A little favour
That night, Bella snuck out of her room while the guard were taking a shift, she had studied their movements and knew exactly what time the switch would begin and how long it would take for the next guard to get to her door.
She rushed out immediately it was time to the dungeon where she found another guard standing by the door, she jumped on him and snapped his neck causing him to fall to the ground then she picked up the keys and went in searching for Denise.
"Denise" she whispered.
"Right here" Denise replied guiding her to her cell.
"Bella, what are you doing here?" She asked once she saw her.
"I came to get you out, I know you are not the one who poisoned Coast and I believe you" Bella replied being the first thing she thought would be on Denise's mind. Bella knew fully well who was behind Coast's poisoning and she didn't want Denise to blame herself for it.
"I thought you had abandoned me thinking that I did it" She began crying, after staying the dungeon for a while with no one to save her not even her mate, she felt extremely sad that everyone could forget her like that. She had absolutely no one to believe her.
"I would never do that" Bella wiped her tears immediately.
"I am so glad you came for me" she relayed.
"How about we go and rescue Lucian" Bella asked making it known to her that Lucian was also there.
"Lucian is here" She asked startled, she had thought he abandoned her too without knowing he was also locked up. Denise wondered why she didn't get his scent but then the dungeon was extremely old and was filled with people, it would be hard to distinguish his scent among all the filth and blood and everything.
"Yes" Bella led the way as they kept searching until they got to the last corner and there they found him. Lucian wasn't completely healed from his wounds but he looked okay.
"Denise" he immediately stood up once he saw her.
"Lucian" Denise pulled up a happy face, she was so thrilled to see Lucian that she began crying again.
Bella helped open the lock and allowed to two love birds to be together as she watched them quietly. Lucian hugged Denise tightly filling himself with her warmth.
"I thought you had forgotten about me" she said.
"I would never do that, I tried to save you but things turned sideways and Adeline got in control. She wouldn't let me take you out" he confessed.
"It's true, Adeline is in charge because she tricked Coast into agreeing that she would be in charge while he was gone" Bella explained better, she was certain that Coast would never have given Adeline any authority in his pack if he was in his right mind.
"Why would anyone believe that" Denise questioned.
"She had the Alpha's seal stamped on the paper, the Alpha's seal is as good as the Alpha's word" Bella explained further and Denise understood what was going on. Adeline could accuse her because she had the Alpha's seal to back her up.
"You two have to leave now, you cannot get caught" Bella turned to them, she was able to get them out of the dungeon, the next thing was for them to get out of the castle entirely and be safe outside of it.
"You are coming with us right?" Lucian asked, he couldn't leave Bella behind because he knew the danger she would face from being alone in the castle and beside she was Coast's mate, it was his duty to also protect her.
"I can't come with you. With you guys gone, someone has to take the fall for it" she muttered.
"Take the fall, that is exactly what I am trying to avoid. You would be blamed for our escape" Lucian expressed his concerns over her staying behind. She was the only one on their side and Adeline was suspect her for helping them escape.
"Don't worry about me, for some reason I am certain that I won't be harmed.
I just don't want to leave when I know that Coast is here, I have to reach out to him somehow and help him. Who knows what Adeline is planning to do to him next" she stated. Bella feared what Adeline and Almano might do to Coast if she also escaped and she couldn't give them an Avenue to hurt him. With her around she would be able to figure out their plan and try to protect him.
"Are you sure about this?" Lucian asked still concerned about it.
"Yes, I can't come with you. You can come to save me later but for now I can't leave. I need to know what those two are scheming so that I can alter their plans" she answered.
"If you say so then" Lucian answered finally letting go as he walked deeper into the dungeon.
"Where are you going?" Bella asked confused. She believed he was supposed to follow her back for them to escape.
"There is a secret door that only the Alpha, Beta and I know" he said and touched the wall, he pushed it as hard as he could and the wall shifted.
"We will be going now, I hope you take care of yourself" Lucian stated, he knew quite well that what she was doing was dangerous but he couldn't stop her because she was determined to do it.
"I will" she replied and quickly went back.
When she got to her room, she found the guard already by the door.
"Damn it" she cursed, she had wasted so much time in the dungeon that the guard got there before her.
Bella looked around and found a stone behind her, she picked it up and threw it down the stairs to create a distraction. The guard bought it and went ahead to look when she snuck back into her room and laid on her bed to act like nothing happened.
After an hour, there was commotion in the castle, she had hear the guards running and she knew they had found out that Lucian and Denise had escaped.
The door to her room flung open and Almano stormed in,
"Did you do this?" He demanded.
"What is going on?" She feigned ignorance.
"Did you set them free" he asked again.
"What are you talking about?" She questioned.
"Don't play with me Bella, I know that you are the one who did this" he yelled at her but she was unmoved by it, he had no proof so he couldn't claim she was the one. Immediately she came back, she had taken a shower to get the stench of the dungeon away from her so no one could suspect a thing.
"I don't know what you are taking about, what is going on?" She asked.
Almano sensed that she knew nothing so he refused to tell her that they had escaped.
"Nothing, you can go back to sleep" he ordered about to leave.
"Almano" she called him and he halted. This was the first time she had called his name in a long while.
"Yes" he replied sweetly, just hearing his name from her lips was enough to calm him down.
"Can I ask for a Favour?" she said.
"Anything, I would do anything for you"
"I want to see Coast" she asked.
"No" he objected.
"Please" she pleaded with puffy eyes.
"I said no" he ordered.
"Why not?" She asked.
"Because he is not himself"
"But I just want to see him" she pleaded.
"I won't let you" he reworded.
Bella moved closer to him and held his hand,
"You said you cared for me right and that you would do anything for me. This is the first thing I am asking you, are you going to turn me down" she said.
Bella knew exactly what she was doing, she was well aware that she had to exploit the love Almano claimed to have for her to her own benefits.
"Okay, I will take you to see him if that would make you happy but I won't guarantee that he might want to see you" he answered as he touched her face, Bella felt disgusted by it but it was the price to pay to get what she wanted. He leaned down to kiss her lips but she turned her face to the side and he ended up kissing her cheeks awkwardly.
"Thank you, I will get ready" she answered and he left the room to give her space.
"I need to take another bath" Bella grunt from having him touch her.
