Trapped by Him

Chapter 62

Ch. 60 / 398 Feb 22, 2026

Patrick thought, 'Do as I say?

Is that how you were, Gloria Carter?

I don't think so.'

Patrick put his hand up. His arm was propped on the arm of the sofa while he supported his chin with his hand, looking lazy.

He looked at the woman in front of him silently.

Time ticked, and Gloria began to feel restless.

Patrick never looked away from her face. The light was too dim for her to see the emotion on his face. Occasionally, she would look up tentatively, yet she could only see his cold eyes in the dimness.

A few minutes later, she finally gave in, finding it hard to keep sitting still anymore. She raised her head and said, "Mr. Hammond, I'm here to ask you to forgive someone."

She cut to the chase.

Patrick nodded while sitting on the sofa. He said lazily, "I know. I was waiting for you to speak."

Gloria was stunned for a second. Only then did she realize that the reason why Patrick was sitting there and staring at her was that he was waiting for her to speak up for Lillian.

She had no idea that the man on the sofa opposite her captured every movement of her. He didn't miss a single detail.

Gloria, Patrick's mate, was sitting so close to him, and that made him restless. His heart was surging with an urge.

"I want you to spare Lillian," said Gloria.

"Get to the point." Patrick's deep voice became a bit hoarse. He sensed Leo's desire.

Ever since he met Gloria again, his wolf had been longing for her. It was just that he had been suppressing Leo's feelings. Yet now, Leo's desire was getting stronger.

Patrick was unable to keep Leo under control and was affected by Leo's emotions.

"Will you?" Gloria asked.

Patrick's eyes were filled with mockery. He said, "Gloria, you know she is the one who put you through all this. Yet you are still speaking up for her. She didn't get to kill you this time, and now you are offering her a chance to hurt you again? Tell me, how should I describe you? Stupid or hypocritical? Do you think this makes you a good person? It only makes you a hypocrite. That Miss Carter I used to know was a girl who was not afraid to love or hate."

"Mr. Hammond, I don't know who you're talking about."

Patrick stared at her and thought, 'You deny who you used to be just like this?'

"Are you sure you want to plead for that Lillian after what she did to you?" Patrick asked again.

He continued in a cold voice, "If you want to be a hypocrite, be my guest. But what can you offer to make me spare her? Your dignity?"

He asked her coldly, and then he smiled sarcastically, "Gloria, your dignity is worth nothing."

"I know." Gloria's voice was calm. Then she looked up at Patrick and said, "I'll offer myself."

"What? Say that again." Patrick thought he heard it wrongly.

"Mr. Hammond, I'll spend the night with you," Gloria said while trying to suppress the sense of humiliation.

"Are you saying that you want to sleep with me?" Patrick said directly.

"Yes." Gloria's face was a little pale.

Though Patrick's words were a bit rude and blunt and made Gloria uncomfortable, she still nodded.

She was waiting for Patrick's decision and judgment.

Patrick was sitting on the sofa, staring at Gloria in front of him without blinking.

From where he sat, he could only see the top of her head, but that did not prevent his anger from spreading through him.

He stood up abruptly!

Gloria felt a force coming at her. By the time she came back to her senses, Patrick had already pressed her into the sofa.

"Mr. Hammond, please let go."

As soon as she finished speaking, Patrick's cold, angry voice rang out. He said, "You've just offered yourself to me, right?"

There was a hint of anger in his deep voice. "Since you choose to be so self-deprecated, Gloria, I'll do you a favor!"

Patrick kissed Gloria's lips in the next second, which caught her off guard. He kissed her so hard that it wasn't like making out at all. Instead, it was like a punishment.

After he kissed her fiercely, he looked up at her and asked, "I'll ask you one last time, Gloria. Are you really going to throw away your dignity for the sake of this disgusting woman?"

"Yes. I'm begging you, Mr. Hammond, please. Just let her go," Gloria said.

Patrick laughed. His laughter was so cold. He said, "Gloria, no one would really care about you! Because you don't deserve it!"

Gloria lowered her eyes, but her quivering eyelashes gave her out.

She thought, 'Patrick, you know nothing!

In werewolf prison, that hellish place, Mica, the only one who was ever good to me, died for me. Do you know how I felt?'

"Gloria, you don't deserve people's kindness in this world. Whoever is good to you is making the biggest mistake. You don't deserve anyone's kindness at all!" Patrick blurted out. His usually cold and indifferent eyes were now burning with anger.

Patrick's words hurt Gloria, hitting her sore spot.

Gloria raised her head in an instant and glared at Patrick.

Her voice was hoarse and unpleasant. It was the first time she collapsed ever since Mica died.

She shouted madly, "You don't know what I've been through! You know nothing! Who gave you the right to point fingers at me? The almighty Mr. Hammond, I know you too well. I would not have come here if you had only intended to give her a small punishment."

There was a trace of sadness in her hoarse voice. She continued, "I don't care what you want to do to her. I don't care how you will punish her. I just want you to spare her life today. I don't want to owe another person her life. Never."

Gloria knew what Patrick was capable of. He had no trouble torturing her to the extreme, and he could do the same to anyone.

Patrick tossed her into the hellhole without any hesitation. She knew exactly what would happen to Lillian.

Patrick didn't refute. He tacitly agreed with Gloria.

Gloria figured it out correctly.

She did not care what would eventually happen to Lillian. The only thing Gloria did not want was to owe another life.
