Laura POV
I paced angrily in the confines of the house, resentment coursing through my veins like an angry flame. How could Jamal banish me like this? The thoughts spun in my mind, spiraling into a hurricane of fury. I had admired him from afar since childhood, and when my sister married him, my heart shattered into a million pieces. Her untimely death, occurring on their wedding night, filled me with a flicker of hope.
Then came the other wives—two more who married Jamal and met the same tragic fate. I was convinced that the Moon Goddess was favoring me, granting me a chance to be with the man I longed for. But that damned human, Methis, ruined everything. This time, I wouldn't stay silent. This time, I would fight for what I believed was rightfully mine: my position by Jamal's side, as his true Luna.
And now this? This wasn't going to stop me. Maybe he was mad, maybe he was crazy, maybe he was just being performative in front of the servants, to make them think it was the new deal, either way, I was going to find out now.
With fire in my eyes, I marched up to Jamal, determined to make my presence known. "Jamal, this is not fair! How can you cast me aside like this?"
His expression hardened, a stern resolve forming on his handsome face. "Laura, your constant provocations against Methis cannot go unchecked. I will not tolerate any more harm caused to her or anyone else in this pack."
I scoffed, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "So, you're saying that the human Female Lead deserves all this protection, all this attention? What makes her so special?"
Jamal's gaze narrowed, a flicker of impatience crossing his features. "Methis is carrying my pup. She deserves respect and protection. I won't let anyone cause harm to her or the child she carries."
Anger surged within me, jealousy and rage intertwining like a poisonous vine. "And what about me, Jamal? What about all those years we've spent together? Doesn't that mean anything to you?"
His face softened, a mix of guilt and regret mingling in his eyes. "Laura, you know our relationship has changed. My responsibilities as an Alpha come first. I cannot ignore the pull I feel towards Methis and the family we could build."
The pain in my heart intensified, tears welling up but refusing to fall. "You're breaking my heart, Jamal. After everything we've been through, how can you just cast me aside?"
His voice grew cold, firm with resolve. "I'm not casting you aside, Laura. I'm asking you to reflect on your actions, to control your anger and jealousy. This is your chance to make things right."
A sob escaped my lips, echoing through the room. "I can't believe you've chosen her over me. After all the love and devotion I've showered upon you."
Jamal took a step closer, his voice softening. "Laura, I understand your pain, but we must find our own paths. Perhaps there is someone else out there destined to be your mate."
I swatted his hand away, anger fueling my defiance. "I don't need your pity, Jamal. I don't want to see your face again!"
As I stormed away, tears streaming down my face, resentment and determination fueled a fire inside me. I would not let this go. Methis might have Jamal's attention for now, but I would prove to him and to the Moon Goddess that I was the one meant to be by his side. This was not over. This was only the beginning of a battle for my rightful position as his true Luna.
With gritted teeth and an indomitable spirit, I walked away, vowing to fight for what I believed was rightfully mine. Love was not something to be taken lightly, and I would do anything to secure my place in Jamal's heart. The winds of change had arrived, and I was ready to unleash the storm within me.

My chance came sooner than expected. That very evening, to be precise. And from a totally unexpected area. My father had heard of Jamal's decree, somehow news traveled faster in these regions, so he had come, with a few members of the council of elders of the pack. Mostly men currying his favor, trying to kiss his ass and get some shit from him, it didn't matter.
They had met Jamal, the meeting taking place right next to my room. Now, looking back at it all, it might have been all his fault. If he hadn't been so desperate to keep me in his sight, things might have turned out a bit better.

The world seemed to fade away as I stood outside the closed study door, my heart pounding in my chest. I had overheard fragments of my father's conversation with the Jamal, snippets that bore an unthinkable revelation.
And it was as terrible as it was scandalous.
I cautiously approached the door to the study, hoping to catch some snippets of conversation between Jamal and my father. Uncertainty gnawed at my gut, but the need to uncover the truth outweighed my grip on patience. As I pressed my ear against the door, the familiar voices drifted into focus.
"I never expected you to fall for someone like her, Jamal," my father's voice carried a tone of accusation. "She bears an uncanny resemblance to the black witch who caused us so much pain."
Jamal's voice grew firm, defending his position. "I understand your concerns, but Methis is not responsible for the past. She and I have a connection that goes beyond appearances."
My father's voice dripped with disdain, fueling my anger. "Connection? Or is it merely the fact that she resembles that witch? Are you truly capable of loving someone without being swayed by superficial similarities?"
I couldn't believe my ears. My father, the man who had always supported and respected Jamal, was now questioning his motives. Anger surged through me, and without thinking, I pushed the door open and stormed into the study.
"What are you insinuating, Father?" My voice was sharp, laced with a mix of frustration and disappointment. "Jamal's choice in love should not be questioned or belittled."
My father's eyes hardened as he turned his gaze towards me. "Laura, you should stay out of this. You don't understand the danger that lurks beneath the surface."
Jamal, who had been silently observing our argument, stepped forward, his voice tender but resolute. "Laura is right, Mr. Thompson. Methis has shown me a depth of love and understanding that I never thought possible. She is not to be blamed for the actions of someone from the past."
My father's frustration boiled over, his voice rising with each word. "You're blinded by your own desires, Jamal. I see right through this charade. You chose her because seeing her face reignited the vengeance in your heart!"
"Dad!"
"GET OUT" He yelled. I stood my ground, unwilling to move, Jamal had to see this, he had to see that was on his side, that would make things a whole lot easier for me.
"Leave, Laura." He said quietly.
I turned and left, slamming the door behind me.

And so they continued, deep into the evening. My father stormed out with his party, forgetting to even come to check on me, he was that angry. I didn't need him to, I had enough now to do what I had to do.
Jamal, had fallen in love with a black witch fifteen years ago—a witch who was responsible for the death of his parents, unleashing chaos upon the entire werewolf world.
A mix of shock, confusion, and anger rushed through me as I tried to process the weight of this knowledge. How could Jamal fall for someone so dangerous, someone who had caused so much pain and suffering? And now, fate had brought Methis into his life, someone who eerily resembled that evil black witch.
Thoughts spun in my mind like a whirlwind, and to put off the storm within me, I felt pushed to share this information. I knew it was a dangerous path; meddling in the affairs of the heart could have bad consequences. But my jealousy and my desire to protect Jamal from potential harm pushed me.
I had to do what I had to do.
With a determined glint in my eyes, I spread the news to the servants, my voice laced with urgency. "Did you hear? Methis—Jamal's current flame—resembles the wicked black witch who brought destruction upon his family!"
Their expressions were all the same, they wanted to know more of the story, wanted to figure out exactly what was going on, but I was in no mood to share, this had to be enough to cause the damage I wanted.
"Spread the word immediately, but ensure everyone knows."
Whispers and murmurs filled the halls as the servants absorbed this startling revelation. Rumors spread faster than wildfire, fueled by the fear and curiosity that gripped their hearts. I watched as side glances and hushed conversations became the norm, my secret now inserted with the threads of their own fears and doubts.
Things were about to get very interesting.
