Cherry
After pulling over in front of an abandoned factory, Dylan unfastened his seatbelt quickly. But before pushing open the car door, he slowed down and tilted his head in my direction.
“Why don't you just wait here? Bert and I will get this done.” His forehead crumpled. I could tell that he didn't want me to get close to any possible danger.
"I'll be safe with you. We're an invincible pair, remember?" I took his hand and caressed on its back gently.
“Did he spit anything?” Dylan asked as we walked towards Bert and Jason.
They had tied Hugo to a pole in this gloomy and cold factory, a knife dipped in wolfsbane in Jason's hand.
“He's still giving me a hard time,” Bert shook his head in frustration.
"Don't ever dream of getting anything from me!" Hugo snarled savagely.
Instead of beating about the bush, Dylan snatched the knife from Bert. The next minute, it was stabbed into Hugo's thigh, causing Hugo to howl in pain.
"Ahhhhhhhh!" He gritted his teeth in anguish, but couldn't do anything about the knife as his both hands were tied up.
“Be smart. Tell me why you're helping Lucy, or this knife will kiss your heart.” Dylan took a step closer to Hugo, withdrawing the blade from his thigh.
“Hugo, we'll spare you as long as you tell us the tru—” Sick of the bloody scene, I tried to be tactful with him but got interrupted.
“Shut the fuck up, slut! What do you take me for? A fool? I know that even if I tell you everything, you'll still kill me.”
“Dylan!” I blurted out nervously. Hugo stopped breathing for a moment. He couldn't even blink his eyes as the blade of the knife was just millimeters away from his pupil.
“You shouldn't be talking to my mate like that.” Dylan's wolf was irritated by how Hugo cursed me.
“D-Don't...” Hugo uttered nervously as I dragged Dylan away from Hugo.
“Shoot!” Bert gave him a kick to the knee.
"Chelse—Lucy's a good friend of my daughter Hyacinth. She was there with Lucy when you announced war against Bloodmoon. But my poor baby got killed in a car accident when she fled from Bloodmoon." I could see the tremendous sorrow in Hugo's eyes when he recalled his daughter's death.
"Hyacinth's a sweet, lively kid. I'd never lose her if you didn't come back from Berlin!" Hugo darted a gaze of hatred at Dylan and me.
"I wanted to avenge Hyacinth's death on you, but Whitemoon is too small to rival Starsmoon. Later, Lucy came to me after getting banished. I decided to adopt her as my daughter now that Hyacinth was gone."
"Then you sponsored her with facial surgery and schemed against Starsmoon with her?!" Bert was furious.
“Not wrong. I helped Lucy once again, but she kept failing. Maybe it's Nuu-Chah's will that Starsmoon shan't be blamed for Hyacinth's death.”
“It's not too late for you to make things right. Tell me where Lucy is." Dylan pinched Hugo's chin and made him stare into his eyes.
“S-She's...in a c-cabin...in the western part of Whitemoon's territory." Hugo choked until Dylan loosened his grip. "Her wolf is dying after Nuu-Chah delivered her your message that you severed your bond with her.”
“Lead the way to the cabin now!” Jason untied Hugo from the post and gave him a thrust before he barely kept his legs.
**********
“Nuu-Chah, you took forever to come here! How are we supposed to avenge Bloodmoon and Hyacinth…"
The rest of the words choked in Lucy's throat as Jason kicked the door of the cabin open.
“Fuck, you stupid traitor!” Lucy shouted at the sight of Hugo. "How dare you turn your back on me?! Hyacinth will never forgive you if she knew we fail to avenge her because you're a coward!”
“Stop your evil tricks, Lucy!” I leaped towards her, grabbing her arms to make sure that she wouldn't escape again. "You know Hyacinth died because of you!"
Chelsea rattled her arms in an attempt to get away from me, but my hands clawed at her firmly.
“You bitch! This is not the end of it! I'll come back and haunt you even if you kill me! I'll fucking kill you all and burn your pack to the ground like you burned mine!” Lucy cursed.
"Enough!" Dylan's patience ran out. He took Lucy from me and pointed a knife at her throat. "You've always been a selfish and heartless woman, Lucy. I had known that before Cherry returned from Berlin to attend the mating ceremony between you and me. I'd never make a woman like you my Luna!"
Lucy quieted down under Dylan's knife.
"If I didn't guess it wrong, you'd never taken Hyacinth as a real friend. You made friend with her because of Whitemoon's heritage in witchcraft and wolfsbane."
"Oh my! No wonder Hyacinth took wolfsbane with her before departing for Bloodmoon! I thought she brought it for self-protection!" Hugo was slack-jawed.
"Lucy, you've been using my daughter and me all this time! How dare you!" He tried to break from Jason and charge towards Lucy, but failed.
"You used this wolfsbane on Cherry during the battle and then on me back in Maldives! You knew I'd lose memory so you planned all this so as to take revenge on Starsmoon! You're really a devil, Lucy!!!"
"No!!!" Lucy shouted out as Dylan was to press the knife into her throat. "I got your baby, Dylan! You cannot kill me..."
"Crack!" The knife in Dylan's hand fell onto the ground. Dylan was struck dumb at this news, just like everyone else on site. It was like his world was falling apart.
“Feel it if you don't believe me!” With the knife being away from her throat, Lucy took Dylan's hand to her belly.
“You're pregnant with my pup—” Dylan finally came up with a few words after snapping back to reality from shock.
