“Angela? Are you okay?” Ken’s concerned voice broke through the fog in Angela's mind, pulling her back to the present. She blinked, realizing she had been staring at Antonio, wide-eyed and speechless. Her eyes slowly went to the name tag on Antonio's shirt. DIEGO? Ken looked at her a bit embarrassed with a mix of worry and confusion. While Antonio shifted uncomfortably under her gaze, clearly puzzled by her reaction. Angela forced herself to breathe, to regain herself and control her emotions that were threatening to spill over. Her hands were visibly shaking, itching to hug him, but enough scenes had been created already. “I’m…. I’m sorry about all this,” she managed to say, her voice shaky. She quickly turned away from Antonio, trying to hide the turmoil raging inside her. “Just… a little overwhelmed, that’s all. It's not about you…my apologies.” She avoided his eyes this time. Antonio nodded politely, though his brow furrowed slightly, as if he sensed something wasn’t quite right. “If there’s anything else you need, please let me know,” he said as professional as he can be, trying to cover up his awkwardness. Angela was silent. “Sure, we will”. Ken replied instead with a smile then immediately returned his gaze to Angela and studied her. Her eyes were still down cast. Antonio excused himself and left Angela's table, he had to turn and glance at Angela one more time. That is the first something like that had happened to him. He has been mopped by female admirers in and out of the restaurant, but this is the first time someone reacted like that towards him. And not to talk of…this brief encounter with that lady. He felt strangely anxious, his heart raced crazy. Those eyes of hers, they looked like they knew something. He saw every detail in them, and also noticed the freckles on her face. “When was the last time I paid such attention to a woman before?” He asked himself and walked away. Angela’s mind raced, desperately trying to comprehend what had just happened. She looked back at Antonio. Why didn’t he recognize her? Why is his tag Diego? Why is he so gentle and polite? A waiter? Could it be that Antonio decided to fake his identity, or could it be that he genuinely didn't remember her? If so, then he must have lost his memory! She knew she had to keep herself composed, at least to respect her date. “So what is that all about? Your expression just now… it really scared me. You looked like you were about to collapse, and your face is soaked with tears.” Ken cuts into her thoughts. He has been watching her all these while acting all strange and talking to herself spacing out while he sits there like he isn't even existing go her. Angela blinked and shifted her gaze up to meet his. “I am… I am so sorry about that, please don't be offended”. She pleaded with her head bowed. “You can't even look up to my face. What a date!” He scoffed trying to keep his emotions in check. “I am so sorry… Ken. I sincerely apologize”. Angela pleaded again. “Is he your ex?” That's question was so unexpected. Angela's eyes snapped open. She looked up at him, tears rolled down her eyes. “I knew it…from his reactions he seems not to care about seeing you with a new man…do you think he is still worth your tears? You are not over him, I see”. “I… I don't think he remembers…..maybe he lost his memory…. I am just happy he is alive…that's all that matters…”. Angela replied slowly, another flood of tears rushed down her face ruining her makeup. “How tragic!” Ken snapped. Meanwhile, across the restaurant, Hinata had watched the interaction between Antonio and the stranger with growing irritation. She had noticed how women couldn’t resist making passes at Antonio, whenever they saw him. His looks attracted attention wherever they went, and she was used to dealing with envious glances and female admirers acting clingy. But this time, it was different. The woman wasn’t just stealing glances; she was openly staring, and she was here with another man! Hinata’s annoyance was understandable. She thought about how shameless this lady must be to act in such a way in front of her date. However, she decided to keep it aside until there's a chance to talk to Antonio about it. When Antonio returned to their table, she couldn’t hold back her frustration any longer. “What was that all about, Diego-San?” Hinata demanded, her voice low but filled with irritation and jealousy. “Why was that woman staring at you like that? And why couldn’t she even look at her date?” Antonio looked back at Angela then met Hinata’s furious eyes. “I’m… I'm not sure,” he replied honestly, his brow furrowed. “She seemed upset, but I don’t know why. I just served them their drinks.” Hinata’s eyes narrowed, her frustration only deepening. “Well, it was weird. The way she acted, being all in your face staring at you like that .” She paused, trying to push down the jealousy that was boiling up inside her. Antonio sighed. “Maybe she is just stressed, to be frank. I felt very anxious after her gaze. Like she knew something or maybe not”. Hinata pouted with her hands folded in front of her heavy bosom. “Just… be careful, okay? Women are always looking for a reason to get close to you, and I don’t like it.” Antonio smiled at her and kissed her. “Don’t worry,” he reassured her, trying to ease her mind. “I’m only there to do my job. I have no eyes for another.” Hinata blushed and hit him on the chest playfully. “Stop kissing me like that, out of nowhere . We are at work else you will get us fired”. She whispered and giggled. From the distance, Angela forced her gaze off them and met the offended expression on Ken's face. “I am sorr y, Ken … . I can't go on with this… I am so, so sorry.” She cried. She stood up and had a low bow before running out of the restaurant creating a scene.
