Louisa's POV
Alpha Lucas continued, "You, on the other hand, have to be my new submissive fucktoy. You have to earn this honor because the warlock has done a pretty decent job in serving his Master. And for my justification, I didn't make up that fucking lunatic story about me being Uma's wife. That fucking warlock came up with it just in a blink of an eye. There's no surprise in this because they can be very convincing when they try to trick you. He cheated you, she-wolf. He was the one who was lying to you all the time. Do you know, by the way, why he begged you so desperately the other day? To let me transfer his imprint to you?"
I shook my head and said, "I don't want to know! Don't tell me! Darren's like a brother to me! He won't do anything to hurt..."
Alpha Lucas' eyes were narrowed, "Oh, fuck. I know that you're backward, but I don't know you can be this retarded to buy his bullshit about being your brother. His dead brother's spirit was locked in the fire that he carries around all the time. That's why he talks gibberish to the fire at night all the time. As soon as you get his imprint from me, he will kill you because you're a much easier target than me. By killing his new Master, the curse on both him and his brother will be lifted. He will be set free once and for all and his brother will come back to life in your dead carcass."
His words were like sharp knives, stabbing into my heart and shredding it into thousands of pieces.
I couldn't believe Darren was trying to kill me all this time.
Was the vulnerable look on his face the best disguise of a vicious killer?
Or Alpha Lucas was just trying to mess up my mind by defaming Darren?

"I like everything about you."
His soft voice appeared in my mind again.

I closed my eyes.
The light of my life dimmed.
I wept silently when Alpha Lucas got into my body again.
I spent the happiest days of my life with Finn and Darren.
But it turned out that both of them cheated on me and...
They wanted to kill me.
My wolf warned me not to trust anyone long ago.
But I didn't listen to her.
"Not everyone is as bad as you imagine." I used to argue with her like this.
I was so hopelessly naive.
My life was like a joke because I was too blind to see.
What was on my mind? I was just a stupid little werewolf who didn't deserve anything good in my life.
My mother died because of giving birth to me.
My father abandoned me.
My mate abhorred me.
My friend betrayed me.
Was there anything worth living for in my life at all?
I suddenly realized that deep in my mind, there must be a secret drive of self-destruction hidden.
My whole life was a mistake. I walked around, assuming that I was living an unapologetic life. But deep in my mind, I knew everyone would be better off without me... their lives would be less miserable.
I used to blame Alpha Lucas for the misfortune that occurred in my life.
I used to believe that by killing him, I would take control of my life.
But killing him wouldn't end my misery.
My stepmother Rosalie was right. My whole life was cursed.
"Concentrate, she-wolf." I heard Alpha Lucas' voice.
He pulled up my hair and made me look at him.
"Is this what it is?" I whispered as he got inside of me again.
"What the fuck are you talking about?" he groaned.
He held my body so closely towards him as if he wanted to embed me into his chest.
Then, I saw a black shadow flash in front of my eyes.
There was someone else in the tent!
At almost the same time, Alpha Lucas jumped out of bed.
A giant black wolf, which was almost the same size as Finn, charged at me.
I didn't move.
My last strength was abraded away by the revelation of my pathetic life.
Let my life end here today. Right now.
"What the fuck?! Move! She-wolf!" I heard Alpha Lucas' voice.
Then, he pulled me behind his back and used his body as a shield to block me from the mad wolf.
The wolf took a bite at Alpha Lucas' forearm. Blood immediately dripped down from his arm.
His knife dropped on the floor.
The black wolf was like a demonic hound. His red eyes were staring at me, blazing with anger and excitement.
"Let go of him!" I screamed.
I grabbed the knife from the ground and stabbed it into his brain, right between his ears.
The black wolf whimpered and dropped dead on the floor.
Soldiers heard the sound and rushed into the tent.
They were all shocked by what they had seen.
When I looked up, I saw him.
Finn.
He was standing in front of me. He looked confused and enraged.
"Finn..." I whispered.
He didn't seem to hear me. He jumped at those soldiers and smashed them down one after another.
Before I could realize it, those soldiers dropped dead one by one on the ground.
Looking at the bodies falling down like crops, I shouted, "Finn! Stop!"
Finn turned back and looked at me.
For a brief moment, I thought he didn't recognize me at all.
Then, he moved towards me.
I stepped back automatically. I thought he might hurt me.
He stopped right in front of me while poking his nose at my hands.
I knew he was making an attempt. He wanted me to hug and kiss him.
I covered my face with my hands and wept.
"Don't be... afraid of me... Lisa..." He said in his signature hoarse voice.
His ears flicked and he shifted into Alpha Lucas again.
The wound on his forearm was still pretty bad.
Beta Lucian and the that scarface Gamma Kylo showed up at the entrance of the tent.
I wrapped myself in the sheet in a panic and curled up into a ball behind Alpha Lucas.
"Alpha, what happened?" Kylo frowned and asked.
