Trapped by Him

Chapter 66

Ch. 64 / 398 Feb 22, 2026

Patrick looked at Gloria somewhat obsessively. Losing in his memories, he found it impossible to resist Gloria.

He had been drawn to her increasingly day by day.

"What the heck is going on?" Patrick asked his wolf in his mind.

"She is our mate," Leo emphasized again. He responded in Patrick's mind, "We, werewolves, need to be with our mates. Such a bond will make us feel secure and happy."

Patrick was silent and did not respond to Leo.

Leo said to himself, "It would be better if you could mark her as soon as possible. I get annoyed when our mate is around, yet you can't mark her."

"I've already rejected her," said Patrick.

"But she didn't reject you, so, it didn't take effect," Leo said disapprovingly.

Just as Patrick wanted to ask Leo about Gloria's wolf, he suddenly received a call request in his mind. It was from the pack.

He accepted the request, and then Leonard's voice sounded in his mind.

"Alpha Patrick, what should we do about this woman, Lillian?"

"Get rid of her. I don't want to see this woman again," Patrick replied coldly.

Gloria was right. Patrick was a cruel werewolf. As an Alpha, he was so used to bloodshed.

"Yes, Alpha Patrick," Leonard said without hesitation and was ready to disconnect the call.

Suddenly, Patrick said, "Wait."

"Alpha Patrick, is there anything else?"

Patrick glanced at the sleeping Gloria on the bed. He paused for a second before saying, "Lock her up. Don't kill or torture her."

Leonard was stunned for a moment before quickly replying, "Yes, Alpha Patrick."

Leonard cut off the call with Patrick.

Leonard glanced at Lillian, who was shivering next to his feet. Then he raised his head and said to the two guards, "Mr. Hammond said to lock her up for now. Don't torture her."

Lillian's face was pale. She lay on the ground and grabbed Leonard's trouser leg, saying, "Why are you locking me up? Didn't Gloria already come to Mr. Hammond for me? Shouldn't I be set free already?"

Leonard glanced at Lillian in disgust. In his eyes, she was nothing but ignorant.

He thought, 'If Gloria hadn't spoken up for you, you would have been doing way worse than just being locked up.'

"Did Gloria go to Mr. Hammond and put in a good word for me? Did she?" Lillian's face was resentful. "I knew she didn't. What a bitch!"

"Shut up!" Leonard shook off Lillian. His eyes were filled with disgust as he said, "Why do you think Miss Carter should plead for you? She almost died because of you. It wouldn't be normal if she didn't."

"What do you know? I am a student at Gabbs University. I am the future of the country. Unlike me, Gloria is a woman with no education and no shame. Her future is nothing to be compared to mine," Lillian poured out her dissatisfaction towards Gloria while her expression turned ferocious.

"If you are that good. Then, you can count on yourself, instead of counting on that lowly woman you mentioned. Otherwise, you will only make people think even less of you." Leonard didn't bother talking to her anymore.

Yet Lillian couldn't stand it anymore. She had already lost her mind. Pointing at Leonard, she sneered, "Who gave you the right to lecture me? You are just Mr. Hammond's dog."

A crisp sound rang out, and Lillian covered her face and screamed. Leonard put his hand away.

He looked at Lillian coldly and said, "You don't get to talk about my position in the pack. The only thing you need to know is that if you say one more word, I will cut your face!"

Lillian was so scared that she immediately covered her mouth. She did not dare to utter another word, while her eyes were full of resentment.

She no longer looked pure and pretty. Instead, she had become ferocious and frightening.

She thought, 'No. I can't let him ruin my face. I must wait for Derrick. He will come and help me.

Derrick likes me.'

Seeing that Lillian was silent, Leonard immediately said to the pack guards beside him, "What are you waiting for? Lock her up."

Gloria was in a coma at the hospital and didn't wake up until the afternoon.

Perhaps she was too tired, or perhaps this time, her fever was too high. Anyway, when she woke up, she felt very groggy. She gawked at her surroundings, unable to figure out where she was.

"You're awake." Suddenly, she heard a familiar and magnetic voice.

Gloria was startled. She turned around subconsciously. Then, she saw Patrick sitting elegantly on the chair beside her bed with a document in his hand.

When Gloria looked over, Patrick happened to raise his head briefly. He glanced at her and asked, "Are you hungry?"

After finishing speaking, he retracted his gaze and looked at the document in his hand.

Gloria's lips were dry. She turned to look around and said, "Mr. Hammond, thanks for sending me to the hospital. Sorry if I caused you any trouble."

When Patrick heard her words, he exerted so much force that the document he was holding was twisted.

For some reason, her hoarse voice upset him.

He thought, 'You either thank me or apologize to me.

Don't you have anything else to say to me besides that?'

Patrick didn't say anything. Gloria lowered her eyes and stopped looking at him.

She heard the sound of him flipping the papers.

Patrick didn't say anything, and neither did Gloria. Meanwhile, Patrick kept going through the papers.

The atmosphere was awkward, yet somehow harmonious.

Neither of them broke the eerie atmosphere.

In the end, it was Gloria who gave in. She said, "Mr. Hammond."

She opened her mouth and called out softly.

Patrick, who was beside the bed, was minding his business. He didn't respond.

After a while, Gloria became a little impatient. "Mr. Hammond?"

This time, she said with a louder voice.

However, the only response she got was another faint sound of the pages turning.

A few more minutes had passed before Gloria asked again, "Mr. Hammond?"

She raised her voice even louder this time.
