Eero's Perspective
Early next morning, I went to the RGC as scheduled.
“Miss Eero?” My secretary called out with a panicking voice. Passing the coffee cup in her hands.
“Good morning, too, Rachelle. Why do you look so surprised to see me here?” I asked, placing my bag on top of my table.
“The Chairman asked me to overlook the designs of the villas for Phuket. Please ask for the blueprint from our architect. I need to get my hands on it before lunch,” I said without looking at her as I was busily typing my password on my laptop.
“I'll request it from the architecture department, but Miss Vice Chairman, aren't you supposed to be in the strategic meeting?”
“Strategic meeting? For what?”
“For the property in Greece that RGC wants to win over. The property where the Chairman wants to build a new Amman Hotel?” I froze in my seat and coughed as I choked on my coffee.
“What? Why didn't you tell me?” I hurriedly lifted myself from my seat and sprinted to the meeting hall while she struggled to follow my trail.
“Who called for this meeting? I was with my father, and it seems like he wasn't aware that a meeting like this was happening.”
“Beta Octavio did. I was about to call you about this meeting, but he told me that you know about this meeting.” I drew out in front of the meeting hall.
“That old hag. He's trying to sabotage me!” I said, gnashing my teeth in anger, but I couldn't afford to show up to the board seething in anger. I had to redeem myself and calm down.
“We're right about the Alpha King's adoptive daughter. She's an irresponsible one. Didn't she know how crucial this is for the company?”
“That's what I'm saying. How can she miss this?”
“Gentleman, before the Alpha King adopted her and made her the heir to the throne. She is just a lowly omega. We have to cut her some slack. Eero is still learning.” I heard them, and then the door opened; everyone seemed like they were on their way out of the meeting hall.
“There she is,” Octavio announced the obvious.
“We need to talk.”
The older men looked at each other. Lightly shaking their heads, they strolled, leaving me and Octavio in the hall.
“You look upset, your grace—” Beta Octavio swiftly freed himself from my hold, and then he slammed me against the wall, his hands wrapped around my neck; I had a hard time breathing.
“How dare you! Do you think I'll let you off the hook this time? I am the Alpha's heir, and you'll be punished for hurting me.” Octavio's glare turned darker, and he pressed his hand on my neck even more.
“I make sure that this will leave no mark. You won't have any evidence that I tried to hurt you. Did you think Codrus would believe you over me? I'm the only one he trusts the most in the realm.” Squirming in an attempt to free myself from him.
Octavio got his hand off me, but he pulled my hair to make our eyes clamped.
“You're smart for figuring out so soon that I plan to push Aelice to become your adoptive father's Luna, but that's just it. You can't make it stop from happening; I will not let you.” Beta Octavio let go of my hair and was like a psychopathic maniac. He fixed them himself, putting every stand back in place.
“Aelice is no victim here. She isn't a pawn. That woman is my daughter. My blood runs in her blood. Soon, she'll be just like me.”
“Aelice will never be like you. She's good, and I'll do anything in my power to protect her from you. Just wait and watch how I'll pluck you out of your position.” Octavio laughs, sending chills all over my body.
“Aren't you a little arrogant for that bits of power you have in hand, Eero? Can't you see all that you have is titles? You're the vice chairman, but I easily made you an outcast from the company that you own.”
“I can do so much more than just not include you in an important meeting.” Beta Octavio smiled.
“Watch your back because I'm not yet done making you pay for your attempt to sabotage my plan. This is just the beginning.”
The psycho slightly bowed his head in a curtsy before he left me to catch my breath in the hallway.
“Miss Vice Chairman, did you catch up with the meeting?”
“No, they were already done when I got there.”
“I'll ask for the minutes of the meeting from the Beta's secretary.”
“Yes, please.” Rachelle noticed something. Her eyes lurked longer in my face.
“You look pale. Did something happen to you?”
“Did the Beta hurt you?” She asked again, “If he did, then you must let your father know. There are CCTV all over the company. We can get a copy of the footage and show it to the Alpha King if you need any evidence for him to believe you.”
I was standing at the security office. A bitter smile hung up on my lips, seeing the black screen that should have been displaying the footage taken by the CCTV in the hall near the meeting room.
“What do you mean the CCTV in the meeting hall was broken?”
“Rachelle.”
“Miss Vice Chairman, I'm sure that the beta bribed them to make it look like the CCTV isn't working.”
“What the fuck are you blabbering about?”
“You useless fools! Beta Octavio assaulted Miss Eero, and we need the CCTV footage as evidence—”
“Nevermind. Forget about this,” I said before I dragged my secretary from the security's office.
“What do you mean we'll forget about this?”
“Beta Octavio is playing a dirty game, and to defeat him, I must play dirty too.”
“What do you plan to do? And Miss Eero, if you don't mind me asking, why is the beta doing this to you? He should be supporting you, right? He is working for the Alpha King, and you're the Alpha's daughter.”
“It's because he wants Regulus to be his, Rachelle; by the way, did you know where Claudius is?”
“No idea; he and his beta aren't coming in here for more than a week now.”
And he isn't coming home to the realm either. Claudius, where are you? What the hell are you up to?
