The Cursed Bloodline

Chapter Twenty-Seven - War!

Ch. 27 / 40 Aug 14, 2024

A violent storm erupted from the sky as dark and threatening clouds formed overhead, they circled above the massive alpha who easily towered over his opponents. Odin gazed up for a moment as a familiar feeling overwhelmed him as those who stood before him seemed to perish as if they had never existed, to begin with, and yet something like that was seemingly impossible. He gazed up curiously as the air seemed to shimmer as if diamonds hung from the endless sky, a warm feeling overcame him at that moment as his eyes shifted to the space just before him.

And so, it begins, A song like voice said as the vibrations seemed to fill the air.

She appeared from the smoke as a rage of thunder beat down from the sky and decimated the ground that separated the impending armies, Orion lifted a paw from the ground as he backed up slightly just as the earth began to crumble from around him. He glanced at the familiar woman whose long silver strands of hair encircled her like a contained whirlwind, her striking silver eyes glanced down at him affectionately as her bare feet hovered in mid-air. She appeared differently to him at that moment as her sheer beauty seemed to radiate more powerfully the more her warm aura illuminated against his soul. Caoimhe’s silver eyes glimmered with excitement as she gazed at the wolves who stood defiantly before her as she knew she would enjoy what was about to happen next as it was blood that she sought after.

“Bow before me or perish,” The beautiful woman’s voice recited as her gown woven from silver thread floated within the air from around her.

“Never witch!” Mattias shouted angrily as he backed away slightly.

“Very well Mutt,” Caoimhe said with a smirk as the air around her seemed to change within a moment.

“You wretched thing!” Mattias shouted angrily as he made a hand motion that signalled his fellow packmates to attack.

“Father, wait! Don’t harm Odin!” Essen shouted as determination continued to lurk within her eyes.

She still hasn’t given up on the idea of becoming Luna, Caoimhe thought to herself disgusted.

“You will never have my man!” Caoimhe said as her feet finally touched the ground.

A booming noise echoed throughout the land the moment her gentle feet touched the rough terrain; it was the moment when Caoimhe knew the fate of those she loved the most and yet the outcome didn’t waver her next decision. Caoimhe raised a hand to her waist as she demanded the ground continue to crumble from beneath her, Her hair made from the finest of silks grew more violent as it spun in tangles from around her as she clenched her fists together. It was a defining moment when Caoimhe knew that she could win against the souls who opposed her and her mate, and yet she was prepared to end all their lives for it.

“Your man? He is nothing but a coward who flees from his responsibility as an alpha,” Mattias snickered as he attempted to brace himself against the winds that violently thrashed from around him.

“He is a man who was destined to awaken his mate no matter the cause or reason,” Her voice recited as it resonated within the bones of those who stood before her.

“What?” Mattias asked confused now as he continued to take a step backwards.

“You heard me mutt,” Caoimhe said as she glanced towards Odin with an affectionate look in her silver eyes.

You will perish, Caoimhe’s voice recited within the air without her lips moving an inch.

“No!” Mattias said terrified now as he gave his pack members a mental order to flee from the surrounding area and not even that would save their damned souls.

“Run!” The terrified man screamed as the ground gave out from around them.

He looked down just in time to watch as the earth shook from under him as the goddess of death glared at him with a sickening look, she knew what she wanted and all it took was a flex of her wrist to accomplish her desires as she watched as the ones who envied the alpha fell from grace before her.

“Caoimhe, No!” Odin shouted as he attempted to reach out for her and yet the raging wind refused to allow him to gain an inch despite the many steps he took to gain any ground towards the one soul who he loved the most.

Caoimhe grinned at the panic within her own mate’s voice and yet she was capable of much more then he was imagining, Caoimhe finally clenched her fist closed as her beautiful silver eyes clenched shut and yet there was something particular about the motion, it was as if she were focusing on something that wasn’t of our natural world.

“Rise,” Caoimhe’s haunting voice recited as she reached out to forces that the naked eye couldn’t perceive.

A flash of light appeared within the surrounding area as a maddening grin appeared upon Caoimhe’s face as she watched as the souls of the dead rise from around her, they were yearning to inhabit the flesh and bones of a living being once again even though they had been dead for centuries. Caoimhe rested her eyes as she reached out for the one soul who she yearned for the most, the one soul who she was destined to be with and yet he had always been at an arm's length away, he was who Odin should have been. One soul grew brighter than the rest as he faced Odin, he mouthed indistinguishable words and yet Odin felt as if he could understand the very mumblings that escaped his pursed lips.

Free Caoimhe, His lips muttered as Odin nodded in understanding.

It was at that moment when the war between alphas began as the soul that had once belonged to his beloved mate seemed to crumble from before him.
