Contract Marriage; Fated Love

Chapter 118

Ch. 118 / 137 Mar 20, 2026

Somehow, news flew into Elisha's ears that Aidan Valentino was getting married to a certain girl. She was filled with rage and swore to do everything within her power to ruin the relationship and subsequently the marriage.

Back in the days, Aidan was such a sweet soul when they were dating. She remembered how much he loved her, cared and took care of her. She didn't want another woman to have what she didn't have. She lost Aidan because she was careless! Just a little mistake and he was gone. Although this happened years ago, she had sworn never to let him go. No doubt, this new wife was the reason he moved on so fast.

That day, Elisha had gone to visit Aidan in his house where he lived alone.

“Hi sweetheart!” Elisha said in a sing song voice and hugged him.

“How are you my love? You didn't tell me you were coming.”

“Huh? Can't I surprise you again? Do I always have to tell you before coming? Or, is there another girl in your house? Are you cheating on me, Aidan?”

“Hey! Hey! It's not like that. Take it easy, babe. You can check the house, come in. There's no woman in the house please. Don't ever think that I'll cheat on you because I will never do that. I love you so much.”

Elisha felt much better after he pledged and professed his love for her.

“If there is no woman, why did you ask that I call you before coming?”

“It's because I don't have anything in this house to offer you. My house is literally empty and I haven't had time and energy to go to the mall to get groceries and other necessities for the house,” he explained.

“Really? You should have said that sooner. You made my heart skip a beat!” Elisha frowned.

“I'm sorry. You know I love you, please, don't be mad at me,” Aidan said and kissed her forehead.

“Tell me babe, what will you like to eat? I'll order it for you since I have nothing in my house. I'm sorry about that.”

“That's unlike you, love. Why?” Elisha probed. Aidan scratched his head and made a face. Elisha thought he looked even more handsome when he did that. He was tall, dark skinned and handsome. He was her perfect kind of man and she was very proud to flaunt him before her friends.

“I'm waiting, Love.”

“I've been busy and my friends whom I go shopping with have stocked up for the month. I'll make out time and do that during the next weekend. Go ahead and tell me what you want so I can order. Or, just take my phone and place an order. I need to check my clothes in the washing machine in the laundry room.” With that, Aidan left his phone with her and off he went. He returned five minutes later.

“I'm so sorry for the delay, babe. I wanted to round up with the washing. What did you order?”

“I haven't done that yet.”

“Why? Is there a problem?” Aidan asked.

“No. But I was thinking, why don't we go shopping together? It will be fun and it's going to help. It's much better than moving this shopping to next weekend and you will still have to go alone. When we return, I'll make you a sumptuous dish. I've been taking my cooking classes very seriously. I need to show you some skills I learnt specially for you, Love.”

“Babe, why don't we leave it? I'll rather spend time with you at home. I'll shop alone, don't worry. Let's have fun at home.”

“Love, what about my culinary skills that I want to show you? I'll spend time with you when we return from the shopping mall. How about that?”

Aidan finally gave in and got dressed. Elisha made a list of what was needed in the house and they set off to the mall. She remembered she too needed some things for herself at the mall.

“Love, there are some things I need too. Can I get them at the mall too?”

“Sure. That's not a problem. We can do that.”

They shopped together, laughed and joked as they did that. They moved from the kitchen section and cooking ingredients to household necessities, and finally to personal belongings. They pushed the trolley to the counter and Aidan payed for what they bought. The attendant packaged their things differently as they requested. Aidan took his things and went off, thinking that Elisha was right behind him. It was when he got to his car that he realised that she wasn't behind him and that he had been talking to himself all along. He looked around but she was nowhere in sight. As he retraced his steps to the mall in search of his girlfriend, a beautiful young girl mistakenly bumped into him and her bag fell down, causing the contents to fall off as well.

“I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going, I apologize.” The girl quickly apologized. Aidan thought it wise to help her out her things in her bag because he was a kind gentleman.

“Be careful next time, okay.”

“I will, thank you, handsome.”

While they were talking, Elisha stepped out of the mall and saw him with another girl and quickly concluded that he left her inside the mall just to go and see another woman.

“No baby. How can you say that? I merely helped her pick up her things because I bumped into her, or rather, she bumped into me. Yes, that's what happened. And this was when I came back to look for you. Save for the little accident, I would have met you inside the mall.”

“And why didn't you wait for me at the mall? You just grabbed your bags and walked off, as if you didn't come with anyone. Am I not important to you? Is this how you treat me now?”

“I'm sorry babe. I swear, I thought you were right behind me. Please, forgive me. I'm sincerely sorry.”

“No! It's over!” Elisha yelled.
