Audrey still felt it was not enough. She continued, "Mr. Fisher, you should know who Patrick is, right? Back then, he sent Gloria to the werewolf prison himself. If you don't believe me, you can ask Mr. Carter. He is standing right next to you. Ask him whether those werewolves of the Silver Spring Pack still consider Gloria as one of them.
"I remember that Alpha Alger himself told the Alpha of our pack that he did not consider Gloria as a member of the Silver Spring Pack." Audrey looked at Harry. Then she continued, "Well, we are outsiders, so it's natural that we don't believe her. But what about her family? Mr. Fisher, tell me, is she guilty?"
Her words made Derrick's mind spin.
He looked at Harry, and the latter looked away. Harry's reaction was self-explanatory. What Audrey said was true.
Derrick was in a trance. He thought, 'I always thought Gloria was just a rogue with no one to turn to, and she had no choice but to be a call girl.
I had no idea she was the daughter of the Alpha of the Silver Spring Pack. I had no idea she did such despicable things.'
He found it hard to think clear-mindedly. He suddenly looked at the box of bills and remembered what Audrey and the others had said. They said Gloria could do anything for the sake of money.
He also remembered Lucas' sarcastic tone yesterday in the room. He thought, 'So, it turns out everybody knows, except for me.
I can accept everything about Gloria. However, I can never accept that she is a murderer who kills her own kind.
This is unacceptable.
I can't accept it. For the first time in my life, I have feelings for a woman. Yet she is so despicable! How could I fall in love with a selfish, hideous murderer?
She doesn't need to be beautiful, and she may be handicapped, but not this.
No! I only realize now. I'm just obsessed with her body, her lips. I mistook this for love.
How could I possibly fall in love with a despicable, ugly, and disgusting murderer?'
Derrick firmly rejected everything deep down.
Finally, his gaze fell on the woman in the crowd who got down on one knee, giving the man a foot massage.
"I'll give you a chance. Was there anything they said that wasn't true?" Derrick asked.
Right now, Derrick was no longer the sunny boy in Gloria's eyes.
Across the crowd, her gaze fell on him, who had accompanied her for days. Eventually, he saw the most hideous side of her. He knew who she was now. He knew about her past.
Gloria ignored her heartache and looked at Derrick through the crowd. She had not expected him to see her hideous past in such a way.
She slowly opened her mouth and said, "Derrick."
It was the first time she had called him that since they met. She said, "Would you believe me if I said I didn't frame Gabrielle? Would you believe me if I said I wasn't the reason she died?"
Audrey laughed and said, "Gloria, face it! Why are you such a coward? Face your crimes! How shameless are you? Why would we wrong you? Even if we did, would Patrick wrong you? If you weren't responsible, explain it to us then. Why would your parents expel you? Your brother, Harry, is standing right there. You are being bullied! ! Why isn't he standing up for you? Instead, he just stands there and watches us while we bully you."
Every word she said made Gloria's heart tremble.
Audrey said, "Would Patrick wrong you?
"Your brother is standing right there. He just stands there and watches us while we bully you."
Everything Audrey said hurt.
Gloria took a deep breath. Her heartache was killing her.
She wanted to shout badly.
She thought, 'Is it my fault that Patrick wrongs me?
Is it my fault that my parents expelled me?
Is it my fault that my brother stands in front of me and watches me being bullied?
Because of the choices Patrick, my parents, and my brother made, I became a sinner, even though I'm not guilty at all.
Who cares about the so-called truth?
Everyone thinks that since Patrick put me in prison, I am guilty.
Everyone thinks that since my parents expelled me, I am to be blamed.
My brother is standing right there, and he doesn't defend me at all. Everyone assumes that I am a murderer.'
Gloria's gaze swept around the crowd. She thought, 'Isn't that what you all think?'
She closed her eyes so she could conceal the surging emotions.
She wouldn't let others see those emotions in her eyes. She didn't want them to see... They didn't deserve it!
Derrick clenched his fists that were on the sides of his body. He wanted to believe her, but so many people claimed that she was guilty. Perhaps Patrick accused her wrongly. However, even her parents and her brother claimed the same.
Derrick wanted to believe her, but he couldn't.
He could not forgive her for lying to him. He could not accept the fact that he, a proud man, fell for such a vicious woman.
However, Derrick forgot something. Did Gloria need his forgiveness at all? Who was he to choose whether to forgive her or not?
Gloria had never done anything to hurt him.
Derrick forgot all this. He was furious now, too proud to accept the facts.
Derrick raised his chin and said, "Gloria, I am the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack. Women will throw themselves at me if I want them.
"Gloria, I can have whatever type of woman I want."
He raised his chin and looked down at the woman on the ground. He said, "I was just playing with you. Don't take it seriously."
After he finished speaking, he turned around and left without looking back.
Gloria stared at his back.
His back was so familiar. She had lost count of the number of times he had walked through the crowd, holding her hand.
But at this precise moment, he was like a total stranger.
Gloria quietly watched his back until he disappeared in front of her eyes.
She then glanced at Harry, who looked embarrassed. Yet in less than a second, she looked away. She thought, 'If my family won't even take my side, and others use them to hurt me, then I don't need family.'
