gloria, I am jealous."
Leo growled in dissatisfaction, "Patrick, you're jealous that Derrick is Gloria's light!"
Patrick didn't respond to Leo, because Leo was right. He was jealous of Derrick! He felt like he was going crazy.
He thought, 'Gloria cares about Derrick, and that's why she said those words to him. She was gentle to him. She wanted him to come out of his despair.
But she is my mate. Although she chose me finally, I am not delighted at all, because I know her choice has nothing to do with love.
Gloria is the mate the Moon Goddess chose for me. We are meant to be together. Gloria can never run away from me.'
There was a flash of determination in Patrick's eyes. He made up his mind. He would make Gloria fall in love with him again.
When they arrived at Moonlight Group, Gloria noticed that Patrick had followed her out of the car.
"I can manage," she tactfully refused his company.
"You can't refuse me," Patrick said expressionlessly.
Along the way, Gloria didn't say anything else.
After entering Moonlight Group, Gloria straightened her back and stepped into the elevator under the surprised gaze of everyone.
"Mandy, call for an urgent executive meeting," Gloria called Mandy as soon as she got into the elevator.
Mandy was shocked when she received Gloria's call. To her surprise, Gloria managed to adjust her state on this cusp and return to Moonlight Group so quickly.
Mandy responded quickly, "Yes, Miss Carter."
A smile appeared on Mandy's face again. The video indeed hit her and a few others hard.
In the video, Gloria was humble. She even struck others as undignified.
They had followed Gloria for years. Therefore, in their eyes, Gloria was still the founder of Moonlight Group. Although it was still a bit too much for them for now, they never lost faith in Gloria.
It was just that Gloria hid her head in the sand, and by doing so, she put them all on the defensive.
A lot of werewolves from the Silver Spring Pack chose to stay in Moonlight Group. Some of them were in management positions, and they were competitors against Mandy and the others.
After the video went viral, they waited for Gloria's reaction. Her running away put Mandy and the others in a very awkward position. At the same time, those from the Silver Spring Pack started to make a move.
Mandy was under great pressure. She expected Gloria to adjust herself and return to the battlefield as quickly as possible. In such a case, even if they lost, they would have no regrets.

Yet Mandy didn't expect Gloria to return so soon.

"One minute to go," Mandy replied.
Gloria nodded. She sat on the chair with her eyes closed.
The others in the conference room looked at Gloria in surprise. They looked at one another, only to see confusion in each other's eyes.
A minute later, Gloria, who was sitting in the middle, opened her eyes and looked up at Mandy.
Mandy raised her wrist, glanced at her watch, nodded to Gloria, and said, "It's time."
"Everyone, sorry that I called an unscheduled executive meeting today on such short notice." Gloria's expression was very calm as she looked around the room.
"As long as you're here today, whatever you did in the past, I'll let it slide." Then Gloria looked at Mandy and continued, "Mandy, tell the Personnel Department now. All the executives who do not show up today without taking early leave will be fired."
Mandy was stunned due to the severity of the punishment. Yet when she saw the determined look on Gloria's face, she immediately replied, "Yes, Miss Carter."
It was only the beginning of the meeting, and Gloria had already played rough. After that, everyone in the conference room immediately changed their attitudes.
Some of them tried to argue, but when they saw Patrick standing behind Gloria, they all shut up.
"I know you've all seen that video. Let me remind you of something. I own Moonlight Group. So, if you work for this company, whatever opinion you have of me, keep it to yourself. I just want you to do your job. Is that clear?" Right now, Gloria was at her peak, and she looked at everyone with piercing eyes.
No one knew Gloria's straight back was drenched with sweat. Anyway, she couldn't back down now. If she wanted to control Moonlight Group, she had to have the upper hand.
