The Rebirth of My Dead Billionaire Wife

Chapter 123

Ch. 123 / 300 Apr 25, 2026

Alessia stepped into the grand ballroom of the Deveraux estate, her heels clicking softly against the polished marble floor. The room was breathtaking, lit by cascading crystal chandeliers that sparkled like stars overhead. The ceiling was painted with an intricate mural of cherubs and clouds, giving the illusion of a heavenly sky. Tall windows framed by heavy, gold-embroidered drapes overlooked the garden, where strings of fairy lights illuminated the lush greenery. The air buzzed with the hum of elegant chatter, laughter, and the soft notes of a live orchestra playing a waltz.

But as Alessia entered, all movement seemed to pause. Heads turned, and conversations quieted as she stepped further into the room, her red dress flowing around her like liquid fire. The silk fabric shimmered in the light, clinging to her figure in all the right places while delicately accentuating the curve of her growing belly. Her off-the-shoulder neckline showcased her graceful collarbones, and the high slit revealed just a hint of her toned leg as she walked. The matching red mask adorned with gold filigree framed her striking eyes, giving her an air of mystery and allure.

Pamela, in her emerald-green gown, leaned in and whispered, “You’re stopping traffic, Alessia.”

Alessia blushed under her mask but kept her composure, smiling softly. “Stop exaggerating, Pamela.”

“No exaggeration,” Pamela replied with a grin. “If Christian’s here, he’s probably passed out by now. You look like a goddess.”

Alessia shook her head, scanning the room. “I just hope I don’t trip.”

Pamela laughed. “With how you’re holding yourself, I think everyone would still applaud.”

As they moved further into the ballroom, Alessia took in the opulence around her. The floor was a mosaic of black and white marble, polished to perfection. Tables draped in cream silk were adorned with centerpieces of roses, hydrangeas, and orchids, all arranged around flickering golden candles. Waiters in crisp uniforms moved gracefully through the crowd, balancing trays of champagne flutes and hors d’oeuvres.

The orchestra was seated on a raised platform at the far end of the room, their music filling the space with elegance and energy. A grand staircase swept down into the ballroom, its banisters wrapped in garlands of white roses and ivy.

Pamela nudged Alessia gently. “Come on, let’s get you something to eat before you faint from all the attention.”

The buffet table was a feast for the eyes, laden with every delicacy imaginable. There were rows of savory canapés, platters of fresh seafood, carved meats, and an array of colorful salads. At the end of the table, a dessert station displayed miniature pastries, chocolate fountains, and an elaborate tiered cake adorned with edible flowers.

Alessia reached for a small plate, her eyes drawn to a smoked salmon canapé topped with a dollop of caviar. Pamela handed her a glass of sparkling water. “Hydrate, goddess. We can’t have you swooning mid-ball.”

“Thanks,” Alessia said, taking a sip. “This place is incredible. It’s like stepping into a fairy tale.”

Pamela smiled, her own plate piled high with tiny sandwiches and cheese. “And you’re the belle of the ball, whether you like it or not.”

As Alessia turned to pick up another canapé, she heard a deep, smooth voice behind her. “What a beautiful lady in red.”
