Lucas' POV
"Fuck, Finn. What happened to me? Why this fucking she-wolf is sitting on my lap? Where's Josephine?" I rubbed my forehead and asked in my mind.
The she-wolf was sitting on my lap like a little girl, feeding me grapes.
"Isn't she lovely?" Finn asked.
"Fuck off, Finn. What the fuck have you done?" I turned my head away in disgust.
Fucking grapes. Who the fuck wants to eat that?
"You should try some. They're succulent and sweet, just like that little she-wolf." Finn sounded mischievous.
"Grapes are supposed to be crushed, fermented, and bottled. I don't mind doing the same to the girl," I said. The little she-wolf seemed to notice the change in my attitude.
As soon as her eyes met mine, the light in her eyes was gone.
She jumped off my lap swiftly and took her seat next to me.
She looked like a fucking little ant.
I just wanted to crush her for no reason.
"What did you do to me, Finn? Did you just fucking take control of me? I lost my memory of last night!" I asked exasperatedly.
There was no answer.
He fucking ignored me again.
I was fueled by rage.
"This isn't funny. I'm fucking asking you a question and I demand a fucking answer! Do you want me to rip that fucking she-wolf's arms off? Is that what you want? I know she can heal herself, but fuck, let's see if she can grow another pair of arms!"
"Let's just not blow this out of proportion, OK?"
"Blow this... Fuck, Finn!" I stood up and dashed off the dining hall, leaving everyone feeling shocked and terrified.
I wished I had flipped the table in front of me and had ripped everyone's eyes out of their fucking sockets, but I managed to take control of my impulse.
I rushed into my tent, broke, kicked, smashed, and destroyed everything in my way.
"You're my fucking wolf, Finn! I gave you a fucking name, but that doesn't mean that you're a fucking human being! You're supposed to be submissive to me and obey everything I say! That's it! The moment you want to take control of me, you've crossed the line! Do you understand what I mean?!" I punched the mirror so hard that my fist started to bleed.
Finn didn't seem to care about what I felt. He simply said, "I love her."
"But I don't!" I shouted.
"Why can't you accept her? She's no longer weak. She's getting stronger. You saw the way she stabbed that assassin. What else proof do you need?" Finn sounded a bit upset.
"She's getting stronger because she wants to kill me, Finn!" I yelled.
"Stop bleating and calm down, Luke. She won't kill you, because I'm here with you. Can't you see that I'm trying very hard to let her like you?"
I could tell that Finn got cross. That was something new.
I had never managed to piss him off.
Not even once.
So why not push it a little bit harder and make him totally lose it?
"She will kill you as well, Finn. Haven't you seen it in her eyes? She has made up her mind. She'll kill me at all costs and you'll just be some sort of collateral damage. Don't overestimate yourself." I spoke as loudly and clearly as I could.
"I'm not overestimating myself. You, on the other hand, are underestimating her. She's the exact opposite of you. She's full of love. Even the hatred in her eyes was derived from love."
Again? That love versus hatred talk again?!
"Love always triumphs over its rival, Luke. We can't exist in this world without love. It's a miracle for someone like you who's so full of hatred to make it this far. Now it's time for you to do the right thing. Do it..."
"I'm not going to love anyone in this fucking world!" I interrupted him.
But Finn always finishes his sentence -
"Do it, before it's too late," he said. "She won't get us killed, but you will, Luke."
Lucian walked into my tent.
Fuck. Good. Just what I need right now. Another round of lectures from Lucian.
"I know breakfast party is dreadful, but I didn't expect it to be this bad," he said. "What did Finn do to you this time?"
"He took control of me while I was drunk!"
Lucian frowned, "Finn did cross the line, but I don't think he had any bad intentions."
"No bad intentions?! He has fucking betrayed me! He's betrayed me just because he wants to fuck that fucking she-wolf! Do you need any more explanations than that? He wants to control me! If he fully possessed me, I would be permanently gone! I'm having a fucking murderer in my body, who's biding for his time to kill me!"
"I need you to calm down, Luke. I'll talk to Finn, but you'll have to work with me." Lucian said.
"I don't like that fucking she-wolf! I want her dead!" I roared.
"My people are on their way to bringing her father back. She'll be dead in no time."
"What if his fucking father doesn't know what her name is?!"
Lucian said, "You kill the old man and we'll sort something out. Trust me, Luke. You'll always get what you want. That's just what it is."
I felt much relieved. I raised my arms, so Lucian could help me take off my suit and change into the hunting suit.
Fucking Finn. It's all his fucking fault.
"Finn," Lucian said.
"Don't talk to me, Lucian. I'm not in the mood." Finn replied through my mindlink with Lucian.
"You've been completely out of line these days and your behavior has made Lucas very upset. Under no condition will the same thing happen again. I want you to know that no matter what happens in the future, I will always make sure that Luke is the one who survives. Everyone who dares to challenge him eventually disappears. Finn, this is your last warning and you know I'm a man of my word."
I had never seen Lucian's face become so serious. He looked intimidating when he tried to threaten people. His steady flow of speech was like the cold blade of a peeling knife, getting under your skin and getting on your nerves.
Finn didn't say anything.
Fuck. Lucian managed to make Finn speechless!
But at the same time, I'm in doubt.
What does he mean by the fucking "disappear" shit?
I looked down at Lucian and frowned, "Do you know anything that I don't know?"
Lucian was helping me to change into hunting boots. He looked up at me, stood up, and pinched my face gently, "I only know things when it's appropriate, Luke. But don't worry. When I know, you'll know."
