Mrs Gabi stood by the small window of their room, peering out into the moonlit night. She couldn’t help the smile that crept across her face as she watched their quiet cute but awkward interaction. She's been there for some time now, like a spy in the shadows monitoring them. Suddenly, Gabi’s heart fluttered when she noticed the tender look in Antonio’s eyes, a look she hadn’t seen in him since he lost his memory. “Lucas!” she whispered urgently, turning toward their bed. “Get up and come see this.” Lucas groaned, rubbing sleep from his eyes as he sat up. “What is it now, Gabrielle?” he mumbled, but he shuffled over to the window anyway. When he saw what Gabi was watching, his sleepiness vanished. Outside, on the sandy shore in the moonlight. Antonio and Hinata had drawn closer. Lucas chuckled, a wide grin spreading across his weathered face, looking proud of Antonio. “About time,” he said quietly, his voice full of affection. “My boy Diego deserves some happiness and needs to move on.” “Hinata is such a pretty young woman, they will make such a perfect match”. Gabi whispered. They stood there at the window, side by side, watching the tender moment unfold. Lucas reached over and took his wife Gabi’s hand, squeezing it gently. Lucas quietly backed away from the window and called his wife in a whisper. “Come on, Gabrielle, let’s get back to bed and leave them be.” He winked. Gabi nodded, her heart still brimming with joy,still watching the love birds. Luca shook his head seeing that she was stuck there in excitement. “Come on,” Lucas said again, this time he gently took his wife Gabi by the hand, leading her away from the window. “Let’s go back to sleep.” ********************* Two days later, the sun was just beginning to rise as Antonio and Hinata stood outside the door, bags packed and ready for their journey back to Japan. A cab driver waiting in the background. The crisp morning air was filled with the scent of the sea, and a soft breeze rustled through the trees. Despite the early hour, Mr Lucas and his wife Gabi were there to see them off. “Leaving so soon, eh?” Mrs Gabi said, a note of sadness in her voice as she hugged Antonio tightly. “Feels like you just got here, son.” Mr Lucas added and shook Antonio's hands. Antonio smiled back at them, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “I know, father, but work calls and we had to catch our flight. I’ll come back as soon as I can, next time I will stay longer.” Mrs. Gabi stepped forward, giving Antonio another warm hug. “You’d better be back soon,” she said with her eyes wet. “We will be expecting you, okay?” Antonio hugged her tightly, feeling a slight tightness in his heart. He had grown fond of his new family, of Lucas and Gabi’s love and care. “I promise.” Antonio replied and kissed her forehead. As they pulled away, Gabi turned her attention to Hinata, who stood beside Antonio with a shy smile. “And you, my dear Hina,” Mrs Gabi said to her with a soft smile, “Make sure you take good care of him. We wouldn’t want anything happening to our Diego.” She hugged the young lady. Hinata blushed, nodding eagerly. “I will, Mrs. Gabi. You can count on me. I will take good care of Diego-San.” Mr. Lucas cleared his throat, his expression suddenly turned mischievous. The two women separated and turned their attention to Mr Lucas. “Speaking of taking care, we couldn’t help but notice… You two seem to be getting along nicely more than on the first day here.” Antonio and Hinata exchanged a quick glance,then looked down shyly, both of them suddenly feeling exposed. “W-what do you mean?” Antonio stammered, trying to play it cool. “Oh, nothing much,” Mrs Gabi said with a knowing smile. “Just that it’s nice to see young love blooming. And, well… the walls are thin around here. Sometimes you hear things, or see things…even in the dark, like through a window.” “Exactly”. Mr Lucas added and winked. Hinata’s blush deepened, her hand flying to her mouth trying to die her little laugh. Antonio’s ears immediately turned bright red as he realized what they were hinting at. He rubbed the back of his neck, suddenly feeling awkward. “Well… uh… thanks for letting us know,we will be more careful next time!” Antonio said nervously, trying to change the topic. Mr. Lucas and his wife Gabi laughed, satisfied by the reaction they had sparked. “Safe travels, you two,” Lucas said, clapping Antonio on the back. “And don’t forget to call when you get back to Japan. “I’ll stay in touch as always.” Antonio replied. “Take care!” Mrs. Gabi waved. She watched sadly as Antonio and Hinata entered into the car, waving at them. The cab driver engaged the engine and drove away. Lucas and Gabi watched the car disappear down the road, an uncomfortable silence settling between them. Lucas turned and found Gabi still emotional. “He will be back soon”. He consoled her sign hand placed on her back. Gabi cleaned her wet face. “I know, I am just happy, I will be expecting a grandchild as soon as possible”. Lucas rolled his eyes. “Gabrielle, you have high expectations for the kids, let them grow a little in their relationship”.
