When Debbie heard this, her face turned purple with anger.
She took a deep look at Marilyn, who was keeping her head down.
Debbie wondered whether Malcolm had fallen in love with Marilyn as Velma said. Unconsciously, the way she looked at Marilyn became hostile.
She had watched Malcolm grow up and knew clearly that he was very serious about everything!
If Carolyn was here, she wouldn't have to arrange for Velma to marry Malcolm.
Hugo was a total playboy.
Velma would not gain happiness marrying him!
However, Carolyn was still missing. "How I hope that one day Lynn will suddenly appear by my side!" Debbie thought.
Looking at Malcolm's cold face, Debbie thought for a moment before saying earnestly, "Malcolm, you know that I asked you to marry Velma for a reason. Can you just fulfill my wish?"
Malcolm looked down. He knew what Debbie meant. After a while, he looked up at Debbie and smiled. "One day, I will find her and bring her back."
It was a short sentence but filled with sadness for the waiting he had suffered all these years.
Hearing Malcolm's words, Velma could not help but tremble. She suddenly realized that Malcolm would only marry Carolyn, not her!
She was heartbroken. Her only value to the Remington family was to marry Malcolm. If she failed to do so, in the eyes of the Remingtons, she was nothing.
"Malcolm!" Debbie looked at him with pity. She also wanted to get Carolyn back. But it had almost been twenty years. Was there any hope?
"Malcolm, it's impossible. Don't be so stubborn." Debbie knew about his guilt for Carolyn, and she also knew that Malcolm had been looking for Carolyn all these years.
Carolyn was lost because of him, but she did not want him to live in guilt for the rest of his life.
Finding Carolyn in hundreds of millions of people was like looking for a needle in a haystack. How was it possible?
Malcolm did not speak. He looked at Marilyn and curled his lips into a shining smile. Perhaps Carolyn was right in front of them!
Debbie noticed Malcolm's gaze and suddenly smiled. "Malcolm, I still have some matters to deal with in my company. I will arrange to meet with your parents another day to discuss the wedding between you two. I hope you will take it into serious consideration."
After saying that, Debbie took Velma away.
Before they left, Velma glanced at Marilyn coldly.
At least, before Marilyn appeared, Malcolm was neither hostile nor friendly to her, but he did not ignore her.
But now, he did not even want to see her.
As to Marilyn, she did not say anything but buried her head in the food.
She was very calm as if she did not care about what Debbie and Velma had said.
But she had kept it in mind. The obvious hostility from Debbie and Velma made her very uncomfortable!
This kind of coincidence rarely appeared, but it appeared twice on her.
It was all related to Velma!
Malcolm looked at her calm face and sat up straight. He smiled and asked, "Is there anything you want to ask?"
Marilyn looked up at his handsome face. He was smiling mischievously. She pursed her lips slightly and said at a moderate speed, "What does Mr. Lowe want to hear?"
Ask him if it was because of her that he did not discuss the wedding between him and Velma. Or had she deliberately appeared on the road to seduce him?
Malcolm smiled. He looked down and watched her cutting the sausage into pieces. He said in a clear voice, "Since Ms. Chapman doesn't have any questions, I have one. May I ask, where is your hometown?"
Marilyn looked at him with doubt. After hesitating for a moment, she asked, "Why would you want to know?"
Roland had deleted the records of her address and surname so that the Chamberses would not be able to find her.
While Malcolm knew the Chambers family.
At the moment, he was looking at her leisurely with his deep eyes fixed on her face.
Marilyn found his sharp eyes quite intimidating.
She looked out the window and avoided Malcolm's gaze.
But even so, she could clearly feel that Malcolm's gaze was still on her face. She was quite nervous because of that.
"Is it too private?" Malcolm didn't intend to let her go.
He could feel that she was nervous when she heard his question.
For ordinary people, this was a very normal question, but for Marilyn, it was difficult to answer.
At least for now, she didn't want the Chambers family to discover her identity.
Marilyn withdrew her gaze at the window and boldly looked into his eyes. She smiled and spoke calmly, "No. I grew up in Fielddell."
Hearing her answer, Malcolm felt somewhat relieved.
Julian had come back overnight and was already investigating the Chambers family.
They would soon find out the identity of the girl who appeared seven years ago.
Malcolm leaned forward a little.
Marilyn could smell a pleasant scent from his body, which was faintly enveloping them. She was a little nervous.
Malcolm didn't smoke and seldom drank. What he did most in his spare time was study.
He was also different from those spoiled brats who loved to spend the nights in nightclubs.
He would only go to karaoke with the employees after dining together.
To all the unmarried girls in Fielddell, Malcolm was undoubtedly the golden bachelor.
"So you are from Fielddell." Malcolm wanted to ask more, but he had to stop. He couldn't scare her and ruin everything.
He said in a gentle tone as he smiled at her. "Let's eat."
Marilyn nodded slightly. She was very puzzled by Malcolm's words and wondered why he asked that.
She had eaten very quickly.
Every minute with Malcolm was a torment for her. She had only stayed with him for half an hour, but she felt it was like ages.
At this moment, the scene of Arturo's piano competition was replayed on the TV.
Arturo's voice attracted Marilyn. Looking at Arturo's handsome face, she could not help but smile happily.
Dominic loved reading and playing on the computer, and Laverne liked drawing. She was proud of them!
Noticing her smile, Malcolm also followed her gaze to the TV on the wall.
However, the camera had cut to the emcee.
Malcolm withdrew his gaze and looked at her. Seeing that both of them had eaten a lot, he curled his lips in satisfaction and smiled. He felt quite enjoyed in the atmosphere.
