The Rebirth of My Dead Billionaire Wife

Chapter 137

Ch. 137 / 300 Apr 25, 2026

The warm breeze carried the scent of salt and flowers as Alessia stepped out onto the terrace of their villa in Bali. The sun had just begun its descent, casting the sky in hues of orange and pink. The infinity pool stretched out before her, its edge seemingly blending into the lush greenery and sparkling ocean beyond. She took a deep breath, letting the tranquility seep into her bones.

Theo appeared behind her, carrying two plates piled high with fresh tropical fruit—mangoes, dragon fruit, papayas, and pineapples, all perfectly sliced and vibrant in color. “Breakfast by the pool?” he asked, holding out a plate.

“Don’t mind if I do,” Alessia said, accepting the plate with a grin. She sat on one of the loungers and popped a piece of mango into her mouth. “Oh my God, this is incredible.”

Theo smirked, settling beside her. “You say that about everything we’ve eaten so far.”

“Because it’s true,” she shot back. “I don’t think I’ve ever had food this fresh. It’s like biting into sunshine.”

He chuckled, leaning back and watching her enjoy the fruit. “Wait until dinner. I found a local warung that’s supposed to have the best seafood in Bali.”

Alessia raised an eyebrow. “Are you trying to spoil me or fatten me up?”

“Both,” he said with a mischievous grin.

The next few days were a whirlwind of exploration and relaxation. Theo had planned the perfect balance of activities, ensuring Alessia could unwind but also experience the best of Bali. They started with a visit to the famous Tegallalang Rice Terraces, where the vibrant green fields seemed to stretch endlessly into the horizon.

“This is incredible,” Alessia said, marveling at the terraced landscape. “It’s like stepping into a postcard.”

Theo walked beside her, snapping photos of her as she admired the view. “You look better than the scenery,” he said, smirking.

She rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide her smile. “Save the flattery, Deveraux. You’re not that charming.”

“Lies,” he replied. “You’ve already fallen for it.”

That afternoon, they explored the Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud. Alessia was equal parts fascinated and terrified as cheeky monkeys darted around, stealing food from tourists and climbing on unsuspecting shoulders.

“One of them is staring at me,” Alessia whispered, inching closer to Theo. “It’s planning something.”

“Relax,” Theo said, stifling a laugh. “It’s just curious. Besides, I’ve got your back.”

As if on cue, a monkey leapt onto Theo’s shoulder, making Alessia burst out laughing. “Oh, who’s got whose back now?”

“Very funny,” Theo muttered, carefully handing the monkey a banana. “I’m glad my humiliation amuses you.”

“It really does,” she said, wiping tears of laughter from her eyes.

Back at the villa, the infinity pool became their favorite spot to relax. The warm water was soothing, and Alessia found herself spending hours floating on her back, staring at the endless blue sky.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Theo challenged her to a race across the pool. “Winner gets dessert,” he declared, already taking his position.

“You realize I’m pregnant, right?” Alessia said, raising an eyebrow. “This isn’t exactly a fair competition.”

“I’ll go easy on you,” Theo replied, grinning. “Promise.”

She rolled her eyes but agreed. “Fine. But if I win, I’m picking the dessert.”

“Deal,” he said, and they dove in.

To Theo’s surprise, Alessia was faster than he expected. She reached the other side just seconds before him, throwing her arms up in victory. “Ha! Beat you fair and square.”

“You cheated,” he said, feigning indignation. “You distracted me with how adorable you look swimming.”

“Excuses, excuses,” Alessia teased, climbing out of the pool. “I believe you owe me dessert.”

That night, they ventured out to the local warung Theo had mentioned. The small, family-run eatery was tucked away near the beach, its open-air setup illuminated by lanterns and fairy lights. The aroma of grilled seafood wafted through the air, making Alessia’s mouth water.

They ordered a feast: grilled snapper with sambal, prawns cooked in coconut milk, satay skewers, and a side of fragrant jasmine rice. Each bite was an explosion of flavor, the perfect balance of spice and sweetness.

“I think this might be the best meal I’ve ever had,” Alessia said, savoring a piece of perfectly cooked snapper.

Theo grinned. “Told you. I have great taste.”

She smirked. “Debatable.”

“Careful,” he said, pointing his fork at her. “You’re dangerously close to hurting my ego.”

After dinner, they grabbed cones of gelato from a nearby vendor and strolled along the beach. The sound of waves crashing against the shore was soothing, and the sand was cool beneath their feet.

“This has been… perfect,” Alessia said, glancing at Theo. “I don’t think I’ve ever felt this relaxed.”

He smiled, slipping his hand into hers. “That was the plan.”

They sat on the beach, watching the stars twinkle above them. Theo turned to her, his voice soft. “You know, you’re pretty amazing.”

Alessia raised an eyebrow. “Is this more of your charm?”

“Maybe,” he said, grinning. “But it’s also the truth.”

She leaned her head against his shoulder, a small smile on her lips. For the first time in a long while, everything felt just right.
