Angela sighed, her eyes avoiding him. "Jace, I've made up my mind." Jace shook his head, his expression unyielding. "You're making a mistake, Angela. You're running away from your problems instead of facing them head-on." Angela's face tightened in a firm line. "I'm doing what I have to do, Jace. I have to put our family first, and this is what's best for us. Staying isn't safe." Jace's eyes widened in surprise. "What do you mean by staying isn't safe? Is there anything I am yet to know?" Angela said nothing. The kids stopped at the elevator and Angela caught up with them. Jace sighed and carried one of the boxes. As they stepped into the elevator, Angela pressed the button for the first floor, and the doors slid shut behind them, closing the door on a tumultuous past. The elevator descended, and the four of them stood in silence, Angela's mind calculating all that Jace said to her. As the doors opened on the first floor, they stepped out. The cab driver approached them. "I am so sorry Mr. Charles for wasting your time," Angela apologized. Mr. Charles simply smiled. "No problem, I got a van too, it will cost you more but I guess it's necessary…" He pointed to the van and the driver waved. "Well that's thoughtful, we have plenty of luggage, thank you," Angela replied with a broad smile. The two drivers helped Jace to put the boxes inside the van. Jace and the driver went back to the penthouse to get the rest of the luggage. Finally, they all settled into the cab, the journey started, and the van driver followed their car immediately. Angela took a deep breath and sighed loudly. Liya, sitting beside her, placed her head on Angela's thighs. She was sitting in the middle while the twins stayed by her sides. Angela caressed the hair and smiled at her. "Excited?" Angela asked. "Just nervous," Liya replied. "Don't worry, you don't have to be, it's a nice place. And the neighbors are friendly too, the kids are super sweet. I know one thing, you two will make plenty of friends there." Jace, seated in the front seat with the driver, smiled hopefully, listening to their conversation. He had left plenty of friends behind too but worrying and complaining won't help Angela in any way… The vehicle merged onto the highway, and the city gave way to suburbs and eventually, the open road. Angela pulled out her phone and dialed Doris' number, waiting for her friend to answer. "Hey, Doris! It's me, Angela. We're on our way to your place," she said slowly knowing how surprised her friend would be. "To my place? What are you doing Angela? (Sighs) Are the kids with you?" Doris' warm voice came through the line. Angela took a deep breath, feeling a mix of emotions. "Yeah. We're all packed up and on our way." Doris sighed heavily, and her tone turned sympathetic. "We will talk when you get here, I saw the Live Angela and I am so sorry about that also confused I need answers. Anyway, you and the girls are always welcomed here. And Jace, too, of course!" Angela smiled, feeling grateful for her friend's support. "Thanks, Doris. That means a lot coming from you. We can't wait to see you, and the twins want freshly baked Pizza." The twins' faces lit up as she mentioned that. Angela winked at them. "Really? Well, lucky dolls, that's just what I was about to make!" Doris exclaimed. "I'll get everything ready for your arrival. See you soon!" "Yeah, see you soon, thanks again." "Don't mention it honey, bye." Angela hung up the phone, feeling a sense of relief. "So we have a Pizza waiting," she announced to the twins. "Yeah! My favorite," Lia snapped in excitement. Angela smiled at them then slowly she looked towards the window. Her heart felt like she was forgetting something behind. They are really doing this. Leaving the city and Montero's Penthouse. Liya leaned in, her eyes shining with excitement. "Can we get a new dog? Please?" Angela chuckled. "We'll see, baby. Let's get settled first, okay?" As the cab continued on its journey, Angela's thoughts drifted back to Antonio again. She wondered what he was doing at that moment if he was thinking of her. "That would be a silly delusion, not after he is back with Diana, and she told him about her initial plan with Damon." She pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the journey. A few minutes after they were gone, Antonio's driver pulled into the penthouse parking garage. Impatiently Antonio opened the door by himself, his heart racing so hard, his breath burns. He had been thinking about what Diana told him about Angela all night, and he couldn't wait to see her. He had ignored calls from her brother yesterday out of anger but now, none of them are answering his calls! He had some questions to ask, and he hoped she would give him the right answers. He walked towards the elevator, his footsteps echoing off the marble floors, the continuous ringing of Angela's unanswered calls sounding from his phone. It will be countless to get the number of times he had tried to reach her. As soon as the doors opened, he went inside and pressed the button for the penthouse floor. The elevator doors slid open, and he stepped out into the foyer. But as he looked around, his heart skipped a beat. "It's empty." He cursed under his breath.
