Getting away with the Alpha's Pup

Chapter 106

Ch. 106 / 231 Apr 27, 2026

Dylan

Howling towards the sky in frustration, I resigned myself to stepping into Bert's car.

On our way back to the pack house, my wolf sensed a familiar presence approaching close to the border of Starsmoon's territory.

"Drive to the border!" I urged Bert to step on the gas immediately.

“Got it! Are you feeling anything?” Bert turned the wheel sharply while asking.

“My wolf alerted me that someone familiar was on its way here. It could be Cherry.” I answered honestly, and then mind linked Jason to stay alert.

“I got her, Alpha Dylan!” Jason reported right after we arrived at the border. "This woman has the sigil of the Whitemoon Pack."

In his hands caught a she-wolf with a pale complexion.

“She's the sole survivor of Fenrys and Lucy's slaughter of the Whitemoon shifters. What're we gonna to do with her, Alpha?”

“Bring her to the pack doctor for treatment." I said in disappointment before turning back to the car.

“I still can't feel our mate.” My wolf kept whining. It was getting more and more restless.

Soon, Bert pulled over in front of the pack house. I gazed up at the window of the master's bedroom, hoping that Cherry was peeking down and waiting for my return. Like she always did in the past.

“Alpha?” Cecile, our omega housekeeper, greeted me as I walked inside the house. She was on the telephone.

“It's Fern. This is the second time she called today.”

I took the telephone reciever from her hand and sat on the couch.

“Daddy! We've arrived here in Berlin!" Fern sounded thrilled after returning to the place where she was born. "When are you and mommy gonna come? I wanted to video call you, but Nana said that there's something wrong with your phones.”

“Fern baby, something happened in Lord Hills. Mom and I have to reschedule our flight to Berlin. But we'll be there as early as we can. Be a little more patient, huh, my princess?” I cooed her.

“As long as you and mommy will call me every day. Can I talk to mommy by the way? I miss her.”

“Uh...now?” I squinted my eyes and ransacked through my mind for a valid excuse. “It's not a good time now, dear. Mom is doing charity work at the outskirts. It's almost Christmas, you know.”

“Oh, I almost forgot that. We're gonna celebrate Christmas together, right?”

My heart clenched at Fern's question.

“Of course, sweetie." After managing to force an answer out of my mouth, I decided to change the subject. "By the way, can you do daddy a favor and put Nana on the phone?"

“How's everything going back in Starsmoon?” My mother asked nervously in a small voice after taking the phone from Fern.

"Fenrys' got defeated now. No bloodshed happened to Starsmoon. But Cherry's gone. I couldn't find her anywhere. But I'm not gonna give up. Cherry will be back.” I tried to sound reassuring to my mother, and to myself.

“May Nuu-Chah blesses us." My mother sounded heartbreaking after learning this news. "Keep us updated, okay? I'll try and keep Fern away from the phone. Sorry about today.”

“Thank you for taking care of my pups, mom.”

After putting the receiver down, I ran my eyes around the empty house. Tears rolled down my cheeks before I even knew it.

My footsteps took me to the window subconsciously. The fullmoon shone brightly in the sky.

Fullmoon? It was fullmoon night today!

An idea popped into my mind.

"I have to talk to Nuu-Chah again. She has everything to do with Cherry's missing!"

After ordering everyone to leave the pack house, I opened up all the windows to the master bedroom and lit up tons of candles. Then I painted Nuu-Chah's symbol on the floor.

With everything done, I knelt in the middle of the room, placing my hands against each other and closing my eyes.

“Nuu-Chah hear my pleas, grant me the thing that my heart desires the most. Nuu-Chah hear this lowly shifter's plea...”

I kept chanting when a familiar scent of a she-wolf loomed in the room.

My blood froze and my heart skipped a beat.

“Cherry...”

I fluttered my eyes and there I found my mate standing in front of me, her smile shining brighter than the fullmoon.

I rose to my feet and rushed to take her into my arms.

“This isn't a dream! I can touch you! I'm holding you! You're back!” My wolf purred at hers.

Relief washed over me after I felt our bond back. “Are you all right, baby? What happened to you? Is it true that you've been with Nuu-Chah when I couldn't find you?”

Nodding at me, Cherry ran her fingers along my cheeks, yearning for me. She missed me as much as I missed her.

“I'll be with you soon, my mate. But for now, we can only meet on fullmoon nights," Cherry said before kissing my lips.
