Jakes POV
When William told me Angel was upstairs and unconscious, I felt the colour drain from my face. I raced to her side, silently praying to the goddess that she had been reached in time. Though I was gutted, it wasn't me to find her; I'm glad it was her father. She was completely naked; her clothes were ripped to shreds on the floor. Using my heightened senses, I sniffed the air in the room and was glad that Jason and Angel's scents hadn't mixed; he had failed at mating with her. I took off my shirt and dressed Angel in it, hoping that my scent would keep her calm once she woke and make her feel safe.
I lifted her gently, placing one arm under her head and another under her knees, trying to be as gentle as possible. As I held Angel, her head fell against my chest; the sparks dancing along my skin felt amazing, like nothing I'd ever felt. I looked at her beautiful face taking in every perfect feature and growling, when I noticed that her lip was split and she had a bruise on her cheek. Whilst the liquidised silver was in her bloodstream, she wouldn't heal. I needed to get her to the pack doctor and get them to flush it out.
It didn't matter how long it took; I would help her overcome this. As I carried her down the stairs, I mind-linked Benson and told him to bring the car around. As soon as he arrived, I laid her out in the backseat covering her with a blanket.
"Please tell me he didn't." Worry was written all over Nick's face.
"No, I don't think he did. I can smell her; their scents haven't mixed, and she's unmarked." I sighed, rubbing my face.
"I want that mutt cuffed and immediately in the dungeon." I continued.
William had his turn with Jason. Now it was mine. After returning to my pack house, I took Angel to my room, placed her on the bed, and tucked her in. It didn't take long for Marie to arrive after Nick mind linked her. She was happy to sit with Angel until she woke and watched over her whilst the doctor could do what was needed to rid her blood of the silver. I didn't want her to be alone. As much as I wanted to be the one to stay with her, I knew that with all she had just been through, she needed family more.
'Jake, he's awake.'
'Thanks, I'll be right there. Oh, and Benson, make sure the cuffs are really comfortable.'
'Already ahead of you, man.'
Benson knew me so well; we both had the same sick and twisted thoughts regarding interrogation. On my way to the dungeon, I bumped into Sid, who had a massive bloody grin on his face. Clearly, this guy didn't know what the hell had gone on. Sid was my gamma; his dad was gamma to my dad, and so on. He had been away visiting his sister, who was mated to a wolf at the Bloodstone Pack.
"Yo man, congratulations. Where is this unlucky lady?" He was practically jumping with joy as he patted me on the back.
"Sid, you may want to calm yourself. A lot has happened, so everything is a bit hectic right now."
"Don't leave me hanging, man. Where is she?" His eyes roamed the room behind me.
"Come to the dungeons, and I'll explain."
As we reached the door to the dungeon, I could have sworn someone was watching us, but I couldn't be sure. After what had happened tonight, it was probably me just being paranoid. The dungeon was a horrible place. It wasn't clean, and it stank. My family had used these dungeons ever since the pack had been formed, and I think they just left the dried blood to scare the next prisoner.
When me and Sid got to Jason's cell, it looked like William had given him a fairly good beating. Now it's my turn.
Crystals POV
Looking at the time, knowing it was late and Jake would now be returning from whatever party he went to, I decided I'd make my way to his room. If I turned up and his mate rejected him, he would want me. As I entered the pack house, I saw Jake and Sid heading down to the dungeon; what the hell were they doing this time of night? Yes, I'm nosey, so I followed them.
Just as I got to the door, an older guy was exiting and bumped into me. For an older guy, he was hot, like really hot, and the aura surrounding him was more powerful than Jakes. It left the hairs on my neck standing on end.
"Sorry, miss, but this is not the place for a young woman such as yourself to be wondering too." His face was like stone as he spoke.
"Not that it's any of your business, but I was hoping to ask Jake a question. You wouldn't happen to know when he'll be up, do you?" I said, smiling up at him, though the look he gave was one of pure suspicion. "Please?" He just raised his eyebrow as if studying me.
"Unless it's an emergency, may I suggest you put your needs into writing and leave it on his desk? Your Alpha is busy right now and will be joining his mate shortly. So if you wouldn't mind..." He scowled at me while gesturing for me to be on my way.
"His mate? I don't know who you are or where you're getting your information, but Jake and I are a couple. We're in love." I smirked at the man before spinning on my heel and walking away.
Who the fuck is this little girl that thinks she can just turn eighteen and steal my man. I will find out and show her how wrong she is.
