Contract Marriage; Fated Love

Chapter 125

Ch. 125 / 137 Mar 20, 2026

“Please, don't be like that. Just this once, let's not get everyone worried, I beg you. It's a joyful moment and I don't want to ruin the atmosphere.”

“You ruined it long ago. No need salvaging it now,” she snapped.

“Is that all you have to say?”

“Yes. I'm not going with you and I can't wait for six months. I'll only give you till the end of the month. Afterwards, we will meet in court if you don't sign it!”

Noah stood up and quietly left the house. He entered his car and drove off. On getting to the gate, he recalled that he hadn't said goodbye to Liam. He wanted to go back but he thought against it, it wasn't important. The little boy had to start learning to be separated from him because that would happen soonest.

Noah didn't bother Emily after that day. He boarded the plane and travelled to his home town for the wedding. They lived in the same country but different parts. He spotted Gu Yanxi, looking very beautiful and waiting for him at her favourite spot at the airport.

“Oh haaaa! Look who we've got here! Big brother!” she walked in style and wrapped her arms around him.

“You look so good!” Noah complimented.

“Thank you! You can say that again!” she smiled.

“You look stunning!” Noah said again.

“Ohh! Keep saying it. I love hearing that!”

“Don't worry. Your husband will tell you more, let's go home please. I'm hungry.”

Gu Yanxi helped him with his bag and put it in the backseat. Noah made to enter the backseat or owner's corner but she stopped him.

“Noah! There's no driver. I'm the one driving and you can't enter there. I'm not your driver. Sit in the front seat!”

“I'm sorry ma'am,” he laughed and sat where she asked him to sit.

“Where's your family? I nearly forgot you are married!”

“Emmm. They…. eer..”

“They what? Don't tell me you didn't bring them back!”

“I thought Emily explained things to you. Sh got unusually busy so she couldn't make it today. But she will be here for the wedding and with Liam, of course.”

“Noah! Why not today? You should have persuaded her I come with you. I don't want her to miss the picnic. There's a holiday, you can't say it's the flight expenses. No! We all know you can afford it or you can even come home with your private jet. That brings me to another topic. Why did you decide to go with a public airplane?”

“Madam Gu Yanxi, the bride to be. Did you decide to pick me up from the airport so that you could question me to death? I haven't had breakfast yet, in case you don't know,” Noah responded.

“Whatever! Well, if you haven't eaten, I'll just order something for you, to be delivered in your house,” she offered and took out her phone to place and order.

“How about you make me breakfast, Nelly?”

She rolled her eyes at him and continued what she was doing. This action caused his to laugh lightly.

“Order placed. Fasten your seatbelt and let's go home.”

“Yes ma,” Noah answered and did as she said.

It was the D-day for the wedding and everywhere was bustling and bubbling with life. The bride and the groom looked beautiful and like a perfect match. Aidan loved her dress and even complimented her dress. Gu Yanxi was happy that he liked it. She would tell Elisha as soon as she saw her! She would also sing praises to Emily, who was the master designer of the dress. As Noah said, Emily came with her son a day before the wedding. She apologized, saying that she had a lot of work. Fortunately, she told the same lie with Noah, even without his telling her so there was no cause for alarm. Elisha was the chief bridesmaid. During the wedding, Aidan saw the chief bridesmaid and recognised her immediately. This was his ex and he knew she would not be at his wedding without a reason. He figured something sinister was in the air. He recalled that Elisha had promised to deal with him after they broke up. However, Elisha acted as if she neither knew nor noticed him, making him even more uncomfortable. When he saw the wedding dress Gu Yanxi wore, he knew it was courtesy of Elisha. It was exactly the design they agreed to wear for their wedding just that it had Emily's unique touch, pattern and style. What games was she playing right now? He kept his cool until it was time for the reception. He kept stealing glances at her but she looked away. An opportunity presented itself when Elisha stood up and went to the washroom. Aidan excused himself and followed her to the washroom. He met her on her way out and asked,

“Elisha, what are you doing here? What's your plan? What do you want to do next?”

“First of all, congratulations on your wedding,” she said and stretched her hands for a handshake but Aidan didn't take the hand.

“If you will not shake my hands, it's fine. And in answer to your question, Gu Yanxi is my friend and…”

“How did you both know each other? You both are too close for comfort and I know you have something in mind!”

“Common Aidan. Don't be too negative. Do I look like someone who could hurt a fly? How can I hurt a human and my friend too? No, I can't do that,” she said and made to walk away but Aidan pulled her back and said,

“You better not try anything funny. I'm watching you closely!”

The rest of the day was quite uneventful and went on just like every normal wedding celebration. Nothing out of ordinary happened and after the occasion, Patrick Valentino, Aidan's father gave them a full paid vacation to any country of their choice for their honeymoon. Gu Yanxi was very excited and she thanked her father in law profusely. Noah watched her hug the man and smiled. Gu Yanxi had always loved travelling and he just gave her the opportunity to do so.
