Torn Between my Alpha Mates

Chapter 60: Fated

Ch. 60 / 177 Dec 10, 2025

Zoya’s P.O.V

In the beginning, when the world was young and life was just beginning to stir, there was a goddess who watched over it all. She was the Moon, a beacon of light in the darkness, and her name was whispered on the lips of all who gazed up at her in wonder.

The Moon was a kind and loving goddess, but she also had a wild and untamed side. It was this side of her that inspired her to create the werewolves. She crafted them from her own essence, imbuing them with her strength and power.

She made them to run in packs, for she knew that they would need each other in order to survive in the world she had created. The Alpha was the leader of the pack, the one who held the strength and wisdom to guide the others. The Beta was the next in line, his trusted advisor and friend.

To be more precise, within a werewolf pack, the hierarchy was of utmost importance, and every member knew their place in the pecking order. The Alpha was the leader of the pack and held the most power, followed by the Beta, and then the rest of the pack members ofllowed. The Alpha was responsible for the safety and well-being of the entire pack, and their orders must be followed without question.

The Beta was the Alpha's right-hand and serves as their second-in-command. They were responsible for maintaining order within the pack and executing the Alpha's commands. The Beta was also in charge of training new pack members and ensuring that they understand the pack's rules and regulations. Each member had a specific role to play within the pack, whether it be hunting, protecting the pack's territory, healing the ailed, or caring for the young.

The hierarchy within a werewolf pack was not just about power and control, but also about unity and loyalty. Each member understood their role in the pack and the importance of working together to ensure the pack's survival. They were a family, bound by their shared heritage and their connection to the Moon Goddess.

The power hierarchy of a werewolf pack was not to be taken lightly, as challenging the Alpha's authority can result in severe consequences. However, the Alpha must also be fair and just, as their decisions could impact the entire pack. It was a delicate balance, one that required wisdom, strength, and an unwavering commitment to the pack's well-being.

Why did the Moon make them this way? Perhaps it was because she knew that the world was a dangerous place, and that her children would need to be strong in order to survive. Perhaps it was because she wanted to teach them the value of loyalty and trust, of working together for the common good.

Whatever her reasons, the werewolves thrived under the Moon's watchful eye. They ran through the forests and over the mountains, their howls echoing through the night. And the Moon smiled down on them, proud of the children she had created, and grateful for the beauty they brought to her world.

I sat there on my bedroom floor, staring at Sam as he spoke about werewolves like they were fantastical creatures out of a fairy tale. I tried to wrap my head around the concept, but it all felt so surreal. My heart was racing, and my thoughts were all over the place.

I couldn't believe that werewolves actually existed and that they were created by a primordial moon goddess. The primordial moon goddess, as Sam had emphasized. And to top it all off, the goddess had ensured that their hierarchy was intricately woven so that each member of the pack had a role to play.

I just sat there in stunned silence, trying to process what I had just heard. It felt like my whole world had been turned upside down. I couldn't even imagine what my life would be like now that I knew the truth about werewolves.

Despite my shock and disbelief, I couldn't help but feel a small twinge of curiosity. I wanted to know more about these werewolves and their way of living, especially since I was in close proximity to one. But at the same time, I was scared of what else I might find out. A part of me wanted to believe that this was all some sort of twisted joke or dream, like I was being pranked, and this moment was being aired on live television, but deep down, I knew it was all too real.

But Sam wasn’t done yet. He still had a lot to say and at least, his words helped sate my curiosity for answers. "All wolves are born in pairs called mates," he said. "The goddess herself chooses who to bond."

I felt my heart rate increase as he spoke. It was all too much to take in, but I couldn't deny the way my curiosity was piqued. "So what does that mean?" I asked, my voice shaky.

"It means that when we find our mate, we are bound to them for life. We become one soul in two bodies," he explained, his tone earnest.

I looked at him, trying to gauge his expression. He seemed to believe what he was saying, and I wasn't a werewolf, but it was hard for me to wrap my head around the idea of being bonded to someone I barely knew. "That's insane," I muttered, more to myself than to him.

Sam leaned closer to me, his eyes boring into mine. "It's the most beautiful thing in the world, Zoya. To be bonded to your soulmate is to experience true love, loyalty, and devotion. It's a bond that cannot be broken, even in death."

I couldn't deny the intensity in his gaze, but I also couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled in my stomach. "But what if you don't want to be bonded to your mate?" I asked, trying to keep my tone steady.

"It doesn't matter," he said firmly. "The goddess's choice is final. We have no say in the matter."

I looked away from him, feeling overwhelmed and trapped. It was all too much to take in, and I couldn't help but wonder what my own fate held in store for me. I tried to think about what would happen if someone refused their mate or if they didn't get along. Would they be stuck with each other forever?

The idea of being bound to someone for eternity made me feel trapped and suffocated. I couldn't imagine being forced to spend the rest of my life with someone I didn't love or even like. It was all too much to take in.

I felt a mix of fear and confusion wash over me. I didn't know what to believe or how to process everything he was saying. A part of me wanted to run away and forget about all of this, but another part of me knew that I couldn't just ignore the truth.

It was like a nightmare that I couldn't wake up from, and I couldn't help but wonder how I got caught up in all of this. I never asked for any of it, but here I was, sitting in my bedroom, listening to a man tell me about a supernatural world that I never even knew existed until now.

And I couldn’t help but wonder…why me? Out of all the millions of people out there who could’ve been stuck in this situation, why me of all people?

Was this some kind of trick? A prank? Or was this all a part of some grand scheme designed by a clever and mischievous goddess?
