Dylan
I was just at the third step from the door of our bedroom when I felt a pang banging my chest.
Gasping, I looked around, but got no one but my wolf to ask what was going on with me.
“What's with all this pain? Why do I feel like someone is beating me?” I asked inside my head. I was sure that my wolf had felt the pain too. But I got no response; instead, it was leading me somewhere.
Holding the railings of the stairs, I sat on the step and clutched on my chest, as I felt a sharp pain as if someone was jumping over my body and breaking my rib.
Breathing exasperatedly, my forehead knotted as my wolf continued to whisper something to my head.
“What do you mean? You can't take over my body all the time! I won't allow you! We're not in a battle or something. It's just a plain day today,” I growled at it.
But the pain in my chest just became even more intense.
“I said you can't! Just stop!” I shouted at my wolf. My pupils dilated, and I felt a new surge of energy within me as my wolf finally took the lead.
“Cherry,” I murmured to myself. I glanced back at my bedroom before standing up.
“D-Dylan, help me...” My wolf heard a weak voice from a woman calling my name.
“Dylan...help me...I-I need you...” The voice continued to murmur. My head couldn't just grasp why I heard this voice and who it belonged to. But my wolf was familiar with it and very much affected by what was happening to her.
**********
“Dylan!” The voice of the woman vanished when my father's voice sounded on my way out of the pack house.
“Dad? Where are you here?” I asked in surprise.
“It's about Cherry. Look, son, we all know Cherry loves you more than anything. She couldn't possibly hurt you. There must be a misunderstanding...”
“Cherry!” I mumbled to myself, and then I took a step back and turned around to run towards my car.
“I need to save Cherry. The voice is from Cherry! She needs our help! Am I right?” I asked my wolf. Instead of giving me an answer, my wolf urged me to drive faster and it took me the police station.
“Alpha,” greeted the female chief officer.
“What brought you here?” She asked, and I noticed she sent a subtle look to the other officer at the same time. “Is there something that we can do for you?”
“Cherry. Where is her?” I demanded.
“Oh, the suspect, and mastermind of your accident. You're here for her, right? She's probably sleeping in her cell now.” The chief officer then walked towards me. "I assure you that she's not gonna escape, Alpha.”
“I need to see her.” I said word by word.
“But it's not visiting hour now, Alph...”
“Dylan...” I heard her voice again and following it, I found my way to a cell in the prison.
“Alpha, you're not allowed to be here.” The chief officer ran behind, trying to stop me.
My wolf felt a surge of anger when I saw Cherry, the woman who was claimed to intend to kill me, lying unconscious on the floor of the prison in blood.
“Open the goddamn cell now!” I growled the chief officer. Wasting no time, she opened the gate herself.
I ran towards Cherry immediately. Holding her in my arms, I lightly tapped her cheeks covered by blood and wounds, trying to wake her up.
“For all the pains that I was feeling earlier… was it because you were getting beaten up?” I asked Cherry, but got no response because she was still in a coma.
“What the fuck happened here? Why did she get beaten her up? Was she supposed to stay with these inmates before she is found guilty?” I demanded the chief officer.
Before I got an answer from the office, the medics came to take Cherry to hospital.
**********
Standing in the parking lot of the police station, my wolf calmed down as I watched the ambulance drive away.
“I will make sure to question those inmates sharply, so we'll get to the bottom of this, and we'll find out how their fight started.”
I heard the police officer spoke when Chelsea rushed over.
"Oh you're here Dylan!" She pulled me into a tight hug.
My eyes didn't leave the direction where the ambulance left until I felt a few drops behind my ear.
I didn't pay much attention to this matter, thinking they were Chelsea's tears.
Just when I was about to raise my hand and wipe the drops, a sudden dizziness overpowered me.
"Dylan, are you okay?" Chelsea asked, tears welling up in her eyes.
My forehead knotted at her words, and I got even more confused when I saw blood on my hands.
“Where do I got all this blood on my hands? What am I doing here?” I asked the chief officer, who looked just as confused as I was.
“You don't know how you got here, Alpha? And that you saved Cherry?”
“I saved Cherry?! Why would I save that woman?! She's up to kill me!” I spat at her, and then Chelsea popped behind me.
“Officers, just leave this to me from here. Thank you for all these.”
“It's such a relief to have you around, hunny. But what are we doing here?” I turned to Chelsea when we were left alone.
“I've no idea either. I followed you here when you suddenly left the pack house. Maybe your wolf took you here. How about we go home first?” She proposed, with fiery anger in her eyes.
