Getting away with the Alpha's Pup

Chapter 99

Ch. 99 / 231 Apr 27, 2026

Cherry

I rushed over as Dylan busted out of a black Jeep Wrangler that stopped right by the roadside.

Holding me tenderly in his arms, “How are you?” Dylan asked with great concern.

“I'm sorry. I should have listened to you. None of these troubles would happen if I didn't insist on bringing Lucy out for a check-up.” I lowered my head with regret, but Dylan was quick to lift it up. Our eyes met, and his wolf purred at me, which helped me to calm down a bit.

I broke free from Dylan as Bert's Ducati pulled over next to Dylan's.

“Have you got them?”

Bert nodded at me and handed me a case, where the champion rings of Starsmoon's Epsilons lay.

“What do you need this for? Does it have anything to do with Lucy's escape?” Bert looked at me in bewilderment.

“The Epsilon who helped Lucy escape had his face covered, but there was something special about his scent. It's different. We would be able to track him down once I got a whiff of his scent.”

Dylan stood next to me, gazing at the briefcase as I ran my fingers through these rings.

“It's not here. I cannot smell his scent among these rings.” I told them in frustration while putting the last champion ring back to the briefcase.

“That's weird. The champion rings of all Starsmoon's Epsilons are here." Bert looked puzzled.

“Except that this Epsilon hasn't fought for his ring yet!” Dylan was struck by this sudden idea.

“Ravi?” Following Dylan's idea, Bert cried out the Epsilon's name. "He's gonna fight for the ring later this year."

“Ravi? Is that his name?”

"Not wrong." Bert nodded at me.

“Anything special about him?”

“Ravi's no different from other Epsilons. I don't think there's anything special..." Bert racked his brains, trying to recall more details about Ravi when something suddenly popped into his head.

"Oh, Ravi is solitary. No one wants to make friends with him, because he's a bastard of a shifter and a white witch.”

"He's a hybrid? " I was quite surprised at this information but still couldn't figure out an answer to what was going on now. "But why's he helping Lucy?"

"Show me the video you took the other day when Lucy made out with the shifter!" Dylan demanded suddenly.

"I think I've got the answer." After playing the video once again, Dylan finally said meaningfully.

"You mean Ravi's the shifter that Lucy had been hanging out with?" I spoke out Dylan's conclusion.

"If I didn't guess it wrong, Ravi is Lucy's true mate." Nodding to confirm my guess, Dylan continued. "It's the only reason that explains how he's able to work with Lucy on this escape plan."

“We need to find them as soon as possible, before they did something crazy.” I looked worriedly at Dylan, who held my hand tightly.

My wolf listened to Dylan attentively as he commanded all deltas to patrol along Starsmoon's borders and increase the force at all check points.

Lucy

I coiled up and closed my eyes when Ravi's truck came to a sudden halt, thinking that we got caught.

As the light from the lamp post forced my eyes open, I saw Ravi staring at my legs.

“You scared the hell out of me!" I cursed through gritted teeth, rolling my eyes at him.

“Lucy…" He trailed, his eyes fixating on my legs, which finally brought my attention to them.

“Fuck, no!” I mumbled, worrying that I could lose my baby as blood continued to cascade down on my legs.

“We have to go to hospital.” Ravi insisted as he helped me out of the trunk and to the shotgun seat.

“There's a hospital five kilometers away from here. We're going there.” Ravi started his engine, maneuvering his steering wheel.

I gripped on his arm, which made him glance at me.

“Don't worry, Lucy. You and our baby will be all right—”

“Are you stupid? Am I the only one who has a functioning brain here?”

“Lucy—”

“I jumped out of the window of that forsaken comfort room just now! They knew I have a sensitive pregnancy! What makes you think they're not sending deltas to search for me in hospitals?!”

“Fuck!” Ravi cursed in frustration.

As I continued to bleed, the possibility of a miscarriage began to penetrate into my head. Then I heard a group of deltas moving towards my direction.

“Drive away from the check point!” I demanded Ravi.

Yet he simply held the steering wheel tighter, with no hints that he'd follow my order.

“Didn't you hear me? I said drive away! Those deltas are dispatched by Dylan. They're waiting here for me!”

“No, it's not. Just trust me, mate.”

“You're putting me in danger! How am I supposed to trust you?” I spat angrily through gritted teeth, but Ravi only smirked confidently.

Out of the tearing pain from excessive blood loss, I crouched down as Ravi drove to the check point.

My heart barely beat as he rolled down the window. for a sec, and before the delta does a further inspection.

“Let them through! This is an emergency." The head of the group announced before a delta came over for inspection.

As the deltas unblocked our way, tears escaped the corners of my eyes, because my wolf delivered bad news.

“We're lucky it's a fullmoon day today. My special ability from my witch mother finally came in handy. We're heading to the hospital right now—”

“No need for that,” I said to him in a cold tone. After finally catching up my breath, I rested my back on the shotgun.

“Why not? You've seen what happened at the check point just now. They let us through because I was able to hypnotize them with witchcraft. I can do the same to protect you and our baby—”

"You should have done that earlier because there's no baby to protect now!" I couldn't help but sob. "Our pup is gone. I was bleeding for...too long."

"Cherry, you'll pay for this!”
