Trapped by Him

Chapter 92

Ch. 90 / 398 Feb 22, 2026

Patrick would come to Gloria tomorrow. At the thought of that, she felt desperate and helpless about her fate. She had no idea where to come up with the rest of the money.

Lucas left Gloria's dormitory building and sat in his car. He felt bored all of a sudden.

He figured that it was probably the so-called emptiness he felt after the game ended. He started the car and was heading back to the Sea Moon Pack.

Lucas' departure took away the glimmer of hope that Gloria finally traced back. She became soulless again.

By constantly touching her wound, he continually made himself become a distinctive, unique part of her misery.

Lucas was a playa. He knew every bit of the subtle change that was taking place in Gloria through his constant touch of her wound. Gloria had no idea, yet he did.

In other words, he won the hunting game.

The next day, the moment Gloria arrived at Fittro Club, she was called to the office by Christine.

"Did you get the money?" Christine asked, looking at Gloria.

Gloria shook her head.

Christine asked doubtfully, "Didn't you ask Lucas?"

Gloria lowered her head and said nothing. Then, Christine understood.

Christine sighed and said, "We will never know what's on the guests' minds."

Christine tried to comfort Gloria, but she knew it wouldn't help.

She paused and continued, "Gloria, I have bad news for you. Mr. Hammond just called and said he would come. But he will be late, so there's also good news for you. You've got another hour to get the money."

Christine picked up her phone and checked the time. "Gloria, I have 100 thousand dollars, but I can't give it to you."

Christine said straightforwardly, without feeling guilty at all. She had already done her part by helping Gloria hide the money she had made up till now. She did all she could.

"Thank you, Christine. You've been a great help. I know Mr. Hammond. I would do the same thing if I were you."

Gloria turned and left Christine's office. She had to find a way to get the money or accept her fate.

She took the elevator upstairs. When the elevator doors opened, her body stiffened as she saw the person waiting outside.

The man who was standing outside the elevator also looked at Gloria in shock at the same time.

"Gloria..." he said softly.

Gloria's face was pale. She whispered, "Sir, you have mistaken me for someone else. I'm not Gloria."

She immediately reached out and pressed the button after saying that.

"Wait!" The man squeezed in. He grabbed Gloria's hand and said, "Gloria. You are Gloria. I will never mistake you for someone else."

"I'm not. Sir, you have mistaken me for someone else."

"Gloria, how could I not recognize you? Gloria, I'm sorry. I'm your brother!"

Gloria's heart trembled.

"I am not. I don't know you, Sir," she said again.

"Gloria, how are you doing? I miss you so much. It's all my fault. I'm useless. I am sorry. I live in guilt every day. Gloria, did anyone bully you in that place? Why do you look so haggard?"

The man clutched her shoulders tightly and said emotionally, "Let me look at you."

"Stop it! Shut up!" Gloria was about to lose it.

She didn't get it. How could he be so cheeky to say such caring words?

"Do you miss me? Are you feeling guilty? Three years. It has been three years. In the last three years, have you or any member of the Silver Spring Pack ever visited me? How am I doing? Well, can't you see it?" Gloria sneered.

"Gloria, I'm sorry..." Harry Carter looked guilty.

"I would be grateful if you or any of the werewolves of the Silver Spring Pack could visit me once in the werewolf prison during these three years. Mr. Carter, you don't have to apologize. There's no such thing between us. Now, please move aside. I still have to make money."

"Make money?" Gloria's brother, Harry, looked puzzled.

Gloria suddenly turned her head and looked at Harry. She smiled, "Yes. Make money from men, of course. Mr. Carter, why do you think I came to Fittro Club? For fun, like you? No. I work here. I please the guests and make them happy. That's how I get paid!"

Suddenly, Gloria was like a stranger to Harry. He said angrily, "Gloria, how could you make money by doing this? Since when did you become like this? I don't know you anymore!

"You are lying, Gloria, right? You are such an assertive person. You are proud enough to run wild in front of Patrick. I don't buy it. I don't believe you would become one of those people who would do anything for money!" said Harry incredulously.

Gloria could almost hear her teeth cracking.

Suddenly, she thought of something, and she looked at the familiar face in front of her. She closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she concealed the pain in her eyes and tried to stay rational.

"May I borrow 100 thousand dollars? After all, we share the same blood, we grew up together, and I've been your sister for so many years," said Gloria.

"What for?" Harry hesitated.

"I owe Patrick the money," Gloria said calmly. "Mr. Carter, I know 100 thousand dollars is nothing to you. But I need it urgently. Help me, will you? After all, I was once your sister."

If Gloria had any other options, she wouldn't want to meet anyone from the Silver Spring Pack, let alone borrow money from them. However, the situation made her hands tied, and she had to weigh the pros and cons. She thought about Patrick as well as the freedom that she craved. After pondering for a while, she finally asked Harry.

She thought that this time she would be able to raise a million dollars before Patrick arrived. Then she could give him the money and redeem her freedom.

However, when Harry heard Patrick's name, his expression changed slightly. He stammered, "I'm sorry."

Gloria's ears buzzed, and she gawked at Harry. "What did you just say?"

"Back then, Mr. Hammond sent a message to the Silver Spring Pack. He said, between you and Silver Spring Pack, we could only choose one," Harry said guiltily and awkwardly. "Gloria, I'm sorry. Our parents are getting old. They are fragile."
