Aidan thanked his father for the gift and the new couple were eager to go for their honeymoon. After the wedding, Noah waited patiently for his father to be chanced because he had a lot to ask his father. The issue with Grace was on his mind and he needed answers to it.
In answer to his questions, all Joshua had to say was this,
“There is no reason to keep dragging the issue. The mess has already been done and she's carrying your child.”
“Dad, do you believe that? I didn't sleep with her and she's not pregnant for me.”
“Alright son. Deal with the matter as you like. It's your family after all. But do not go public with that issue because it will ruin both your name and your new project.”
Noah said nothing more.
Noah didn't travel back immediately after the wedding although his wife did. She came up with some flimsy excuse to get out of his side and he concured. He spent more time with his father and then he used that opportunity to check his company that his sister has been handling. He was impressed to see that it was doing well just as she had told him.
Gu Yanxi and her husband had to cut their honeymoon short by a week. They only spent three weeks because Gu Yanxi said she wanted to be present for the grand opening of deep harbor project. As the date approached, Noah did all he could to reach his wife, so that she would be present during the occasion but she never answered his calls nor returned them. He didn't want to go home again, to avoid a repeat of the last time. Since she didn't answer his calls, he decided not to bother her.
While at the occasion, Grace hovered all over him like his wife. Save for the fact that people knew he was married to Emily, they would have mistaken her to be his wife. At some point, he had to chide her but her response surprised him.
“Well, I'm only making things easier for you.”
“What things are you making easier? Don't act like my wife. You are my assistant for this project and part of the team. Keep that in mind!”
“Why is your so called wife not here? I'm helping you so that when you announce me to be your wife soon, it will not come as a shock to the world. My baby will not be born out of wedlock,” she said and smiled sweetly at Noah. He was too shocked to speak and he didn't want to get offended on his great day so he chose to walk away. After all, that was the last day with Grace. The project would be completed that day and the team dismantled.
Now that the wedding was over, Elisha hired a private investigator to trail Gu Yanxi . Her revenge plan was in line. This private investigator reported Gu Yanxi’s daily activities to Elisha.
One day, Gu Yanxi decided to go to the mall to get some things for herself. Her husband didn't go with her because he was on a trip to Dubai. She entered the mall and bought all she needed. She got to her car, opened it and entered. The next thing she heard was,
“Freeze!” And she saw guns pointed to her head. What she didn't know was that Elisha's private investigator had followed her for so long and even made a fake key for her car and followed her to the mall. He sneaked into her car and sat on the back seat. An unsuspecting Gu Yanxi walked to the car and sat down without looking back.
With the gun pointed on her head, Gu Yanxi froze as instructed. The man behind her covered her nose with a handkerchief and made her sniff cocaine. This made her weak and she lost consciousness. The man put her in the car and drove off.
When she woke up, she found herself tied up and she was in a dark room. Her eyes grew accustomed to the darkness and the only thing she could make out in the room was just another chair.
What happened to her and where was she?
She heard a noise at the door and someone entered.
“Hello Gu Yanxi,” a familiar voice greeted.
Wait. Why did that voice sound like something she had heard before and someone she knows? The person saved her the trouble by turning on the light in the room.
“Elisha?”
“Yes dear. It's me. How are you?”
“Are you behind this? Why will you tie me up? What did I do?”
“Easy. Don't rush things. I'll answer the questions one at a time. I'm behind this and I tied you up because you don't deserve to be free. What did you do? You took my man away from me!”
Gu Yanxi looked at her in surprise.
“Your man? What do you mean? What man?”
“Aidan. Aidan is my man. He's my ex boyfriend and he left me because of you! Did you think I'll sit back and watch you take my man from me? I can't believe you were so daft and I love you for being foolish.”
“Aidan is your boyfriend? Why didn't you tell me earlier? I could not have gone ahead to marry him. I even told you the story. Elisha, I thought we are friends?”
“Of course, we are and that's more reason why I will not hurt you. I could have tortured you, beat you up or even killed you but for our friendship. I planned to get close to you and finish you off but I found out that you are actually a very sweet soul. Your friendship contributed a lot to my life and I looked forward to meeting you every single time. But then, Aidan is still my man and I don't want another woman to take him from me. It's not fair,” Elisha explained.
“Elisha please let me go. We've come too far in our friendship for you to do this to me. Don't do this. Untie me and let me go. I promise, I won't breath a word of this to anyone.”
“Not so soon. I'll let you go but you have to do something.”
“Tell me, what do you want me to do? Elisha why are you doing this? You know how much I value this friendship. You know I love you with all my heart. Don't do this please.”
“Leave Aidan. That's all you need to do.”
