"If I had known that you would disregard the safety of Blood Moon Pack for a woman, I would never let you be the Alpha of our pack. You are just as disappointing as your brother!" Curtis said fiercely.
Derrick raised his head. He glared fiercely at the angry Curtis. His eyes were bloodshot as he stared at Curtis with a ferocious and terrifying gaze. "Curtis, my brother has passed away!"
Not many people knew that Derrick had a brother, and the death of Derrick's brother was a pain that he could not get rid of.
He glared at Curtis, and there was a trace of hidden hatred in his eyes.
The housekeeper hurriedly pulled Curtis and said, "Mr. Fisher, please calm down."
Curtis was also shocked by the terrible look in Derrick's eyes. The room fell into silence.
After a long time, Curtis released his hand. His cane dropped on the marble floor tiles, and he fell onto the sofa behind him.
In an instant, Curtis seemed to have aged ten years. A trace of dejection and regret flashed through his aged eyes, but his serious face was still tense.
Derrick looked at Curtis on the sofa. He closed his eyes to cover the complicated emotions in his eyes. When he opened his eyes again, he finally regained some calmness.
"From today onwards, I will officially begin to work in the Fisher Group." Derrick stood up straight and his gaze landed on Curtis, who was on the sofa. He said forcefully, "I like Gloria. I will not give up on her. No matter how much pressure Patrick puts on me, I will not give up on her. I'll be responsible for what I do. Patrick's target is me this time. I will take responsibility and face him myself."
Curtis opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something. However, when Curtis saw Derrick's firm gaze and heard Derrick's firm tone, he chose to stay silent.
Before Derrick left, he looked at Curtis and said, "I am not Eric. I will not make the same choice as him. I will not give up the woman I like just because of you. I can protect my pack."
Curtis suddenly looked up. Then he saw Derrick, who was tall and slender, disappear from the door.
"Mr. Fisher?" The housekeeper looked at Curtis and asked.
"Let him be." Curtis waved at the housekeeper and said, "I'm tired. You can go now."
Curtis weighed the choices he had to make in his heart. He needed to see how far Derrick could go!
In the car, Derrick dialed Patrick's number.
After the call was connected, Derrick said, "Patrick, listen up. I won't give up on Gloria. I'll protect the Blood Moon Pack as well. Let's see who will be the winner!"
Patrick laughed. "Alright, since you want to compete, I'm in. But what belongs to me will always belong to me."
Both sides cut off the call almost at the same time without saying anything more.
For the next period of time, Derrick no longer enjoyed himself every day. He began to work in the Fisher Group and attended business banquets of Gabbs.
At today's charity dinner, Derrick appeared on time.
"Mr. Fisher, I heard that you have been quite active recently. It seems to be true. Why are you working so hard? Have you set up some goals for yourself? A middle-aged man raised his wine glass at Derrick and said half-jokingly.
"Indeed, Mr. Tomas, you are smart." Derrick said frankly, "I met the woman I wanted to marry, so I had to work hard."
The man called "Mr. Tomas" was shocked. "Who's the lucky girl to win your favor, Mr. Fisher?"
Derrick waved his hand and smiled. "Mr. Tomas, well, I guess I'm the lucky one."
At this time, a commotion came from the entrance.
Derrick and Tomas both looked toward the door.
"That is... Mr. Hammond?" Tomas said with surprise, "I didn't know he would come today."
Derrick put the glass down and walked straight to the gate.
Tomas was surprised. He knew that Derrick was heading toward Patrick.
He wondered how Derrick and Patrick knew each other.
As soon as Patrick showed up, everyone turned to look at him. And they were all excited to see him.
"Hello, Mr. Hammond." With one hand in his pocket, Derrick elegantly walked toward Patrick and said, "I didn't expect that you would be interested in a charity banquet."
Patrick stood still as he watched Derrick walk toward him step by step and said, "I come here for relaxation. Banquets are mostly the same."
"Oh, Mr. Hammond, have you been in trouble recently?" Derrick said, "How about having some fun at Fittro Club? My treat."
Patrick stared at Derrick. Derrick knew that Fittro Club was his, yet he still said so. Derrick was provoking him!
Patrick waved at the waiter, and the waiter immediately came over with a tray.
Patrick picked up a glass of red wine from the tray and handed it to Derrick. He took another glass for himself, raised a glass, and said, "Mr. Fisher, you are so kind. But you'd better care more about yourself. You have stayed up late recently, right?"
Derrick's hand trembled imperceptibly while holding the wine glass. Then, he drank up the wine as if nothing had happened. He put the glass back on the tray and turned to look at Patrick. "Yes, I've been staying up late recently. Mr. Hammond, if not, how can I deal with the troubles you caused?"
"Really? There are no such things in the business field. The strong survive and the weak disappear." Patrick said peacefully. He put the glass back onto the tray without drinking it. Then he swept a glance to the side and whispered to Derrick, "I told you. I will never let anyone snatch anything from me, even if I don't want those things any longer. Mr. Fisher, you should work harder. Maybe you can turn the table after staying up for a few more days.
