My sudden words stopped Odin in his tracks as he looked back at me suspiciously, my heart began to race at the thought of the two colliding in a fierce fight as I knew Conri wouldn’t fight back to protect himself. I sighed from frustration as I repositioned my body weight so I was now standing between the two forms, Conri remained calm behind me as Odin seethed with frustration and defiance and yet my words held over him like an unseen command.
“Why can’t I move Caoimhe?” Odin asked angrily.
“Because you’re going to do something,” I stated.
“Something stupid? Like claiming what is rightfully mine?” Odin demanded.
“I may be yours but not even you command me,” I said in a steady tone.
“You aren’t the girl I pulled from the ocean,” Odin stated frustratingly as he brushed his dark brown locks back.
“No, I am the Goddess Divine,” I stated harshly.
There was silence from around us as they took in my words and yet they couldn’t allow denial to consume them this time as they had all seen what I am capable of, no one possessed the power that I did. They held this knowledge and yet the terrifying truth that steadily filled the air was the realization that I could take a life with ease as I was the one being in existence who held the power of life and death.
“You have awoken a monster,” Svarog sputtered.
Ure growled at the man as he shoved his foot deep within Svarog’s back causing an unsteady cracking noise to radiate through the air as his spine threatened to split in two. Svarog cursed loudly as the intense pain consumed him as his body desperately attempted to mend his newest injuries that Ure had inflicted upon him.
“You can torture him all you want but he won't die,” I stated as I glanced at Ure.
“How is that possible?” Ure asked curiously.
“He was cursed when I was born,” I said as I spat at Svarog with disgust.
“So, you’re saying that he will live if I slit his throat?” Ure asked.
“Try it out,” I stated happily.
I could tell that Ure despised Svarog just as much as I did as the man had single handily threatened the lives of both his sisters. Immoenne was the only one who knew of her sister's hiding place and that was how it would remain until we could make these lands safe for the child to play once again. I resented the fact that I’d missed out on a childhood, my innocence was stolen from me just moments after I was born, I knew no happiness as all I possessed was the taste for death and the need to protect those who were precious to me. I never knew of this foreign emotion before, the need to protect the innocent lives who embraced me as their family instead of shunning me as my blood had done.
Odin is my blood, I thought distantly.
“Ure, don’t,” Odin stated just as Ure pulled a knife from his pants pocket.
“Ure, do it,” I said only my words had changed.
The voiced that surfaced from my lips was low and hypnotic, my words surrounded Ure causing his body to relax as his expression relaxed and a fog consumed his eyes. Ure slowly flipped open the pocketknife as if being controlled by invisible strings and steadily took the sharpened blade to the despicable man’s throat. Ure distantly held my gaze as the blade slid against my father's pulled back neck and splattered red with his newly splattered blood. Svarog’s skin parted with ease as Ure dug the blade in deeper, slicing Svarog’s carotid artery, the fat looked like crimson bubbles that demanded to be popped, his muscles were stripped as Ure’s grip slipped slightly with the new moisture upon his palms.
“Ure!” Odin shouted terrified as he witnessed the scene from before him.
Odin’s eyes widened as Svarog desperately grasped for breath only to choke on his blood as the thick liquid trailed down his severed esophagus and drowned his lungs in sweet agony. Odin took a step backwards as he realized the power I help over his Beta, the desire to end my tainted life consumed him at that moment and yet he attempted to bury the need deep within the darkest pits of his mind.
Dark thoughts require severe consequences, I said through our mind link.
You need to stop, Odin pleaded as his eyes widened in horror.
I am only encouraging the thoughts that are already residing in Ure’s mind, I said as I tore my eyes away from Ure, effectively breaking the connection between us.
“What the hell…” Ure mumbled as he dropped the pocketknife to the blood-splattered ground.
“It’s not like it’s the first life he’s taken,” I said as I turned to look at Odin.
“That may be the case, but we don’t take a prisoner's life unless our hand is forced,” Odin said as he gritted his teeth.
“Lives never truly end,” I stated.
“We view mortality differently then you, Luna,” Immoenne said as she bravely spoke up.
Luna? I thought curiously.
“She is not the Luna!” Essen screamed annoyed as she squirmed from under Conri’s paw.
“Shut up Essen,” Odin said.
He’s about reached his limit, I thought to myself with a frown.
There was only so much a man could take in one day and his friends’ lives being in jeopardy just about brought him to the brink of insanity.
“What should we do with our prisoners?” Immoenne asked as she grabbed Essen by the arm and pulled her to her feet.
“We take them to Elijah as hostages,” Odin said as he nodded at his siblings.
“Odin!” Essen cried out pitifully.
“Know this, Essen,” Odin started to say as he approached her.
“You will never be my woman,” Odin stated as he leaned into her, so his face was mere inches from hers.
A fiery rage burned within his eyes as he stared down his previous lover, I knew at that moment that this man would forever be mine.
