Don't toy with me: sexiest man of the year

TOO LATE TO REALIZE

Ch. 222 / 312 Apr 03, 2026

Grandma Elizabeth, in her wheelchair, moved down the corridor of the Montero clinic, pushed gently by Antonio's cousin Courtney. Courtney had been staying at the Montero's as a support to her Grandma since Antonio gone crazy over the disappearance of Angela. The poor old woman needed her now more than ever, and she made sure to be there for her. “Did you get any information from the maid in Antonio’s Mansion, today?” Grandma Elizabeth asked Courtney as they stroll through the red carpeted hallway heading to the clinic. “Yes I did, and …(paused sadly) it wasn't a good news Grandma, the men came back with absolute no results concerning Angela nor that bitch Diana”. “And Antonio? How was he feeling about all this?" “No one has been sent to the clinic again…. I guess it's not that bad or could it have gotten worse?” Courtney asked. Grandma Elizabeth sighed. "Poor Fox. His rage has surprisingly grown cold, and I wonder how he manages his emotions at this time”. “The maid confirmed that he left his mansion after the brief meeting with his men…to look for Angela himself I suppose, he does care about her”. Courtney replied. Grandma Elizabeth sighed again. “I am worried about my dear Angela…if his men had truly searched the city, and she's nowhere to be found, then she might be in grave danger… I am yet to get answers about Diana and now this… I hope Angela is safe”. “Let it not affect you, Grandma, it's possible that she might have moved to a far state…let's be hopeful at least we have Angela's sister Kerry here in the Montero's mansion, she might tell us Angela's whereabouts”. Courtney pointed out. “Antonio asked her before, but she didn't know anything about Angela's disappearance”. “Maybe she wasn't being totally sincere with Antonio, I just hope that's the case”. Courtney suggested with hope. “My darling Angela, she's been through hell for Antonio's sake… I hope they can be able to fix this, most importantly safe and alive, I hope Angela could give me my precious Antonio back again.” Courtney felt Grandma Elizabeth quiet sob, she knew how biased she was with Antonio being her favorite grandchild, but knowing Antonio's childhood struggle he needs that love and more. The air was suddenly thick with tension as they approached the Montero's clinic in silence. Inside, the room was stark and clinical. Kerry laid on the bed, her face bruised and body bandaged from the torture she endured at Antonio's hands. Nurses attended to her, adjusting IVs and checking monitors. She was given a private room from the Montero's servants, who were sent to unconsciousness and bedridden by Antonio. Elizabeth and Courtney entered the room, the nurses immediately bowed, before leaving one after the other. Kerry looked up at Elizabeth and Courtney, attempting to sit up straighter despite her obvious discomfort. “You don't have to sit up”. Courtney said softly to her. However, Kerry was trying hard to be respectful, it was something she learned too late and the hard way. “I am honored by your visit, Mama Elizabeth”. She said weakly. “How are you feeling?” Elizabeth's voice was soft but carried a weight of concern. Kerry attempted a weak smile but failed. “To be frank… I am not doing very good, Grandma Elizabeth. But not about my physical health, I appreciate your hospitality and the nurses were doing their best for me. I am just dead worried about my twins, my elder sister and my little brother Jace (sobs). I had a terrible dream about them, it's not a good feeling and I….am scared…”. She lost control and cried quietly. “Excuse me please”. She wiped her her wet cheeks, trying to hold herself. Courtney stepped closer, her expression, mixed of sympathy and sadness. “Don't be afraid… Kerry…you need to be strong and pray for your family's safety, crying won't solve the problem. I strongly believe Antonio will find her…you may not know, but he knows every corner of this city…and his Men are very capable, so he will find her….” Kerry's voice trembled. "He thinks I know where Angela is. I tried to tell him I don't”. "Still, he had no right to treat you like a slave, please understand he was frustrated”. Courtney replied. "Thinking about it now, I deserved it, so I have no right to be in any way offended about his torture”. Kerry sobbed. “Don't talk like that”. Grandma Elizabeth scolded. “What about the ex-girlfriend Diana? The one who conspired with one of his men to hurt Angela?” Kerry asked no one in particular, gazing from one person to another. “She is nowhere to be found and no information on her was positive”. Courtney replied sadly. “That's not good …not good”. Kerry panicked. Grandma's Elizabeth reached out and held her. “Antonio will get to the bottom of this, my dear. He'll find Angela and your twins and your brother, you don't have to be scary okay?” Kerry nodded, tears slipping down her cheeks. “Thank you so much for caring about my family.” “Angela is also our family, you need to rest, okay? Nothing is going to happen to your sister”. Grandma Elizabeth said softly. Kerry nodded with her lips pressed tightly, she gently lay back on the bed, staring at the ceiling. A thought suddenly crossed her mind, bringing a glimmer of hope to her tired eyes. She looked at Elizabeth and Courtney, her voice faint but urgent. "I just thought of someone. Angela's friend, Doris. Maybe she knows something.” Kerry sobbed. Elizabeth's eyes sharpened with interest. “Doris? Do you think she might have seen or heard from Angela?” “It's worth a try. Doris and Angela were close. She might have some idea where she could be. If not, then Angela is truly in Diana's captivity….but let's make sure,” Kerry replied sadly. Courtney looked at her grandmother, then back at Kerry. “That's a good idea, but I am certain Antonio must have done that…and he confirmed that Diana was the one behind Angela's disappearance also Damon”. “Yes...I also overheard the phone call ….but we …should contact her too and confirm ourselves please…please, that is all the hope I have now”. Kerry added, in tears, trying not to accept Courtney’s answer. Courtney’s gaze softened, filled with pity for her. “Courtney, please call Doris. Ask her for any clue, any piece of information, could help us find Angela.” Grandma Elizabeth instructed. Courtney nodded. "I'll get my phone”, she said, stepping out of the room. Kerry watched her leave, a flicker of hope lighting up her wet agonist face. Elizabeth stayed by her side, squeezing her hands softly, silently promising they would do everything in their power to bring Angela and her nieces back safely. Courtney returned with her phone and dialed Doris's phone number as the two watched and listened impatiently. “She is not picking up!” Courtney snapped in frustration, pacing the room as the phone rang. “Please keep trying”. Kerry pleaded. Courtney gave her a thumbs up and continued. When Doris finally answered, the relief on their faces was very visible. "Hello, who am I speaking with?” Courtney cleared her throat, trying to maintain calm and elegant. “Doris, it's Courtney Montero”. There was a pause. Montero? She heard Doris murmur. “How may I help you?” Her phone was sharp. “I'm calling on behalf of Kerry, Angela's sister. We need your help.” “Kerry? Oh, now she decides to care?” Courtney glanced back at Kerry and Grandma Elizabeth. Kerry's guilty face explains everything to her, she must've been in bad terms with Angela and Angela's friend knew.
