When the party is over, Raymon offers to drive Ella home. Before getting into the car, she still couldn't help but look at Maria. He stood at the car door looking at her as well, his eyes seemed to have a thousand words to say.
She waited for him to walk over to her, but he didn't, and finally, he turned around and got into the car. Seeing that car disappear, she completely lost all hope.
Raymon is driving on the road. Ella sat next to her. The two of them were silent. After a while, she said. "Thank you. You always show up when I'm sad, and let me know that I'm not alone. You are a best friend."
Raymon thinks that in her heart there is only David. The good sides of him, she didn't know, but unexpectedly, she knew them all.
But, he's not used to being thanked by others, he's a bit unnatural. "I am not as good as you say. But I will always be with you, listening to all your problems."
"Do you think I'm taking David away from Maria?"
"You are his legal wife, why are you afraid?" Raymon was like someone trying to calm a small child.
"He and Maria have known each other longer than me. When I see them together, I feel jealous inside. I can not stand it."
"But he doesn't love Maria, does he?" Raymon tilted his head, looking at the side of her face.
"I know but I am still threatened by Maria. You see, David chose her as his dance partner today."
Raymon smiled. "You also have a dance partner. I'm your dance partner."
"You're right. With you, I am not alone. I want to do something to thank you."
"My birthday is coming up, as long as you're with me on that day, you'll thank me."
"Yes," Ella replied.
Raymon stopped the car in front of Anthony's mansion. Ella got out of the car. Raymon also got out of the car.
"Thank you for driving me home," Ella said thanks again.
"Don't thank me again." Suddenly something flew toward Ella. Raymon quickly grabbed her shoulder, pulling her to the right. His hand caught the arrow.
Ella panicked. "What happened?"
"I do not know. You go home."
Ella just nodded and opened the door, entering the house.
Raymon looked at the arrow, knowing immediately who shot it. In this world, there is only one person who hates Ella.
Although he said that he would cooperate with Maria, it did not mean killing Ella.
In a dimly lit room, Maria receives a call from the man she hired to assist her in harming Ella.
"Is everything done yet?" Maria asked, her voice low and cold.
"No. The man beside her saved her."
Raymon? A name appeared in Maria's mind.
"Okay, on to the next plan." Maria gave the person instructions before ending the call.
She angrily threw her phone on the floor. 'Damn, he said he would cooperate with me, why did he save her?' She gritted her teeth.
Ella entered the bedroom and found David already sitting on the couch and staring at her.
"Why did you come back now? You and Raymon, what did you two do?" He asked her with a cold voice.
Ella felt David's question was an insult to her. "We didn't do anything. What about you and Maria? You brought her to the party, why did you call me over?"
"All because my mother forced me."
"Everybody knows I'm your wife, but at the party, you danced with Maria, which made me lose face. Have you thought about how I feel? I know you're a filial son but you've never fought for your love." Ella looked straight at him.
David was silent for a long time, sighing wearily.
"If you listen to your mother and choose Maria, then I think we can continue to keep the husband and wife in the contract. After three years, we will part."
"No. You know how much I love you. Give me more time so I can convince my mother to accept you." David walked up to her and stroked her hair. His voice was soft and gentle compared to before. "Let's not put a strain on the relationship because of other people."
"I have always been waiting for you, but what you gave me was just disappointment. Your choice today, means you slap me in the face. Without Raymon, I don't know what to do."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about me, I'm fine," Ella said and took her clothes to go to the bathroom.
"After you shower, let's talk," David said before she closed the bathroom door.
After fifteen minutes, Ella came out with wet hair and a bathrobe. With a calm expression, she said. "Say what you want to say."
David looked at her and said seriously. "You know I don't love Maria but I can't leave her. I care for her the way a brother takes care of his sister. I hope you understand my situation. Then I will make everything clear to her."
"What if she still doesn't understand?"
David was silent for a moment. "No matter what, I still love you. It's true."
"Can I trust you again?"
"Maybe. As long as you believe me, we will be happy." David nodded in confirmation.
"I feel uncomfortable when I see you with Maria," Ella said in a low voice.
"I know. But my heart is always here, beside you."
Her eyes lit up when she heard what David said. They ended the conversation and went to bed.
He hugged her tightly while kissing her forehead. He whispered in her ear. "I love you so much."
The next morning, both of them woke up later than usual. Ella lay in his arms and her arms wrapped around his waist.
A little embarrassed by his actions and tried to slowly get out of bed. But before she did, David reached out and pulled her body back into his arms.
"Don't go." He said in a hoarse voice.
"You don't come to the company?"
"I'll be a little late."
"No, you're the general manager, you shouldn't be late."
Hearing that, he laughed and let go of her waist. Both of them had breakfast in the dining room and then went to work together.
During the lunch break, Maria and Raymon went to a secluded corner to talk.
"Why did you save her? Why did you ruin my plan? Did you forget that you would cooperate with me?" Maria said with an angry look.
"But that doesn't include murder. It's against the law, going to jail." Raymon said seriously.
"I don't care. I just need to get Ella out of David's life. I don't tell, you don't. We'll do this in secret."
"I don't think your way is the best."
Maria thought for a moment. "Okay. The best way is to let her sleep with you. She will be shocked and will divorce David. Besides, Mrs. Emma will never accept a daughter-in-law like that. You get what you want. I want, I get what I need. How?" She is confident with her plan.
That's what Raymon wants, but something's holding him back.
"You do not want?" Maria asked again when he was silent for a long time.
"Of course, I would. But..."
Before Raymon could finish his sentence, Maria cut him off. "Good. I await good news from you." She said and left.
Raymon wants to go to bed with Ella to satisfy his lust, but this gentle girl makes him stop his actions many times.
