Jake's POV
"Oh my goddess, please help me. I'm in a hotel room. I think I'm in crescent city... Please find me." Her soft voice, laced with fear, called out to me.
I had no idea how she could mind-link me, but she did, causing Hunter to howl in my head. Normally you could only mind link if you were part of the same pack, or you could link with the person you were mated to once you had marked each other. Angel was a part of the pack, but not officially... not yet anyway, and we hadn't marked each other. I figured it had to be one of the gifts that Selena told me she would have.
"Crescent City, we have to go there now. Benson, I need you to gather half a dozen of our warriors and get them ready we leave in...."
"Excuse me, Alpha Jake, if I may, before you give the order, but we need a plan before rushing in there. The last thing we need is rushing in there, earning casualties. You need to remember your mate is in there." Carl interrupted me, but he was right.
"I swore an oath when I became Alpha to protect my pack now that includes Angel, and I'll be fucking damned if I'm going to let him win. So you're right. Let's get this plan together and quick." Hunter silently agreed with me.
As everyone left my office, I closed my eyes and tried to reach out to Angel. I could just about feel the pull of the mate bond even though we hadn't mated. I continuously called out to her, but I began to worry when I didn't get a response. During my alpha training, I was taught that once we completed the mating process with our mate, we would feel what each other felt: pain, fear, love and betrayal. I wondered if she could reach me would I be able to feel if she had been hurt? I didn't feel any pain, and neither did my wolf. We wanted to take it as a good sign but couldn't if we were wrong.
Jasons POV
It didn't take long for me to realise that Wayne would double-cross me; he had acted shifty since he overheard my conversation with Elder Owen. I decided to use the fact that he was oblivious to my knowledge of him to my advantage. When he left Belle Chasse, where we sought cover, I alerted the others that it was time to leave. Belle Chasse is a human-populated town, fourteen miles away from Crescent City, where we needed to go to conduct the ceremony without being disturbed. Alpha Oliver of the Crescent Pack ran the Crescent City but didn't bother dealing with anyone who trespassed into his territory. Being known as the Royal King, he wouldn't dare challenge me, so I knew our location would be kept secret.
The mix of wolfsbane and liquidised silver wasn't keeping Angel down for as long as I had hoped. She would regain consciousness every twenty minutes, so I had one of the wolves re-inject her. I knew what I needed to do for Angel to be marked, and I honestly didn't care. So what if it degraded her, her father degraded me with all the shitty jobs he gave me. Whether he realised it or not didn't matter anymore; I knew I would get the last laugh by taking his daughter's virtue and not giving her a chance to be with her fated mate, the one person who would unconditionally love her.
'Even if there were another way, I wouldn't take I; she's a rare beauty, and if we keep her around, imagine the strength of the pup she would bless us with.'
'I know Blake; for the longest time, I loved her mother but could never act on those feelings, not when she was mated already. But her daughter looks just like her and is strong. Even if I must keep her weak and locked up for the remainder of her life, she will produce me a pup.'
After ensuring Angel was still unconscious, I carried her from the sofa to the bed, securing her wrists to the headboard. Just because I would take her as mine didn't mean she couldn't be comfortable. As I was about to leave the room, there was a knock at the door.
"COME IN!" I shouted, trying to remain relatively calm.
"Alpha Jason, if I..." he spotted Angel handcuffed to the bed and immediately looked back at me. "I apologise for the intrusion, but Alpha Own has said that one of his wolves spotted a man talking with another about Princess Angel a few months ago. They made an oath of some kind, and one of these men was sworn to protect her at all costs."
"Does he. know what these men looked like." Irritation is clear in my voice.
"He said that one of them was a bounty hunter, but the other he couldn't place."
"Well, if that's all..." I gestured to the door, hoping he would leave.
Well, shit, if there's a bounty hunter sworn to protect her, I would need to bump up my timeline. Elder Owen would be at the Moon Goddess temple just before the full moon to go through last-minute checks, but with everyone looking for Angel, I would need to mate with her ASAP. Once she bore my mark, there was nothing anyone could do; they wouldn't even be able to stop my accent to Alpha power as being Angel's mate by law, I was entitled to it. After all, females aren't allowed to rule.
Knowing that Angel would be unconscious for a little longer, I went for a shower to calm my nerves. Fuck why was I nervous? I've been with plenty of women in my time. I'm fourth-two, for crying out loud and acting like a teenage boy about to get lucky for the first time. After my shower, I didn't bother getting dressed; let's face it, I wouldn't need clothes for what would happen. Leaving the bathroom I looked towards the bed. Angel really was the spitting image of her mum.
Before I knew it, I climbed onto the bed and stroked her beautiful little face. Her lips were plump, and the thought of them around my cock instantly made me hard. As I climbed on top of her she woke up. Just as she was about to scream, I put the tip of my hardened cock on her lips, silencing her. I could see the build-up of tears in her eyes, making their blueness sparkle.
"Don't look so worried little Princess. I'm going to take good care of you."
