It was the close of work one day and Noah was good to go. He returned a few moments later because he had forgotten to pick the gift he bought for his wife. He stood in front of his table, his back towards the door as he wrapped the gifts. He was doing this when someone came from behind and hugged him. He dropped the gifts and turned, only to see Grace.
“What is that?”
“Noah, don't be hard on me. You know I still love you.”
“I don't want a repeat of this. I'm married now and I can't be having any affairs with my employee. I'm your boss and you should respect that. Is that clear?” Noah stated plainly.
“Common Noah. You can't be like this. Are you still mad at me?”
“I'm not mad at you and at the same time, there's nothing between us. Out of my office.”
When Grace saw that this approach wasn't working, she let go of him and left the office.
“Daddy!” Liam shouted as his father's car drove into the garage. He waited almost impatiently for his father to alight and when he did, he hugged him. Noah lifted him up and spun him around.
“My little boy is getting bigger every day. One day, daddy will no longer lift you up. How are you?”
“I'm fine daddy, and you?”
“I'm alright. Here, daddy got you this,” Noah handed him a shopping bag. It contained goodies and snacks which Liam loved so much.
“Thank you so much daddy!”
Noah opened the door to his bedroom and got in.
“Hey sweetheart. I'm back.”
Emily was seated on the bed and was putting on a bathrobe.
“Hi Babe,” she smiled and stood up.
“Is that for me?” Noah asked, a mischievous smile playing on his face as he looked at her bathrobe.
“Here, I got you a gift.”
Emily got to where he was standing and took the gift from him.
“Thank you so much, dear,” she said, placed the gifts on the bed and gave him a hug. The first thing she noticed was the feminine perfume coming from his clothes. This has never happened before. Noah squeezed her well shaped ass and guided her to the bed.
“Let's see what you've got for me.”
“Oh babe, stop. I was about to take my bath,” she protested weakly.
“That makes it even better. We can shower together and enjoy ourselves to the fullest. You know I love it there, right?” he teased and sealed her lips with a wet kiss.
As she helped her husband get dressed for the office the following morning, Emily didn't say anything about the feminine perfume she perceived from him the previous day. She decided to let the sleeping dogs lie. Her husband would never cheat on her and she was sure of that.
At work the following day, Noah was explaining something to Grace and giving her orders when she slowly covered the distance between them and hugged him again.
“Enough of this. Get your hands off me.” Just like he did the previous day, Noah warned her never to try such. She tried again on three different occasions to get close to him, or get him to hold and kiss her but they were all met with harsh rebuke. And for the second and third time, Emily could perceive a perfume on her husband's clothes but he didn't seem like someone who was having an affair or seeing another woman.
Grace, dismayed at her lack of progress, went back to her friend, Aria and asked for her advice. Aria told her what to do and asked her to try other approaches if the first failed.
Noah had returned from work extremely tired and went straight to the bathroom to have his bath. Emily picked his clothes and took them to the laundry. As she did that, a neatly folded letter fell out of the jacket. Out of curiosity, she opened it and to her greatest dismay, it was a well written love letter from a strange woman!! Why on earth will her husband accept a love letter and even keep it safe if he wasn't interested in that woman? This discovery left her shaken for days but she didn't say anything about it to Noah. She waited to see if he would ask about the jacket or any paper but he didn't ask such questions. Unable to contain her fears, she decided to ask her friend, Gu Yanxi about it without mentioning the actual fact to her. She took her phone and texted her.
'What does it mean if a woman finds a love letter written by another woman in her husband's clothes? And what is she supposed to do in that situation?’
Two minutes later, Yanxi replied.
‘'He’s cheating. If a faithful man receives such letters, he should tear it up immediately and tell the woman off outrightly. As for the woman, she should confront her husband quietly to avoid any serious issues. Why do you ask? Have you turned into a relationship adviser? Laughing emoji.’
Emily read her friend's response and shivered. Her husband was cheating? No, it can't be.
It was the weekend and Noah decided to take his family members out on a picnic. Emily and her son suggested that they go to the beach. They swam in the water and played beach volleyball. Noah was a great player and he taught his son how to play these games when he had the chance and during weekends and holidays. They played together for sometime before Liam went off to join other players on the beach. They also played other games like treasure hunt, flying the kite and pictures and videos were taken. It was indeed an exciting day. When they got home and rested, Emily, Liam and Noah decided to take a look at their pictures and the videos they created while at the beach. After a while, Noah excused himself to use the restroom while mother and son continued watching the video.
Just then, a message popped up on Noah's phone.
‘I enjoyed last night. Can you come again tonight?’ And a flirty emoji was beside it.
