Louisa Unchained

Chapter 94

Ch. 94 / 262 Apr 29, 2026

  Louisa's POV

  I was completely petrified.

The cold, sharp blade of the knife was pressed against my throat.

If I moved, even slightly, my throat would be sliced open.

I saw the craziness in Lucas' eyes and I knew immediately that was it.

I knew this day would come, but I guessed people would never be ready for their own death.

"What have you just done? You didn't have to provoke him like that." I heard the sound of my wolf in my mind. "Now he's mad. He's going to rape and kill you."

  "I know," I said.

"I don't want to die. I don't want to be killed by my own mate," my wolf said.

"I know," I replied. "But I've had enough of this kind of miserable life. I'm tired of being beaten, threatened, and humiliated by someone who doesn't even have a heart. The void in his chest will never be filled by anything. I tried, really."

"Well, you need to try harder." My wolf said in a calm voice. "I need your permission to take over."

"I won't give it to you."

"So you want to get both of us killed," my wolf said.

"Yes," I said, "I want everything to end today. I have nothing to live for in this world. My life is a mistake and a joke. I'm sorry for everything, lassie. I wish I could have known more about you..."

My wolf interrupted me and said, "Your life isn't a joke. But your attitude is. We'll talk about this later. Now I need your permission. I won't ask for a third time."

The chilliness and determination embedded in her words made me abashed.

I might be suicidal, but I certainly didn't have the right to kill her with me.

I sighed and said, "OK. Go ahead."

As I finished my words, my body started to shiver. White fur started to appear on my arms.

"What the fuck are you doing? Are you fucking shifting?! Stop it!" Lucas growled.

I felt waves of excruciating pain coming from my spine and abdomen as if my body was shrinking and expanding at the same time.

Then, the transformation stopped and my wolf stood in front of Lucas, tilting her head and looking at him.

"I don't believe that we have officially met, Lucas," my wolf looked at him and said.

Lucas had an incredible look on his face and said, "You fucking piece of s..."

"Mind your language, mister, because rude people don't earn any respect," my wolf said.

"What the f..." Lucas struggled to conceptualize what was happening. He looked like a naughty boy who had been told off by his mother. I could tell he obviously had multiple difficulties when he tried to talk without swearing.

My wolf didn't say anything. She shifted her sight down to the knife in Lucas' hand.

His hand was still bleeding because of Will's bite.

She approached him instead of stepping back.

"What are you doing? Are you out of your mind? Stay away from him! He's got a knife..." I said.

My wolf didn't listen to me and kept walking towards him.

Lucas didn't move. There was something flashing through his eyes, like a meteorite flying across the sky and dimmed.

It was something alien, something darker and more compelling.

  Was it...

  Fear?

He was afraid of my wolf! How was that possible?

Lucas started to step back as my wolf moved forward. Then, he stopped and leaned against a tree.

My wolf stopped right in front of him, holding her head up, and stared at him.

"Don't come any closer or I'll peel off your skin and gouge your eyes out! You'll be bleeding to death and..." Lucas pulled up the knife and pointed at my wolf.

I could see that his hands were trembling.

He was consumed by enormous fear and remorse.

My wolf took one step forward and sat on her rear legs.

"What?" She asked him in a casual way. "You've got a knife in your hand. I'm sitting right in front of you. You're describing how you want to kill me. That sounds really persuasive."

Lucas looked down at my wolf and roared, "Stop! Shut the f... Shut up! Don't say one more word! What do you want?!"

"Drop your knife and put on your pants. Then, we'll talk." My wolf lay on her stomach and said.

Lucas had an incredible look on his face. He eventually threw the knife on the floor rashly and tried to buckle his pants in a panic. But his hands were trembling so much that he just couldn't do it.

  Eventually, he gave up.

He just slid down on the ground like a deflated balloon.

They sat with each other like that in silence for a while.

A fallen leaf dropped down from the tree and swirled in the wind before landing on my wolf's head.

Lucas flicked the leaf off her head.

She shook her head and body to let her fur be puffy.

Then, she shifted a bit closer to Lucas and said, "The wound on your hand looked pretty bad."

"It's none of your business," Lucas said. He swung his hand a few times and the wound disappeared. Only blood still existed.

He raised his hand and licked the blood dripping from it.

He was calmer than before, but he still looked pretty mad.

"You've broken the vampire kid's back." My wolf crossed her front legs and said.

Lucas took a glance at her and said, "He'll recover in no time. Vampires are sick and morbid creatures. They're like roaches. They don't f... They don't die."

My wolf sniffed his hand and said, "A scar may disappear. But it doesn't mean the trauma has never been done. You don't have to hurt everyone to make them fear you."

Lucas looked hesitant for a while, but eventually, he placed his hand on top of my wolf's neck and stroked it gently.

His giant hands felt warm. My wolf stretched her neck and placed her head on his lap. This sudden act of intimacy made him intimidated.

  He retracted a bit.

"Why are you afraid of me?" My wolf lifted her head up and looked at him.

"I'm not afraid of..." Lucas looked agitated and unbuttoned his collar, "Whatever. What do you want? Do you want my love as well? Because I don't have any. People usually ask me for money or my life. There're way too many people asking for my love these days."

"I want nothing from you. It is you who wanted to kill Lisa. That's why I have to step up and interfere. I know people love in different ways, but your way of expressing it has made her life very miserable, Lucas."

"My way of expressing love?! I don't love her! I want to reject her!"

"Is that what you really want?" My wolf looked at him in contemplation and asked. "Because I know her real name and I can tell you."
