“Loser, Loser… Major Loser… A jerk! Ahhhh I can’t believe this is supposed to be the best club in Tokyo!” Yuki remarked over Angela’s shoulder as she checked out the men in the club. They were either at the bar or standing around staring at women, cat calling and making creepy perverted jokes. Nothing has changed. It was still the same old story. “I know what you must be thinking isn’t Japan supposed to be this conservative country, where men and women live a life of fairy tale romance…” Angela cuts in with a hand raised. “Actually… I am not here to find a man, Yuki. I am here because you wanted to dance so why don’t you?” “Oh Angela, you really think I asked you to come along to the club with me so you can watch me dance? Of course, you are not here to find a man, but I will certainly find one for you. There has to be one man in this place that will be right for you. Even if he wasn’t Mr. right, he could be a start”. Angela slapped her forehead. “Please Yuki. We are not going through this again. I told you already. Many times (groaned) I have no interest in having a relationship”. “That was five years ago, the reason being that you found out you were pregnant for your ex! You are not getting any younger sweetie. You have to move on”. Yuki replied. “Yuki… I have moved on”. Angela said sadly. “No you haven’t! And you know it, it’s been five years already. How long will you wait? Look sweetie, I am with a child, heavily pregnant so don’t you play down my efforts. I came out here to get you a date and a date you must have!” Yuki snapped with a frown. Angela rolled her eyes in frustration. “This is a place for all kinds of men, I understand if you don’t like Japanese men like that”. “I never said that, Yuki. Japanese men are great”. “Very well. There must be someone here who will be interested in dating you. You are a very attractive woman”. “Excuse me”. A voice called from behind. Yuki and Angela urged their head and saw a Japanese man in his mid-thirties. He was decent looking and seemed harmless. Yuki gave him a smile then winked at Angela. “Would you like to dance?” He offered, flashing a nice set of teeth. Before Angela could say a word. “Of course why not! She is fully single waiting to mingle!” Yuki pushed Angela towards the stranger. “Sorry I don’t dance”. Angela replied apologetically. “My bad”. The man replied awkwardly. “I am so sorry”. Angela said again. “What!” Yuki yelled in disbelief. “Sorry”. Angela continued to tell the man as he nodded and walked away. “He is a handsome young man, he is a catch! How can you turn him down!” Yuki snapped angrily. “You and Doris, I don't know who is more annoying. I am out of here. My kids will be worried by now”. She picked up her phone and put it inside her purse. “Those kids need a dad and you know it. You need to get out of your shell Angela. Please, I am begging you”. Yuki replied, petting her tummy. Angela stood up, facing the exit door. “Well, this is not the best place to find a dad. I know you meant well, Yuki. Moreover, I know you must have discussed this with Doris, but I am not ready for a new relationship. I am sorry Yuki”. She said sadly and left the place. “Oh Angela”. Yuki muttered. *********** As soon as Angela stepped out of the Tokyo club, the chilly winter air enveloped her, and the soft snowflakes gently caressed her skin. She had wrapped herself in a sleek, black coat with a fitted silhouette, trying to ward off the chill of the winter night. Underneath the coat, she wore a fitted, dark red dress that hugged her curves and her legs were clad in black tights, and her feet were encased in ankle-high, black leather boots with a subtle heel. A delicate, silver lock necklace rested against her skin, a special gift from Mama Elizabeth, which she never really took off. Her brunette hair cascaded down her back in loose waves. The neon lights of the club's sign and the bustling streets of Shinjuku's nightlife district cast a vibrant glow on the snow-covered sidewalk. The sound of laughter, music, and chatter filled the air, but Angela's heartfelt heavy. The snowflakes fell around her like tears from the sky, mirroring her emotional state. She wasn't ready to move on, and the thought of being set up with someone new felt like a betrayal to her past love. The memories of her with Antonio lingered, and the pain felt like an open wound. She hasn't forgiven herself for believing Damon and betraying Antonio for the second time. All he wanted was an explanation. And now, she can't say if he is alive or dead. The news from years ago declared him missing, and the new heir of Montero's world was Damon. Could it be that Damon's plan was finally accomplished? Angela wrapped her arms around herself, trying to warm her heart as much as her body. She gazed out at the snow-covered streets, feeling lost and empty. For the past years, she had tried her best to be there for the twins and her baby Junior. The voices of Doris and Yuki advising her to keep the baby came replaying in her head. “You want Antonio to at least forgive you? Why then do you plan to abort his baby”? “He is the real heir to Montero's world, not Damon. If anything happens to Antonio, you should return him to his family when he is of age”. However, Angela wants nothing to do with the Montero's again then how can she escape that by carrying the Montero's offspring? Doris and Yuki won her at last and she gave in. That was five years ago. Angela sighed heavily. The Tokyo cityscape, usually so full of energy and excitement, now seemed dull and uninviting. The snowfall, usually so magical and romantic, now felt like a reminder of her emotional numbness. She wasn't ready to let go of the past, and the present felt so empty. Yuki's enthusiasm and encouragement about finding a new man echoed in her mind, but Angela couldn't shake off the feeling of hesitation. She needed time to heal, a thousand years won't be enough to get over Antonio Montero. She felt her eyes wet.
