Methis’s POV

“You know if you keep at this you won’t ever heal. No one is above problems. Not even me the counsellor.”

“Well go deal with your own problems instead of mine!” I blurted out. All he needed to do was raise his eyebrow at me and I realized my mistake. “I am so sorry, Sir. I did not mean it that way, Sir.”

“It’s fine, Miss Delis we all lose our cool occasionally.”

“Please just call me Methis.”

“So what’s the issue here Mehtis?”

“It’s my best friend. I think she hates me now.”

“Why would assume that?”

“Well, I went to talk to her today and she snubbed me. A friend of mine and her brother had a fight earlier so she is mad at me for it all.”

“Understandable.”

“What do I do?” I asked.

“Just talk to her. Keep aside any friendliness. Talk to her like a new person. Like you are meeting a stranger that you want to make your friend but this stranger has some prejudice about your race. Just imagine that sort of scenario. Then apply it in real life. alright?”

“Alright. I have a test to write soon.” I nodded.

We talked for some more time and eventually, he sent me on my way.

With each passing moment, the yearning for normalcy intensified, a desperate wish to rewind time and erase the lines that now divided me from the friends I once held dear. I longed for the simplicity of life unmarred by supernatural twists and the consequences of choices beyond my control.

In the midst of my internal turmoil, the bell rang to announce the end of the test. The results, when revealed, mirrored the disarray of my thoughts—I had failed. The weight of disappointment settled over me, casting a shadow on the academic pursuits that once felt like pillars of stability.

The journey home unfolded as a solitary pilgrimage through the familiar yet estranged streets. The city, bathed in the amber hues of the setting sun, seemed to echo the dissonance within. Each step carried the weight of unspoken words and fractured connections, a narrative of friendships unravelling against the backdrop of supernatural entanglements.

The chatter of the passing crowd became a distant murmur, drowned by the cacophony of my own contemplations. Faces blurred into anonymity, mirroring the hollowness of my recent interactions. The weight of Sophia's cold dismissal lingered, an indelible mark on the canvas of my once-vibrant social life.

Home, once a sanctuary, now harbored the residue of a day marred by solitude and academic disappointment. The door to my apartment, a threshold between the external tumult and my private refuge, swung open to welcome the weight of unspoken burdens.

The confines of my living space embraced me with a quiet familiarity, yet the air within resonated with the haunting notes of discord. The events of the day unfolded like a silent film, each scene playing out in the recesses of my consciousness. The failed test, Sophia's abrupt coldness, and the prevailing sense of isolation cast a shadow over the sanctuary of my apartment.

As I settled into the solitude, the silence was punctuated by the muffled sounds of my own sobs. The tears, unbidden and unrestrained, became a cathartic release—an acknowledgment of the emotional turbulence that had gripped my day. The city outside, with its sprawling complexity, seemed to mirror the intricate tapestry of my emotions—a tapestry woven with threads of uncertainty, regret, and the haunting echoes of unanswered questions.

The night, a shroud that enveloped the city in its embrace, witnessed the quiet unravelling within the confines of my apartment. The journey home, marked by the discordant notes of a day in disarray, culminated in the solitude of tears and the unspoken yearning for the simplicity that had slipped away.

As I succumbed to the exhaustion of emotions, sleep became a refuge, offering a temporary escape from the harsh reality that awaited me outside the realm of dreams. In the quiet solace of slumber, I hoped for a reprieve, a chance for the world to reset and grant me a tomorrow where the burden of the extraordinary would lift, if only for a moment.

Jamal’s POV

I woke with a start, the sensation of water surrounding him. Panic seized me as I realized I was submerged, the weight of the liquid pressing against my chest. Instinctively, I tried to gasp for air, but the water rushed into my lungs. Just as darkness threatened to consume me, an involuntary transformation took over, and I found myself in my wolf form.

In this canine manifestation, my senses heightened. I could see more clearly in the dim underwater environment, and my instincts guided him. Swiftly, I oriented myself, recognizing the oppressive coils of a massive snake that had entangled me. The realization me him that the last thing I remembered was being pulled into the sewer.

The serpent, an ancient creature with scales that shimmered like midnight, coiled and struck with remarkable speed. I, fueled by my wolf instincts, responded with a dance of evasion and counterattacks. Fangs clashed against scales, and the confined space amplified the intensity of their struggle.

The serpent's body rippled with undulating strength as it sought to ensnare me in its coils. I, agile and resilient, twisted and turned, avoiding the lethal embrace. The sewer walls reverberated with the impact of our collisions, creating a symphony of combat in the confined space.

I, caught off guard, fought against the powerful currents, my fur soaked and heavy. The serpent, too, grappled with the force of the drain, its immense size making it a formidable opponent even in the face of the surging water. The struggle took on a new dimension as we grappled not only with each other but with the force of nature itself.

Their fight became a desperate battle for survival as the currents threatened to drag them further into the unknown abyss. I, my strength waning, summoned the last reserves of my energy to navigate the turbulent waters. The serpent, equally determined, thrashed against the currents with primal fury.

In a moment of sheer adrenaline-fueled determination, I seized the serpent's neck, sinking my fangs deep into its flesh. The serpent, weakened and disoriented, succumbed to the relentless assault.

In a final, daring maneuver, I exploited a moment of vulnerability in the serpent's defense. I lunged with all his remaining strength, sinking his teeth into a critical area. The serpent convulsed, its form writhing in agony. I seized the opportunity to break free from the constricting coils.

The serpent, defeated and wounded, retreated into the depths. I, battered and breathless, watched as it vanished into the shadows. Triumphant yet weary, I swam towards the surface.

As the tumultuous waters of the open ocean engulfed me and the defeated serpent, my consciousness teetered on the precipice of oblivion. In the moments before I succumbed to the inexorable pull of exhaustion, my thoughts raced through the kaleidoscope of my life.

Methis, the lighthouse of my turbulent journey, flickered in my mind like a cherished memory. i pondered the sacrifices and struggles that led me to this point, the lengths I had gone to reclaim her from the clutches of the Xander. The memory of her smile, a beacon of warmth in the cold currents, ignited a surge of determination within me.

My pups, Autumn and Summer, flashed vividly in my thoughts.
