Antonio's phone buzzed with an incoming call, breaking off the warmed hug. The persistent tone reverberated off the high ceilings, echoing through the cavernous room. “Could it be Angela?” He thought and took out his phone from his pocket, he saw a voicemail notification from Angela but was distracted by the unknown name incoming call. He also noticed it was an unfamiliar number flashing before him. Curiosity piqued, he hesitated for a moment. “Angela?” Grandma asked interrupting his thoughts. “No…no Grandma, not Angela, excuse me a minute?” Antonio said to his Grandma, who nodded with a smile and watched him walk to the far end of the place. “Hello?” Antonio spoke, his voice filled with a blend of caution and curiosity. A soft and slightly hesitant voice responded on the other end. “Antonio? Is this Antonio Montero?” Antonio's eyes snapped open, and his heart skipped a beat and his knuckles turned white as he gripped the phone tightly. That voice! It reminded him of someone. It couldn't be, he is simply overthinking it! He wiped his face with his palm anxiously. “Yes, it is I, Antonio, speaking. Who is this?” Antonio asked, his voice tensed and nervous and his eyes darting around the room as if searching for the answer. His curiosity grew, he slowly put his other hand now in his pocket where he could squeeze them nervously without his Grandma suspecting his discomfort. “I apologize for the unexpected call, but there's something important I need to discuss with you. It's about someone you care deeply about,” the mysterious voice conveyed. Puzzled and slightly alarmed, Antonio's mind raced. “What happened to Angela?!” Antonio panicked. The caller went silent that minute. “Hello… Hello… Are you there? Who are you? Did anything happen to my …” “Is she the only one you ever cared about?” The caller interrupted when Antonio was about to find the perfect answer. The caller chuckled, a sinister edge to her laughter, then apologized to him. “I didn't intend to pry Into your private life”. Antonio swallowed tightly. “Who are you talking about?” Antonio queried, his voice tinged with concern. “Please, be more specific.” The voice continued, “I can't disclose much over the phone, but if you want to find out about the person you care for, meet me at the Lover's Bridge at sunset. I'll be waiting. You know the place quite well, don't you, Mr. Antonio?” Antonio's heart skipped a beat. The Lover's Bridge held special significance for him. “Why should I meet you? And why should I trust you?” Antonio pressed, his voice tightened with apprehension. The stranger let out a soft sigh. “Trust is a delicate thing, Antonio, but the truth has a way of unearthing itself. If you genuinely care about the person in question, this meeting may unveil a reality you're not yet aware of.” Antonio remained silent, still contemplating the implications of the unknown call. His mind swirled with a mix of doubt and the need for answers. It was a risk, but he couldn't ignore the urgency in the stranger's voice. The Lover's bridge mentioned should be a trigger, this person knows too much. He was unable to ignore, even if he wanted to. His concern for his suspicion outweighed his reservations. “Alright…” Antonio finally relented, his voice steadying as he tried not to sound nervous. “I'll meet you at the Lover's Bridge at sunset. But mark my words, if this is some kind of game, you'll regret it. No one plays such tricks on me” The stranger chuckled, messing up his mental state. Why does she sound so much like her? “I know what you are capable of, and also put on something nice…something you would wear to a date night, a white suit this time don't forget to pick your size, this time”. The stranger taunted, her tone dripping with mockery and humor. Antonio's mind flashed back to the past. “What…” The stranger hung up before he could ask any other question. Antonio stared at his phone for a moment, his heart beating so loud anyone close by could hear. He ran his fingers through his hair, his thoughts consumed by the impending meeting and the boldness in the voice of the caller. The Lover's Bridge, a white suit and oversized? Who the hell was that? Grandma Elizabeth, always astute and perceptive, immediately noticed the change in Antonio's demeanor. “What's wrong, fox?” she asked, concern etched on her wrinkled face. “You look like you've seen a ghost.” Antonio hesitated for a moment, unsure whether to share the mysterious phone call with his grandmother. Telling her that the indications and his suspicious is centered on Diana will not be well received by his Grandma. He walked towards her. “It’s nothing to worry about…. I just received a call from someone who wants to meet me tonight at some place…the thing is that it was someone unknown," he explained, his voice betraying his unease. “She wouldn't give me any details, why this meeting was important, but she made it sound important.” His grandmother's expression turned serious. “She? Some place…an unknown call? Are you still dealing with those Mafias, it's dangerous out there". Antonio chuckled. “I am dangerous”. He replied, taking out a cigar from his pocket. “You will never change, you are all I have left, you need to be careful, Antonio," she advised, reaching out to gently squeeze his hand. Antonio was touched by her last words. He wrapped his arms around her in a tight embrace, savoring the familiar scent of her perfume and the comfort of her presence. “It's not a big deal, I will be right back after this meeting”. He whispered, still hugging her. “You will be back with Angela, I need to see her, it's urgent”. She replied. “Alright, I will be back with Angela. Take care of yourself, Grandma," he said softly, and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Be careful.” His grandmother whispered before finally let him go. She was never this protective of him, she does care but this time, it was as if the little Antonio's back to her. She wanted to protect him so much so he won't turn out to be the old depressed Antonio, she couldn't protect. She could see that little boy instead of this grown man. Tears clouded her eyes, with a final glance at him. “My sweet little boy”. Antonio stepped out of the spa through the doorway, leaving the mansion.
