"L-Look, how about you release m-me and I surrender? I will never bother you again. I swear upon my father's spirit—"
"It's too late for that, " Evelyn cut off the vampire. "You're not going to escape, "
Victor's cool demeanor was no more. He was starting to panic and tremble.
"Evelyn, think about t-this. Do you really want to commit a-another murder? Think about w-what your mother would have—"
The vampire couldn't even finish his sentence as the vine around his neck tightened painfully. His words turned into muffled cries while he struggled to breathe.
"Do not say anything about my mother or I promise I'll make your death painful as much as I can, " The girl seethed, a dangerous expression taking over her face.
Victor couldn't help but feel his blood run cold. Evelyn emitted an aura that was far too powerful.
There was an insane smell of blood lust in the air.
Victor felt ashamed of himself. He was scared and begging for mercy in front of a woman.
It shattered the pride he earned through all his wins and wars.
He took in a deep breath when the vines started loosening. They were still around him but they weren't suffocating him like before.
He looked at the omega in confusion but Evelyn had a blank expression plastered on her face. It gave away nothing.
The vampire flinched when a vine tugged on his right arm.
"You killed my father with that hand, " Evelyn said, her voice threateningly low.
Victor looked down, trying as much as he could to avoid eye contact. For some reason, it scared him to look at the omega.
Evelyn took a step forward, slow and calculated like a predator. "So I'm taking that hand from you, "
The man didn't even have the time to react. He gasped and looked at her in surprise but before he could even utter a word, the vines tightened around his hand and started to pull on it.
His body was tied to the tree tightly and the vine was trying to separate his arm from his body.
Victor tried his best to put up a fight. Cursing and tugging back violently but soon he started to lose his energy.
He was weak and out of breath.
The vine tightened on his arm.
Evelyn watched as the vampire's skin and muscles tore, his bones breaking and the stream of blood pouring out.
Victor's cry in agony shook the whole forest.
But Evelyn didn't even flinch.
"N-NH—NO! DON'T TOUCH ME BITCH! S-STOP! YOU'LL SUFFER FOR THIS! " He screamed out frantically when he felt a tug on his other arm.
"This one's for separating my parents and making my childhood hell, " The omega looked at him with a small smile. "The pain is good, isn't it?"
She smirked as she watched him suffer. Thrashing around in pure pain. His eyes rolled back while he screamed like he was in hell.
Maybe it was hell. Or maybe this is how hell worked.
His bloodied left arm fell to the ground.
Victor coughed blood, his whole body was crimson red painted.
"I had to punish you at least this much before I send you to where you belong… '' Evelyn spoke calmly. "You brought this upon yourself, Victor. You can't blame anyone else for this. All those people you've killed… all those lives you've ruined… this is the result of all that. So accept it happily, "
She smiled.
"Goodbye, Victor. I hope you never have another life again…. You don't deserve it, "
Victor's eyes grew wide as the vines started pushing into his mouth.
He thrashed around frantically but they were already choking him and tearing his throat.
He felt them move inside and it felt like thousands of blades scratching his insides.
Evelyn took in a deep breath as the vines wrapped around his heart. She felt the beating organ. The beats were very slow because of his lack of blood pressure from the blood loss.
Victor was heaving for air.
Trying desperately to hold on to the thin thread of life.
The omega closed her eyes.
The vines tightened around the fragile organ, crushing it into pulp.
All she heard was a muffled cry before everything went still and silent.
Victor's body was lifeless, blood pouring out from all sides.
The wind went down.
The forest returned to its calm state.
For the omega, it felt oddly peaceful even though the ground was littered with lifeless bodies of the hunters.
Evelyn turned around.
She needed to see Keiran.
She needed to see her pack.
Her body felt heavy as she took each step.
It was like the energy she had a few minutes ago was completely drained out of her.
Her vision turned hazy but she could see the blurred figures of people approaching her.
"K-Keiran? " Evelyn croaked out.
Those people were shouting something but she couldn't make out what it was.
"K-Keiran…… " The omega fell to the ground as she whispered out her mate's name. Her eyes turned heavy.
A heavy breath slipped past her lips before she lost consciousness.

Evelyn shut her eyes tightly as soon as she opened them. The bright light was making her eyes and head hurt.
"Hey….. "
She heard a soft voice.
"Are you alright, love? "
Evelyn opened her eyes in split seconds when she realized the voice was her mate's.
"K-Keiran! " She engulfed him in a tight hug.
Keiran breathed in his mate's scent as a sigh of relief slipped his lips.
"Are you okay, baby?"
Evelyn nodded.
"Do you feel dizzy? "
"N-No, but I'm thirsty… "
The alpha quickly gave her a glass of water which Evelyn downed in one go. He took her face into his hands, staring right into her beautiful green eyes.
"Don't ever do that again, " He said, his voice taking a commanding tone. "Do you know how scared I was? I thought I was going to lose you, " Keiran's voice turned shaky.
God knows what he felt when Evelyn was in the woods and fighting with those hunters.
"It's okay… It's over… I had to do it. You were i-injured and I-I just couldn't stand back… " She placed a kiss on his neck before snuggling into his chest. "Is your wound okay? Why hasn't it healed yet? " Worry took over her features when the omega saw his bicep covered in bandages.
"I'm okay, " The alpha shook his head. "It's the poison. They managed to get it out as much as possible but it still left some effect on me. It weakened my wolf and my healing ability so the wound will take some time to heal…" He gave her a small smile before placing a kiss on her forehead.
Evelyn frowned. "How long was I unconscious? " She looked up at him.
"You were out for a day and a half, " Keiran pressed his lips into a thin line.
"Really? Where's Josh? Is he—Is he okay?"
The alpha paused before he looked down.
"Keiran…. Is—Is Josh okay? " Evelyn felt her heartbeat pick up.
Her mate stayed silent for a second before he sighed heavily. He met the girl's eyes with a heavy heart. "He is not…., "
