Getting away with the Alpha's Pup

Chapter 84

Ch. 84 / 231 Apr 27, 2026

Dylan

Losing the last bit of sense, my wolf stormed into a thick forest, mumbling in anguish all along the way.

"How come I feel such huge pain when I'm supposed to be stronger after getting mated to my Luna?"

YOUR WOLF LOST ITS TRUE MATE. Suddenly, Bill's words at the party sounded in my mind.

“Could Bill be true? That Chelsea is not our true mate?” My wolf asked me.

“That's ridiculous!” I snarled at it. "Chelsea saved my life!"

"That doesn't necessarily make her our mate. Believe it or not, I'm never myself when Chelsea's around."

"Hey! Chelsea's willing to do whatever to protect..." I stopped when I recalled that vengeful stare she shot at Cherry at the party.

It was understable that she was envious or hostile to Cherry. But vengeful? Wouldn't that be too much? If someone was supposed to be vengeful towards Cherry, wouldn't it be me?

Was there something else that I missed?

"Cherry! Go talk to Cherry." My wolf advised.

"Would she be honest with me?"

"I can tell if she lies." My wolf assured me as I finally found some peace and fell asleep.

Yet a sharper pain in my chest woke me up as my eyes opened to meet the first glow of sunrise.

My wolf started to sprint deeper into the forest. It didn't stop despite the bleeding claws, until a lively community appeared in front of me.

Just as I was trying to figure out where this place was, an Audi came into my sight, stopping in front of a grand villa.

The next minute, I saw Cherry getting out of the car! Together with Bill, Alpha of the Lune Pack!

My feet froze to the ground as I gasped for air. There was a forceful pang crushing my chest.

The pain intensified as I saw Cherry smiling at Bill.

“Could it be that I'm feeling hellish because Cherry was with another man?” I thought to myself.

My wolf dashed towards the car before I figured out an answer.

Bill was leaning towards Cherry, as if about to kiss her.

"Get away!" I snatched him away and threw him a hard punch. "How dare you touch her!"

"Dylan?!" Cherry cried out, surprised to see me here.

"Oh, Alpha Dylan? Welcome to my territory!" Bill greeted me with a smirk, wiping the blood off the corner of his mouth. "Sorry to tell you. But Cherry came to me early this morning, asking me to take her back here."

"She left without my permission!" I said through gritted teach.

"Your permission? Does she need that? Cherry told me that you'd rejected her as your Luna. That means she's free to go wherever she wants." Bill teased me.

"Cherry is mine! She belongs to the Starsmoon pack. She is mine!! She must go back with me!" I reiterated, not knowing why I was saying that.

"I don't think that's gonna work, Dylan. But I promise that the offer I made at the party still counts." Bill's tough attitude irritated my already weakening wolf right away.

I thrust my claws towards him again as he dodged me swiftly. Then a continuous throw of punches landed on my body non-stop, until Cherry broke him off from me.

“Stop it, Alpha Bill! This is enough!”

He withdrew the fist one inch away from my nose, but remained standing steps away from me.

“Alpha Bill, please! Fern's still asleep in the car. She would be heartbreaking if she sees her dad like this.” She pleaded.

Bill nodded and gestured his beta to drive into the villa. It should be his pack house.

“Are you okay?” Cherry looked at me, worried all over her eyes.

I felt less pain as Cherry got close to me.

"She cares for us!" My wolf got excited.

"Go back to Starsmoon with me." I sat up from the ground, gazing at her.

"That's not gonna happen, Alpha Dylan." Cherry refused stoutly. "Just leave here. Stop provoking Alpha Bill. He's strong. You're no match for him."

“But my wolf is starting to feel better with you around me now.” I reached out to stop her leaving.

“I don't understand.” Cherry's attitude turned cold.

"I need you answer some questions before leaving." I thought of the talk between me and my wolf in the forest.

"Shoot!" Cherry agreed after exchanging a glance with Bill, as if asking for his opinion.

"Did you really drive Chelsea away from Starsmoon because she's my true mate? Why has my wolf been agitated after I returned to Starsmoon? What did you do on earth to Chelsea and me?" I asked, looking into her eyes.

"I'm afraid I've no answer to your questions, Alpha Dylan." Cherry was aloof.

"You'll have to figure it all out by yourself. But don't ever come to me whatever you find out.” With that, she left with Bill.

"Mate! She's our mate!" My wolf urged me to stop her, but it was too weak to move. Especially after this fight.

Bill was right. I was weaker than before. But was really because I was losing Cherry? My true mate?

Just as I was musing on all these messes happening in my life recently, I got a mind-link message from Bert.
