"Stop teasing me. Our mother is here. I asked her if she could come with us, okay? And she said yes."
Finished talking, he opened the car door and helped her sit inside, then he turned to Mrs. Emma. "Mom, you take care of my wife."
Mrs. Emma looked at him and nodded with a smile.
After confirming she was in a safe seat, David rounded the driver's seat. Half an hour later, the car stopped at a rather large hospital in the city of X. David gently hugged Ella's waist along with her, and Mrs. Emma stepped inside.
Ella followed the nurse's instructions into the room, with David in the back. His eyes were fixed on the screen that was gradually showing a fetus that had formed.
The doctor moved the instrument over her abdomen and spoke to Ella. "The baby is developing very well, your family remembers to be careful in these months of pregnancy, especially since you and your husband should not have sex to avoid affecting the baby."
Ella's face flushed, she peeked at David but, she caught sight of his blank gaze fixed on the screen. She knew he was agitated when he first saw a scene like this.
"I know, thanks doctor," Ella said.
David looked at the cute baby figure, so he couldn't help but ask the doctor. "Is my child a boy or a girl?"
The female doctor looked at him so confused, that she felt funny.
"As a girl, it's like taking your wife for an ultrasound for the first time. You two just had your first child?"
Ella smiled shyly. "Yes."
"I see you care a lot about your wife. Please take care of her more, because pregnancy is very difficult for women." The female doctor said while looking at David.
"Yes." David nodded. David himself knows that pregnant women always feel insecure, that's what he read in books and he reminds himself to love, care, and pamper his wife more.
Ella reached out and took his big hand, squeezing it, he lay in hers too. His free hand caressed her hair, and loving glances both exchanged. The female doctor understood what they meant, so she walked out of the room, giving the couple some privacy.
David sat down on the bed, his eyes down to Ella's big belly, sometimes he looked up at the picture of their baby on the screen. He suddenly burst out laughing but then he stopped laughing and his eyes turned red.
Ella panicked, raised her hands to sit up, shook his shoulder, and urgently asked. "What are you doing? Don't scare me."
David said nothing, he held her in his arms, his face buried in Ella's neck, smelling her scent. Ella could only put her arms around her back, she patted David's broad back.
"Thank you for accepting to give birth to me." There was happiness in David's eyes.
Ella burst into tears. This is their first child, so they are extremely happy.
"Let's go home." She speaks.
Mrs. Emma saw the couple come out, she got up from her chair and went to help Ella. She inquired. "How's my nephew?"
"Good. Go home and rest, wait until the day of the birth." Ella replied.
"Good. I'll cook for you some food."
"Yes, thank you." Ella smiled happily. She feels she is very lucky to have a loving mother-in-law who makes up for the days when she was lost to Mrs. Emma and treated me badly.
In the following days, Ella was attended to by Mrs. Emma and is well taken care of, so David is somewhat assured to work, he wants to take advantage of all the work shortly so that he can be with her more.
Ella with Mrs. Emma and Rika sat in the living room, they ate the fruit on the table. Suddenly Ella's phone rings, she picks it up and finds out that Raymon called.
"Hello?"
Raymon's hand clenched the phone tightly, this was the sweet voice of the woman whose heart used to flutter but now, she belonged to someone else.
"Ella, I'm going to Italy to settle down tomorrow, can you come to see me off, okay?"
She was startled, her mouth hastily said.
"Why did you go without telling everyone?"
"It's just a small thing when I have free time I can still visit everyone. So come tomorrow, tell David to drive you safely, anyway your belly is getting bigger and bigger."
"Did you go there to hide? What happened, forget it. We're not mad at you."
His hands are in his pockets, his eyes are indifferently looking around, and his mouth is forced into a smile. "You misunderstood. I went to Italy to manage the branch there. David gave me a chance, so I didn't want to disappoint him." Raymon decided to start over from the starting line.
"Okay, I'll go to the airport to see you off." Ella hung up the call, in a daze.
Mrs. Emma sat beside her, impatient to see Ella upset. She asked. "What happened? Pregnant women must not let negative emotions rule."
Ella came out of her dream and smiled. "No. It's just... Raymon is going abroad."
Rika said in an unhappy voice. "Why did my brother let him manage the branch in Italy? Can this man be trusted?"
"I think Raymon regrets it. We should let it go. And give him a new chance." Ella said.
"I think so too. If Maria had realized her mistake sooner, she wouldn't have been in a mental hospital." Mrs. Emma agreed with Ella's opinion.
After finishing work at the company, David hastily organized the documents to prepare to go home. Key couldn't help but tease. "From the day the young lady became pregnant, you spoiled her very much."
David didn't deny it, his face was full of excitement, and he casually answered Key. "Wife is for pampering, she deserves it."
The words ended, and David opened the door outside. Key looked at his boss's hurried back and could only shake his head and smile. Seeing his boss like today, Key felt so satisfied, finally, David was back to the way he was before with an arrogant, confident look.
Night.
Ella put her arm around David's waist, her small head nuzzling his large chest. Then, a small voice echoed steadily in David's ears.
"Hey, Raymon is leaving the country. He's going to Italy."
David was enjoying the smooth back of his wife, but when he heard the little woman in his lap mention another man, his face was not happy. However, he still answered. "I told Raymon to go to Italy to manage the company there. Wazzup?"
