Getting away with the Alpha's Pup

Chapter 73

Ch. 73 / 231 Apr 27, 2026

Cherry

My heart skipped a beat. Fear spiraled through my body and the only thing that I could think of was to go to Dylan right now.

Bert blocked my way. “Where are you going Cherry?”

“I need to see Dylan. I need to know how is he now.” I tried to walk past him, but he didn't budge.

“Jason told me that Chelsea is there looking after Dylan now.”

My jaw clenched at his statement.

“Bert, please. Dylan is my mate. I need to be his side now...” My voice cracked, and Oliver started crying.

I turned my back to Bert and rocked my body to hush Oliver.

“And you'll go see Dylan with Oliver? You know we cannot let Chelsea know about Oliver!” Bert warned.

“Go ahead and check on Dylan. Just give me a call as soon as you got there. And keep an eye at Chelsea too.” I held Oliver tighter in my arms, finally giving in.

Bert nodded, reaching for Oliver's small face before leaving. But then he turned back again. “I'm going to give Mike a call.”

“Why? Why call my father?” My forehead knotted.

“I'll ask him to send Fern to Daisy, and then come back here to take Oliver to a safe place from Chelsea.”

I shook my head as soon as he was done speaking.

“No, Bert. I cannot leave Oliver, now that I've been away from Fern. No. I'm not going to do that.”

“Cherry, we have no choice. If you want to win Dylan back and stay by his side, you have to stay away from Oliver for a while. That's all for the best.”

“But Oliver is just only one-month old. I…" I stopped talking, weighing the decision I had to make now, and finally decided to accept Bert's proposal.

“This is just temporary, baby Oliver. We will be together again, me, your father and your older sister. I will fix this,” I mumbled to my son and then looked up to Bert.

“I'm proud of you, Cherry. You're as brave as always."

Under Bert's gaze, I dialed my father's number.

“Hey, sweetie. It's late now. Everything all right with you and Oliver?” My father's voice sounded from the other end.

“C-Can you come back here? I need you to take care of Oliver for a few dasy. But send Fern to Maisy first.”

“Anything went wrong, honey?” My father's voice was filled with concern.

“Please, Dad. Just come over and do as I say. I'll explain everything later.”

Bert had packed up everything Oliver would need.

**************

“I know Dylan had an accident. But I just don't understand why you are doing this, Cherry.” My father's expressions were full of confusion.

“Dad, I'll explain everything to you once situation gets better.” I held my father's hand, feeling strength from him.

His eyes softened as he was staring at me. I felt like a six-year-old girl, and dad was my knight who would do everything to protect me.

“I'll take good care of Oliver and wait for you back, honey.” Father patted on my shoulder.

I nodded my head at him. “It's getting late dad. You should leave now. Call me once you're home.”

Standing beside the car, I crouched and kissed my baby one last time before closing the door.

After seeing dad and Oliver off, I breathed deeply and then turned to Bert.

“I called Jason. He said that Chelsea is out now. She'll be away for about an hour. We can go see Dylan now.” Bert opened the door for me. On the way to Dylan's hospital, I was shaking in my seat anxiously.

“Dylan is in a stable condition now. Don't worry,” Bert tried to calm me down.

As soon as Bert pulled up in the hospital's parking lot, I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out of the car. As I rushed inside the hospital, Bert was following closely right behind me.

“What is Dylan's room number?” I asked him through mindlink.

“Fourth floor, west wing… at the VIP section room 408,” he answered.

“Who is guarding his room?”

“No one. All deltas are now loyal to Chelsea, so I asked them to patrol around the hospital.”

Bert's words slowed down my steps.

“All the deltas are loyal to Chelsea? But I'm their Luna. If there's someone they should be taking command except from the Alpha and you, it should be from me and not that sly woman.” I was vexed.

The next minute, I was caught off-guard when Bert suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me to crouch down and hid in the corner of the hallway.

“Be quiet!” Bert was covering my mouth to stop me from creating any noises.

Bert pointed at the woman whose back was facing us, and then the male doctor.

Then I saw that dark green hair. It was Chelsea!!!

“I thought Chelsea won't be back until an hour later. What's she doing here?” I asked Bert via telepathy.

Bert once again placed his forefinger over my lips, and then pointed at Chelsea and the doctor.

Getting Bert's message, I began focusing on what Chelsea and the doctor were talking about.

“What do you mean by Dylan is getting his memory back?” Chelsea asked Dylan's doctor.

The Doctor looked around before getting started. “I'm sorry miss… but I need to talk to the patient's wife.”

“I'll be his wife soon. You can tell everything about his conditions to me!” Chelsea said in between gritted teeth.

The doctor got intimidated by her anger and submitted to her. “As you can see in this MRI, the patient's brain is having a lot of activites. Thess spikes up tell us that he's getting fractions of his memory back.”

After exchanging a glance with Bert, I came to the doctor. “Hi doctor, I'm the patient's wife. Can I go talk to him—”

“What are doing here, you bitch?! I thought that you'd banished yourself!” Chelsea was shocked at my sudden appearance. Shen then narrowed her eyes at Bert.

“You fucking dimwit! You know Dylan doesn't like having her around. Why did you bring her here?!”

“Cherry wishes to check up on Dylan. She is his Luna. She has the right to know about Dylan's condition and find out what happened to the Alpha.”

Chelsea smirked at me. “Bitch, I think you know that better than everyone else. Tell me, what did you do to hurt Dylan again this time?!”

“What the hell are you talking about? Why would I hurt Dylan? How could I? It has been months since I saw him last time. What can I possibly do to my mate—” I was astonished at Chelsea's question.

“You're such a conniving bitch!” Chelsea came over to grab my hair, and then she pushed me towards the ground. The anger in her eyes reminded me so much of Lucy.

“Cherry!” Bert shouted, and then turned to Chelsea but also pushed away by her.

Chelsea's eyes then landed on my belly. "You finally gave birth to that bastard, huh?”

“Cherry had a miscarrage when you pushed her during the chaos at the designing competition. And that's Dylan's baby.” Bert chimed in while helping me up from the ground.

Then the police arrived.

“Officers, what happened to Dylan? How did he get in an accident?” I asked.

They looked between me and Chelsea before saying anything, not sure whom they're supposed to talk to.

“This is Cherry, Dylan's wife, Sir,” Bert introduced me, which once again ignited Chelsea's anger.

“OK. We found that someone intentionally cut off the break from your husband's car. He couldn't slow down in the slippery road and end up in hitting at the concrete barricade.”

My jaw dropped at this information.

“Do you know anyone who could have possibly done this to your husband?” The officer asked.

I glanced at Chelsea. Although I had no idea what she was up to, I knew she was capable of orchestrating an accident like this.

“It must be her! She threatened Dylan when he asked for a divorce!” Chelsea pointed at me.

“Chelsea, what the hell are you saying?” Caught off guard by the accusation, I yelled at her.

“Dylan told me that you had threatened to kill him if he divorces you!” Chelsea exclaimed, acting all innocent and pitiful.

“You're a liar! I never said something like that!” I was furious at this charge.

Both Chelsea and I shut up when we suddenly heard buzzes from the officer's radio.

“The culprit got caught. He admitted cutting off Dylan's break, and he said that he took command from someone named Cherry.” The officer said coldly, while I fell down on my knees at his words.

“I knew it! You want Dylan dead, Cherry! How can you be so evil, huh?" Chelsea was showering me with all those curses.

When taken away by the police, I noticed the delight of revenge in Chelsea's cold eyes.
