The Alpha Prince's Redemption

You Look Pale

Ch. 32 / 83 Mar 16, 2026

Nalya

It has been three days since Azura took me to the bus station. She was a crying mess the whole time, but Zac was there to console her.

Reaching the small town called Dessert, I booked an inn for two weeks as advised by Azura, and I've been staying there.

Desert town was pretty, and I couldn't smell one wolf. It was neat and orderly. I got the phone she gave me and texted her a happy picture of me all dressed up and leaving the inn to look for work. The Inn manager told me the mall was a good place to start as the restaurants always look for people to hire.

I received a notification on my phone and smiled.

Azura: All the best, sweetie. Now, post it to social media with the hashtag, HIRE ME. I shook my head and did as she said. The post got so many likes and comments, wishing me good luck.

There was something about the internet. It makes the world less lonely.

I reached the mall and went to every shop but I couldn't find any work. On my way out, I saw a hiring sign at a diner. I crossed my fingers and walked in to talk to the manager.

After talking to the manager, Frank, he agreed to put me on trial as a waitress, and if I did well the next two weeks, I'd be a paid employee. I was ecstatic.

I called Azura immediately, and she was happy for me.

"The Alpha Prince came to see me today," she said, and my breathing hitched in my chest.

" He wanted to know your whereabouts,"

"Did you tell him?"

"I told him that I dropped you at the station, and you got on a train to go to a human town,"

It was a good thing I did not tell her the exact town I was staying in.

"Okay,"

"But... Nalya, he looked terrible, and he even commanded me, something he doesn't do with pack members,"

Why does Rhaegar want to know my whereabouts now? I felt sadness wash over me, but I instantly kicked thoughts of him away. I wanted to forget him and his rejection.

"Thank you for informing me,"

"Nalya, what's going on between you and the Prince?" she asked.

"He is my mate,"

Azura was quiet after I told her, breathing, " He rejected me," I added.

"I'm sorry, sweetie," she said softly.

"Me too, but don't be sad for me. I'm alright now," I wiped the tears that escaped my eyes. I cleared my throat and changed the topic,

"How did it go with the girl who openly threw herself at Zac?"

"I confronted her and almost beat her ass up," she said. I could hear the smile in her voice. We talked for a long time before going to bed.

A month has gone by, and working at the diner was pretty fun for me. I made a new friend named Kiyana. She was a pretty bubbly girl with long brown hair and brown eyes. Kiyana and I were opposites while she was outgoing, I wasn't but we got along well.

She worked at the diner with me and was looking for a roommate. We decided to stay together so we could split the rent and bills.

"Babe! What's taking so long!"

"Coming," I hollered from the sink. I got up and washed my mouth. I fixed my hair again and joined her in the parlor. She frowned.

"You look pale," she commented.

"I'll take some pills after work," I said.

"Cheese?" she asked, putting a plate on my face. I shook my head.

"I hate it these days,"

"Lately, we've been getting sick and so picky with food. If I didn't know better, I'd say you're pregnant," We laughed about that together, but I stopped when I remembered the last time I spent with Prince Rhaegar. Kiyana tilted her neck with an o shape formed on her lips.

"No, you didn't,"

"I slept with someone, and we didn't use protection," I said slowly, unable to believe the possibility I might be pregnant from that passionate night.

"Wow... You made me feel like a sinner for fucking Elo without a condom,"

"This is different, Kiya," I barked. She was taking this too lightly while I started to freak out here.

"I'm sorry. So, where is this dude?" she asked.

"He's someone I don't want to associate with. He hurt me pretty badly," I said on the verge of tears.

Kiyana was cursing Rhaegar now, and I bet if he were here, she'd kill him.

"I'm sure it's nothing. After work, I'll go to the pharmacy to do a test,"

I nodded, and we went to work. However, I couldn't focus the whole day. The chance of me being pregnant scared the hell out of me. I was broken, and young.

I was happy once work finished at the diner. Kiyana and I didn't stay back to eat with the rest of the employees as we normally did.

"I'm scared, Kiya," I confessed, breathing in and out through my mouth.

"Me too," she whispered. She squeezed my hand and entered the store. She grabbed the test, and we went to the bathroom to pee on the test.

Five minutes later, the test was positive. My heart dropped in my chest.

"You know these things are so unreliable. Let's take another," Kiyana suggested, and I nodded.

Twenty minutes later, we were looking at ten positive tests.

"Should we-"

"I'm pregnant! I'm fucking pregnant!" I snapped.

"Whooo, relax Mama. I've never heard you curse before,"
