OWN IT THIS TIME

Ch. 237 / 312 Apr 03, 2026

However before Damon could act, the faint rumble of engines grew louder, cutting through the stillness like a thunderclap on the horizon. Damon’s eyes flickered with shock as he glanced toward the source of the noise. Suddenly, the area was flooded with the roaring sound of power bikes and sleek, black cars. One by one, they emerged from the surrounding woods, forming a circle around the helicopter and Damon’s men. The vehicles skidded to a halt, their engines purring menacingly, and doors swung open in unison. Antonio’s mafia men stepped out, each one a figure of lethal precision, clad in sharp suits and dark shades. The sunlight glinted off the weapons they carried with practiced ease—automatic rifles, handguns, and more. Their presence was a stark contrast to Damon’s men, who were now visibly shaken, their earlier confidence wavering in the face of the overwhelming force that had just arrived. The men on power bikes circled the area like vultures, their engines growling as they revved up, a warning to anyone who might think about making a move. The air was thick with the scent of burning rubber and the metallic tang of imminent violence. Antonio’s men fanned out, their movements synchronized and deliberate, each one ready to act at a moment’s notice. They of course outnumbered Damon’s crew by at least three to one, and it was clear that they were seasoned professionals, far more formidable than the mercenaries Damon had brought with him. Antonio, still calm and composed, glanced at Damon with a slight smirk. “It seems you underestimated me,” he said, his voice dripping with quiet menace. “Did you really think I’d walk into this without a plan of my own?” He added. Damon’s grip on the gun faltered, his eyes darting between Antonio and the encroaching mafia men. He had planned for many things, but this—this overwhelming show of force—was quite impressive. The realization that he was outmatched dawned on him with cold clarity. Antonio’s men moved in closer, their weapons trained on Damon’s crew, ready to strike. The air was electric with the anticipation of violence, but for a brief moment, everything stood still, as if the world itself was holding its breath. One of his men forward and loosened the cuff around Antonio's hands. Antonio stretched his fingers and flexed his hands to demonstrate his freedom. Then afterwards,he took a step forward, his gaze locked on Damon. “This ends now,” he said, his voice carrying the weight of authority. “Drop the gun, Damon. You’ve lost.” Damon’s smirk deepened. “You always were the clever one, Antonio. But this time, I’m holding all the cards. You lost and I win” Antonio was confused at his statement for a second. Not a single fear was found in Damon's eyes. Could it be that he had more plans? The sound of shuffling feet broke the tension as Antonio’s men slowly turned their weapons away from Damon and pointed them squarely at Antonio. For the first time, Antonio felt a chill of doubt creep down his spine. “What is this? Have you all lost your minds!” He yelled. “Surprised, brother?” Damon’s voice came and was laced with satisfaction. “You always thought you were untouchable, that your men would follow you to the ends of the earth. But loyalty, it seems, is just another commodity—and I’ve been in the business of buying it.” Antonio clenched his fists, his mind churning with thoughts of betrayal and vengeance. He was cornered, alone, surrounded by enemies who had once sworn allegiance to him. But even in this dire moment, a fire burned in his chest—a refusal to accept defeat. “Is this how you think you’ll win, Damon?” Antonio spat, his voice low and dangerous. “By turning my own men against me? You may have bought their loyalty, but you’ll never have their respect.” Damon chuckled, his confidence now absolute. “Respect doesn’t matter when you’re the one holding the gun.You see, Antonio,” he said softly, “the problem with power is that there’s always someone willing to offer a better deal. And you, with all your pride, never saw it coming. This is my victory, Antonio. You’re finished.” “How cheap they must have been then”. Antonio replied dryly. Damon chuckled. “Not at all, I guess I am not the only one sick of you feeling like a god and taking out your anger on poor innocent souls, it seems they had their own reasons and prejudice”. Antonio lowered his eyes shamefully. Seeing that expression Damon smiled and stepped closer. The gun still in his hand, but now more a symbol of his triumph than a weapon of necessity. “Get in the helicopter, Antonio,” Damon ordered, his voice dripping with finality. “I’ve planned this for a long time, and I’m going to make sure no one ever finds your corpse. You deserve death in grand style.”
