Many years ago, Nadia found out the man she loved was using her for money. She went to confront him but got in a fatal accident. She stayed in a coma for months, and when she awakened, she couldn't remember some things. It was a tough time for her. She hired private investigators to look for her daughter to no avail because they didn't have enough data. Maybe that's why she spent her years growing her company.
Now, she was more successful than before.
"I'm sorry that happened to you,"
I grabbed her hand gently and squeezed it. I didn't know how to give her any comfort. She cleared her throat and straightened, cleaning invisible dust on her dress.
"I should check on Roma. We are going out for dinner," she said.
"He's a pain in my ass,"
"It's a phase. He'll outgrow, plus, you slept with his friend,"
The week went on pretty smoothly. I spent most of my days working hard, and I was surprised when Madam Royce gave me money for the work I did in the two months I've been here. I received another Cupid gift from Layth. This time, it was a wristwatch. I didn't use his things because I wanted to return them once I saw him, but he hadn't come, so I kept them safely.
I also received a note from my mystery admirer. He has been kind with words, but it wasn't signed. I remained hopeful he would reveal himself before I left this pack.
"Do you still feel unwell?" Azura asked when I entered the car. Lately, I've been sick and can't keep anything I ate in my stomach without throwing it out.
"Yes, I think I just got food poison or something," I sighed.
"Ready?" Azura asked. She was smiling as we got ready to go to the photoshoot.
"Yes, but I need to talk to you," I said, holding her hand.
"I will be leaving this pack the day after tomorrow," I told her. Her face fell, all her excitement vanished, and her eyes filled with tears.
"Is the alpha kicking you out? Did someone say something to you?" she asked, and I shook my head.
"No, no, it was my decision. I think it's time now,"
"I don't want you to leave," she croaked, tears running down her face.
"But I have to... this is for the best, and this has always been my plan, remember?"
"I know, but I just didn't think you'd go through with it especially now that things are going great,"
It took me some time to calm her, but I did. She understood my reasons.
"Just promise me we'll talk every day," she cried. I smiled and nodded, pulling her in a warm hug. I was so grateful that I met her and we were friends. I wiped away her tears and told her to drive.
We reached the location, and the shoot went well.
"Models, someone came all the way to see how everything is going," Stan sings, smiling from ear to ear. A woman came from behind him. She was the woman I saw talking to Rhaegar last week.
"Hello," she said in a sultry voice. We all waved and greeted her.
"Guys, this is Miss Nadia LaCoitx. The CEO of this company. She was in the area and decided to come to say hi," Stan said. Miss Nadia's gentle gaze landed on me, and a warmness spread throughout my body. She stepped close and held my chin.
"Your name?" she asked.
"Nalya Martin, Ma'am," I said, and her breath shuddered. She moved away from me and looked at the middle-aged man she came with. Miss Nadia looked disoriented, and the man caught her.
"Okay, work well, and I hope to see you all next Friday," she said and left quickly. We exchanged glances. That was so weird.
We were given our boxes after the shoot. This time, the content was different from the last time. We received jeans, a leather jacket, and heels with a fee of one thousand five hundred.
"I'll come tomorrow to take you to the nearest town, and you can board a bus or train to a human town," Azura said.
"Thank you, Azura,"
I reached the foyer and looked at the common area. It was so quiet since most members went for holidays, and Rhaegar and his men were away helping another back, so Kendrick was in charge. I went to my room and sat on the table, getting a pen and paper. I wrote a letter to Nate and Ella. I wouldn't want to leave without thanking them for their kindness.
When I finished, I wrote a thank you card for Rhaegar. I was most grateful he agreed to let me stay.
I woke up early in the morning. I wanted to shift into my wolf form because I wouldn't be shifting as it wasn't too safe in the human world. I went to the backyard to shift. However, my wolf refused to. She was lazy and hurt that we would be leaving Prince Rhaegar behind.
I was still arguing with my wolf when a melody caught my ears. Someone was playing the flute beautifully, might I add. I followed the sound and a woman sitting elegantly in a meditating position. Her back was turned to me. I listened to her play, and my mind immediately eased and calmed. I leaned against a tree and closed my eyes to enjoy it. It sounded so familiar.
'You like it, baby?' A soothing voice said. My eyes shot open. What was that? I saw a blurry image in my head.
"Hello, there,"
